New thing with a 13 year old alarm..plug and play 791xv esp2..SMART START FAILS WHEN NORMAL ANTENNA IS PLUGGED IN DISCONNECT THE ANTENNA AND ITS PERFECT.why would you want to mess with the old system anymore. My remotes are 80 bucks to replace. Fail once a year. Hook a smartstart up to your bitwriter port, power and ground. I discovered the flaw on accident myself yesterday and i didnt expect viper to know that flaw on a 13 year old system.so i thought I would share as you will never figure it out otherwise.other systems may experience same issue..Im calling viper monday so they may issue a service bulletin..your welcome..Im just happy it worked!

If you like recurring payments to start your car, then its not that bad, its not 100 percent reliable. The not working a 100 percent of the time isnt the worse issue, its when you try to renew your subscription, which it doesnt work unless you spend $70 a year. I still cant figure out how to renew the silly thing and had to open a ticket with support.After changing my password, i get an amibuous error message, try again later? very sad, stay away if you dont want to be annoyed when trying to use it when want it to start your car

Product works ok, several issues of it not working when perfect there's perfect cell reception. App is not good and customer service is the AWFUL!!! Honestly, worst customer service I've ever experienced.
