    A great deal

I purchased this while on sale and I actually planned to give them away, but the moment I turned it on, I was hooked. The screen is very impressive; clear, dynamic and the knock code feature make this phone worth the value. It does not come standard with the apps that you are used to seeing when you power up a new phone, like FB and Navigation, but downloading them is a cinch. The videos and pictures are okay, but better than most. Youtube videos play nicely and the screen makes it worth watching now. I ordered a case and I would suggest you invest in one because it is light and slim, recipe for a screen disaster. Overall, its a great phone. No complaints. For $40, why would i?

    A bargain for the price

Outside of the low internal storage and the non-hd screen, this phone is great. It's extremely responsive and smooth, which is no surprise given it has a quality 1.2ghz quad-core in it. Call quality appears to be good as well. The low internal memory is a definite drawback and that's what's knocked off a star from my rating. It would be manageable if LG didn't have the phone so locked down so you could root it and get more apps to your external memory card. The camera is only average as well... although it does have the bonus of a front-facing camera and a flash on the rear-facing camera. All-in-all, it's hard to complain about the couple of drawbacks to this phone considering its price (I got it on sale as well, though I'd still say it's worth it at the normal price).

This is a Tribute! Entry price, pro performance!

After years of lemons, (Except for Apple SG when new) I bought the LG Tribute because it had other positive reviews and my budget was limited. After a month, I can say, I love it! If you stream, do social networking, etc. this phone is a bargain. Even when my server lowers speed on my data (which would render streaming nearly impossible on other makes) it is fine...just adjust the quality rate to medium when watching tv or movies. It uses LTE most of the time, which is super fast. It has a big full screen picture; also has front/back cameras...It looks and acts like the much pricier Samsung Galaxy phones .The LG format is elegant and the keyboard is wonderfully fluid. I would have given it 5 stars, but it has flaws: VERY difficult to activate, due to extra features it requires help...It has a voice activated function for the visually impaired, which is on when the new phone is first turned on, along with a SIM card, also optional.Since I had no need of those, I had trouble circumnavigating them, and I couldn't auto activate the phone. After my server also couldn't do it via tech support, I had it activated at Best Buy...their service was great. I know my way around devices, but I couldn't do it myself. Get it activated at Best Buy! This model is probably on sale because of that and its odd size (just a bit shorter than an Apple 5) there are no cases manufactured to fit it. I created one; so far, so good. It doesn't have its own gallery (photos, etc), but just use Google and that covers extra editing as well as back up!Last is I have been able to use my SD card storage for just few items, though it has loads of unused space. The phone has a large memory and power on its own. That said, I paid so little for this phone, I am amazed at how terrific it is.If you know how to use the inner functionings of a mobile phone, you will be very pleased with the LG Tribute and will probably sing its praises, too.

I bought another, more expensive, phone for daughter about a year ago. Since then, we've had issues with the battery life as well as the usb charging port. After dealing with the issues, I gave up and bought this LG Tribute for about $60 ( the last phone cost $300). My daughter loves it. It is so new, that we can't even find a case/cover for it. So, I can't comment on long term performance. Very happy so far.

    Does what it should

Had a Kyocera, was nothing but trouble from the start - this one really hasn't had a failure, beyond a VERY slick plastic finish, making it difficult to hold. That forced me to buy a case for it - the model has few options, and all of them add thickness. If Samsung would make case with a 'sticky' surface, that would be nice. Sound quality is good, though the speaker can't handle high volume. Pictures are CLEAR, has nice features, can zoom while doing video. Battery life is OK - a couple days if no [or a few short] calls made. I've even made a call of WELL OVER an hour, and still has plenty of charge left (previous 2 phones would get HOT, and dead in about 30-45 min of talking -- to be fair, the signal hear is only a couple bars, and that matters).

I am very pleased with this phone. The processor is much faster than my Samsung. and it is very easy to navigate through all it's features. My only complaint is the fact that it is new and there are no cases or screen protectors available for it.

Great phone for the low low price of $39.99. Kit Kat os, gorilla glass scratch resistant screen, 4G LTE and LG specific functions like knock code and the lumen bar make this phone a must have for the cost conscious and value vigilant. Virgin Mobile bloatware takes up slightly more internal memory than I would like but disabling or even deleting some of those is possible. Even if you don't, you still have about 1.5 gb for apps. I have a 16 gb micro SD card so that is a non issue. Battery life is excellent. Network reception is lightning fast especially compared to my previous 3G device. I studied new phones for months before I made this purchase. There is NOT a better phone for the price on the market...

Great Phone without a plan !!!

If you are looking to lose the big cell contracts I would highly recommend this over achiever. The LG Tribute along with Virgin is a win win situation. I am still on the same network I was with previously without a contract thanks to Virgin. This Quad core is well versed with many features that I commonly used on my fancy phone. This LG Tribute performs like a proven proven winner. Honestly I have not missed a beat coming from a note 4 to this phone. It does everything you would ask of it. The screen is not as pristine as my note 4 and I would not expect that. But it's no slouch either. The only drawback is the camera. Get yourself a 32 gig SD card and move your apps over to it and you will love this phone. Great value and great speed.

    PRETTY GOOD SMART PHONE.

I purchased this phone based on price. It turned out to be a good value for a guy like me--a basic phone user. One complaint I have is that this phone does not let you know if you have a text message or a voice mail. There is no blinking light or any other type of signal to alert you. I also have the Lg Volt and it alerts me with a green blinking light that I have text or voice mail.Other than that the phone is ok.I would recommend it for someone who wants a good inexpensive smart phone.

    Best phone at this price

Overall, this is a great phone. The Good: You get the latest android version, a decent camera (not the greatest of all, but still good), high speed connectivity, a quad core processor, and a battery that should last you most of the day. The Bad: Screen resolution is poor compared to new, expensive phones, but hey, it costs well under a hundred, so this is not that bad. Verdict: If you're on a budget, this baby is all the latest tech you need for a price you can afford.

Bought this phone for my 15 year old. I was trying to get him to get the HTC 510 (bigger screen). He opted for the LG Tribute. Good camera. Loaded with KitKat 4.4, touchscreen responds quickly. He says it's the right size too. Great phone for teen and great plan through Virgin Mobile.

    Good phone for cheap price

I went from the HTC Desire 816 to this phone. Screen on old phone was cracked so bad that It wouldn't pick up me touching the screen. Anyhoo. The LG tribute is a decent phone I bought it on 10/28/2014. The size on the phone could be bigger. You're given 1.4 gb. Not that much considering a lot of apps are starting off on the heavier side. I had to pick and choose which apps were top priority and which ones I could deal without. Phone calls are decent. I've only had one dropped call and so far I haven't had any other ones. Camera could be a lot better. But for the price I'm not letting it get to me. When loading up the pictures it starts off as blurry and become a finer picture maybe 10 seconds later. When it comes to the outside of the phone. The back cover is a bit slippery and I've found myself trying to catch the phone before it hits the floor. I also found it weird that this is the first phone I've had that never had a calculator pre-installed on it. But thats just me.

    MUST HAVE!GREAT DEAL!

    Posted .

I bought this phone online today and picked it up from the store and I am extremely satisfied with it! I looked at the reviews here first and they all seemed positve so I figured if I didnt like it I always had time to return/excahnge it. I have been through many phones so I feel like I can fairly judge this one. I have been through blackberry's, to Iphone and then to Androids(Galaxys mainly) and I currently have The Note 4. I must say this a very great phone for the price!! To me its very similar to all the Galaxy phones. The only thing is the Galaxy has a better camera. But I knew that upon buying it(it says a 5. something mp cam) which compared to something like The Note or Galaxy sucks. But seriously the phone is only $40! I love my Note3 mainly for the big screen and this phone has a 4.5 inch screen which is not bad at all. The phone itself feels light, the design is cute(basic android). You can download apps, play music, have multiple tabs open on the web, and it's super easy to use. The camera has a front and back cam and actually a panarama mode! My Note 3 doesnt even have that! The cam also has different modes, flash and self timer. Also the speaker is actually louder than my Note which Im kinda embarrassed about considering it cost so much more. I originally bought the phone for my 13 year old because Virgin Mobile has super awesome dirt cheap plans($35 unlimited) but I also wanted to get her something inexpensive and touch screen/modern. Virgin Mobile doesnt even have this phone on their website! You can simply order or buy it through Best Buy and activate at home(what I did). Also the Best Buy I went to didnt have this phone on display, yet another reason I shop online besides better deals. Its also 4g lite and takes memory cards which I plan on getting because my daughter downloads alot. I am also actually getting this phone for myself and I never plan on ever getting a super expensive phone again! I invested in a camera anyway lol and I really use my phone to text, get emails, go on instagram and surf the web. The only reason I would say not to get this phone is if your looking for one specifically for an amazing cam as this one's pretty basic. Otherwise buy it while you can! Overall an extremely great phone! If your looking for a great price for a great phone, this is definitely it! And should you decide you dont like it best buy is cool and will allow you to return it.

    A great impulse buy

I like LG phones. I had one which got messed up so I replaced it with the same one. Didn't plan on getting a new one for awhile until I passed one of the "special deal" tables and saw this one. I was called crazy for going from the newest Optima to the Tribute but it seemed more ME that I had to get it. (Plus i still have the other one so it's a win-win for me). I love the features on this one, the screen, the size of it...pretty much everything. I feel I'm able to do more things with it. Battery lasts a decent time considering all the apps I have now and it charges fast so it's no big deal. This is one of my better impulse buys.

    Awesome phone for the price

    |

Phone works great! I have very basic needs and this satisfies them all and much more. Then only draw back is that it really should have a little more memory. I've seen other reviews complaining that you can't move the apps to the sd card. Thats true for the bloat wear that you can't remove (but you can disable them to free up active memory & remove the icon). Most of the apps that you download can be moved to the sd card, you can also save you photos and music to it, I don't really need anything else. The other complaint I've seen is about the lack of cases for this phone however, I found loads of them on Amazon. You absolutely can't go wrong for the price!

I had to replace a broken phone and chose the LG Tribute. In many ways i find this to be a better phone than the Optimus it replaced. The phone is larger and easier to handle, has good call clarity, a larger display and keyboard, and many of the same features i liked on the Optimus. My only complaint is that the camera does not seem to be as good.
