I purchased this while on sale and I actually planned to give them away, but the moment I turned it on, I was hooked. The screen is very impressive; clear, dynamic and the knock code feature make this phone worth the value. It does not come standard with the apps that you are used to seeing when you power up a new phone, like FB and Navigation, but downloading them is a cinch. The videos and pictures are okay, but better than most. Youtube videos play nicely and the screen makes it worth watching now. I ordered a case and I would suggest you invest in one because it is light and slim, recipe for a screen disaster. Overall, its a great phone. No complaints. For $40, why would i?

After years of lemons, (Except for Apple SG when new) I bought the LG Tribute because it had other positive reviews and my budget was limited. After a month, I can say, I love it! If you stream, do social networking, etc. this phone is a bargain. Even when my server lowers speed on my data (which would render streaming nearly impossible on other makes) it is fine...just adjust the quality rate to medium when watching tv or movies. It uses LTE most of the time, which is super fast. It has a big full screen picture; also has front/back cameras...It looks and acts like the much pricier Samsung Galaxy phones .The LG format is elegant and the keyboard is wonderfully fluid. I would have given it 5 stars, but it has flaws: VERY difficult to activate, due to extra features it requires help...It has a voice activated function for the visually impaired, which is on when the new phone is first turned on, along with a SIM card, also optional.Since I had no need of those, I had trouble circumnavigating them, and I couldn't auto activate the phone. After my server also couldn't do it via tech support, I had it activated at Best Buy...their service was great. I know my way around devices, but I couldn't do it myself. Get it activated at Best Buy! This model is probably on sale because of that and its odd size (just a bit shorter than an Apple 5) there are no cases manufactured to fit it. I created one; so far, so good. It doesn't have its own gallery (photos, etc), but just use Google and that covers extra editing as well as back up!Last is I have been able to use my SD card storage for just few items, though it has loads of unused space. The phone has a large memory and power on its own. That said, I paid so little for this phone, I am amazed at how terrific it is.If you know how to use the inner functionings of a mobile phone, you will be very pleased with the LG Tribute and will probably sing its praises, too.

    A bargain for the price

Outside of the low internal storage and the non-hd screen, this phone is great. It's extremely responsive and smooth, which is no surprise given it has a quality 1.2ghz quad-core in it. Call quality appears to be good as well. The low internal memory is a definite drawback and that's what's knocked off a star from my rating. It would be manageable if LG didn't have the phone so locked down so you could root it and get more apps to your external memory card. The camera is only average as well... although it does have the bonus of a front-facing camera and a flash on the rear-facing camera. All-in-all, it's hard to complain about the couple of drawbacks to this phone considering its price (I got it on sale as well, though I'd still say it's worth it at the normal price).

Had a Kyocera, was nothing but trouble from the start - this one really hasn't had a failure, beyond a VERY slick plastic finish, making it difficult to hold. That forced me to buy a case for it - the model has few options, and all of them add thickness. If Samsung would make case with a 'sticky' surface, that would be nice. Sound quality is good, though the speaker can't handle high volume. Pictures are CLEAR, has nice features, can zoom while doing video. Battery life is OK - a couple days if no [or a few short] calls made. I've even made a call of WELL OVER an hour, and still has plenty of charge left (previous 2 phones would get HOT, and dead in about 30-45 min of talking -- to be fair, the signal hear is only a couple bars, and that matters).

Great phone for the low low price of $39.99. Kit Kat os, gorilla glass scratch resistant screen, 4G LTE and LG specific functions like knock code and the lumen bar make this phone a must have for the cost conscious and value vigilant. Virgin Mobile bloatware takes up slightly more internal memory than I would like but disabling or even deleting some of those is possible. Even if you don't, you still have about 1.5 gb for apps. I have a 16 gb micro SD card so that is a non issue. Battery life is excellent. Network reception is lightning fast especially compared to my previous 3G device. I studied new phones for months before I made this purchase. There is NOT a better phone for the price on the market...

I purchased this phone based on price. It turned out to be a good value for a guy like me--a basic phone user. One complaint I have is that this phone does not let you know if you have a text message or a voice mail. There is no blinking light or any other type of signal to alert you. I also have the Lg Volt and it alerts me with a green blinking light that I have text or voice mail.Other than that the phone is ok.I would recommend it for someone who wants a good inexpensive smart phone.

Phone works great! I have very basic needs and this satisfies them all and much more. Then only draw back is that it really should have a little more memory. I've seen other reviews complaining that you can't move the apps to the sd card. Thats true for the bloat wear that you can't remove (but you can disable them to free up active memory & remove the icon). Most of the apps that you download can be moved to the sd card, you can also save you photos and music to it, I don't really need anything else. The other complaint I've seen is about the lack of cases for this phone however, I found loads of them on Amazon. You absolutely can't go wrong for the price!

    Affordable Android Phone

About 2 months ago, I replaced my malfunctioning Kyocera Event phone with a LG Tribute that was on sale at Best Buy. For the most part, it was a major upgrade. The LG Tribute has an up-to-date Android system, and significant memory and space for a sub-$100 Android phone. The photos I've taken on the phone rival my decade old Kodak digital camera for quality. I have been able to add 54 apps to the phone without running out of space. Apps that could not work on my old phone's Android 4.1 work fine on the Tribute. My only complaint (besides the fact my grandfathered $25 a month Virgin Mobile plan wouldn't transfer to this phone) is that the phone screen likes to shut off or go blank when talking on the phone. However, that was also a major problem I had with my Kyocera Event, and seems to be a problem with most Android phones.

If you are looking to lose the big cell contracts I would highly recommend this over achiever. The LG Tribute along with Virgin is a win win situation. I am still on the same network I was with previously without a contract thanks to Virgin. This Quad core is well versed with many features that I commonly used on my fancy phone. This LG Tribute performs like a proven proven winner. Honestly I have not missed a beat coming from a note 4 to this phone. It does everything you would ask of it. The screen is not as pristine as my note 4 and I would not expect that. But it's no slouch either. The only drawback is the camera. Get yourself a 32 gig SD card and move your apps over to it and you will love this phone. Great value and great speed.

I bought another, more expensive, phone for daughter about a year ago. Since then, we've had issues with the battery life as well as the usb charging port. After dealing with the issues, I gave up and bought this LG Tribute for about $60 ( the last phone cost $300). My daughter loves it. It is so new, that we can't even find a case/cover for it. So, I can't comment on long term performance. Very happy so far.

I got this phone for $40 with a $20 gift certificate so I couldn't really pass that up. I don't use my phone much, just browsing, texting, calls, email, and a few apps that I use a bit. With that being said, it does everything I need fast and with a good screen quality. The cons are it's limited internal memory poor camera but I they are still decent, just not the best. If you can't live without a ton of apps and an amazing camera then find something else. My recommendation only goes to those who aren't obsessed with phones and just need a good device that does get the job done.

I Love My New LG Tribute

At $39.99, this phone is a great asset for your budgeting needs. Great for kids, teens, & older love ones. For those who are emoji fans, this is the phone to have. However, the con is that you will be on Sprint network which has less 4G LTE Coverage as oppose to Verizon or AT&T. If you're ok with the Sprint network/coverage, go ahead and purchase this awesome phone by Virgin Mobile. Also, there's not much space on this phone due to default VM apps, so I bought a 8gig SD Card. --- Besides the small cons, this phone is still worth purchasing at $39.99. I Love it.

I am very pleased with this phone. The processor is much faster than my Samsung. and it is very easy to navigate through all it's features. My only complaint is the fact that it is new and there are no cases or screen protectors available for it.

This works much better than my old LG VM720, faster, more memory and bigger screen. There are, however, a few little things that you should know. 1) If you use the tap screen unlock app you have to tap, not just touch..after a few weeks it started being a hit instead of a tap; recommend you use the screen swipe instead. 2) If you have the music app or the I-Heart radio app going at the same time as Google maps, it tends to freeze up. 3) it's a battery hog, 1/3 gone by noon & I don't use it when at work; recommend you get an external power pack to keep with you.

It is like having a mini tablet on you that you can make phone calls with. I like it, but when you are making a call where you need the keyboard to hit 1 for English or anything like that, the screen keeps turning off and on and off and on and off and on. Very aggravating. My wife and I buy the same phones, and hers does it as well. About to throw it through a window. It seems to have a memory issue as well, where you have to turn it off and restart it a few times a day. And I do not have many apps on it.

I joined Virgin but the reception is not great in my area. I am disappointed with that. The phone, however, works nicely. The texting is easy and the camera is nice BUT for some unexplainable reason, my camera stopped working properly. I could take pictures, but I couldn't view the pictures, like I had when I first bought the phone. Something happened to it but I don't know. So now I just downloaded another camera app and it's working. Besides the camera fiasco, the phone is very good.

The touchscreen can be very touchy. I have hung up on some calls while on the call screen. Maybe there is something to prevent this, I just have not looked into yet. Screen is a bit small, but for the price it is fine. I have a laptop at home so I did not need a huge screen on my phone. (yet). There is not a lot of memory on the phone so I don't have apps that take up too much space. I can just google online and look up what i need instead. I do wish there was more space, but again for the price, it is fine. Very clear and takes pretty good pics. I love the texting features with this phone.

Bought this phone for my 15 year old. I was trying to get him to get the HTC 510 (bigger screen). He opted for the LG Tribute. Good camera. Loaded with KitKat 4.4, touchscreen responds quickly. He says it's the right size too. Great phone for teen and great plan through Virgin Mobile.
