Bought blender online and received an 'open box' that did not include any of the instructions or recipe book for this complex blender. Was passed through 3 chat AI reps and three live BB agents (1 hr. + of time) to try and get these written materials but no one could help. So decided to return and buy from another vendor. Never used product

Vitamix, a brand known for its premium quality kitchen appliances, continues to deliver blenders that appeal to both professional chefs and home cooks. At first glance, the Vitamix Ascent A3500 impresses with its sleek and modern design. The stainless steel blades are laser-cut and designed for durability, and the jar is made from BPA-free plastic, which, while not as durable as glass, is much lighter and safer for everyday use. One of the best elements of the A3500 is its self-cleaning function. After using the blender, simply add a drop of dish soap and some warm water into the jar, and the blender can clean itself in under a minute. This is an invaluable feature for users who blend regularly and don’t want to spend too much time cleaning up. The Vitamix Ascent A3500 boasts a 2.2-horsepower motor, which translates to around 1440 watts of raw blending power. This level of power allows the blender to handle just about any task you throw at it. One of the areas where the A3500 truly excels is in its ability to pulverize tough ingredients like nuts, seeds, and ice. Many cheaper blenders struggle to achieve a smooth texture when processing fibrous vegetables or hard ingredients, but the A3500 effortlessly blends them into a silky, consistent finish. This is particularly evident when making green smoothies; kale, spinach, and other leafy greens are processed down into a drinkable liquid without leaving any fibrous chunks behind. MY favorite recipe is 2 bananas, a cup of spinach, a cup of frozen blueberries, and a bit of water. An amazing way to start the day. In addition to the variable speed control, the A3500 also comes with five pre-programmed settings: Smoothies, Hot Soups, Frozen Desserts, Dips & Spreads, and Self-Cleaning. These programs are designed to take the guesswork out of blending; simply select the program you need, and the blender will automatically adjust its speed and blending time to achieve the perfect result. For busy individuals or those new to blending, these settings can save time and ensure consistent results. The pre-programmed settings also help with multitasking in the kitchen. For instance, when making a smoothie, you can select the smoothie program and walk away to prepare other ingredients while the blender does its job. The result is perfect every time, without the need to monitor or manually adjust the blending speed.

Kidding, but not really. Vitamix carries the name in high quality blenders and this is no different. Packaging: Packaging is pretty straightforward, cardboard box with the blender, container, tamper, a tamper holder and the recipe book. I could say more here but it would be fluff. Use: The thing has power, but it's a Vitamix so that's expected. I will say that I'm disappointed that the container is plastic, even if it is BPA free, you get glass with other brands that cost much less. I dont know the reasoning behind it but I guess it's less likely to break? I've made smoothies in it, I'm considering making soup in it but havent gotten that far yet. It has a pretty nifty self-cleaning function and not that you couldn't just do that yourself by holding down the button, but it's one of the many programs built into the device. it's quick so I dont have to concern myself with putting it in the dishwasher. The programs themselves are pretty cool, although the X4 has fewer than the X5, which is fine, I suppose there has to be a difference in the levels, and if those additional programs are important to you, it might be worth stepping up to the X5. Either way I'm thrilled with the functionality of it. I've made some frozen adult beverages with it quickly and easily. Overall: It's a great mixer, I dont love the plastic container but it's a minor gripe, at least it shouldn't be too expensive to replace if something happens to it. If you're in the market for a vitamix, this is a worthy contender.

This is a simple and powerful blender that can handle whole fruits and vegetables for the an easy experience. With multiple settings on a touchscreen panel, you can make smoothies, yogurt, soup, dip, and just about any smooth treat in-between. The touchscreen panel comes with a timer, pulse button, self-clean feature and smart detection sensor so as to not operate if there's no lid or container connected. The panel also has a knob to cycle through the pre-programmed blender settings. The container is 48 ounces or 6 cup capacity which to me seems good for a two person household. It also has a separate tamper for pressing in food from the lid as the blender operates. The tamper is not long enough to get caught up by the blades, but long enough to push whatever produce down into the blender. The blender has a built-in tamper holder. The base of the blender is wide enough to be stable while operating, and the motor is a bit on the buzzy side. It can fit under the counter for easy storage.

    Blender on a mission!

I was introduced to Vitamix in the late 70’s when a friend gave me a Vita-Mix 3600 with the instant reversing blades. It was a beast, loud and powerful. The only “blender” that was powerful enough to heat the contents simply by friction. Fast forward 50 years and we have the new Ascent X series X4. Starting with the four new models, I think the important thing to know regardless of the model is that your finished product will be consistent across the line and across the brand. The only major difference between the models is the controls and how you interact with the machine to create your concoctions - switches vs buttons and programs or not. The Vitamix Ascent X4 comes with the stainless steel and black motor base, 48 ounce slim profile container, food tamper and holder, printed recipe book, quick start guide and instruction book. The X4 model comes with five programmed presets, a self- cleaning preset, pulse button, variable speed dial, start/stop button, add 15 second button and digital display. Using the X4 couldn't be easier, fill the container and press the start button. What sets a Vitamix apart from any other blender is the raw power. When making smoothies, it's this power that breaks down the fruit and vegetable fibers and ice to the point you would think the drink was run through a strainer. I made cashew butter and was amazed that it was chunk free. I like the smaller 48 oz container that comes with the X4 rather than the larger 64oz from previous models. In a household of only two people, making smaller portions seems a little easier. If you need a larger container, they are available and the nice thing with the Ascent series is that by using the Self-Detect technology, the motor base knows what container or device like food processor or nut grinder you are using and adjusts programs accordingly. My only negative with this machine is the build of the food tamper. It reminds me of those blow-mold teddy bears I used to see at amusement park arcades, put .50 cents in the machine and watch it blow-mold the toy. With the incredible quality of the rest of the machine, the tamper just feels a bit light and weak to me. That said, it does what it's supposed to do and getting over my fear of grinding it into the blades went away after the second or third use. The included tamper holder attaches to either side of the machine but I find it gets in the way more than I care for, especially if your kitchen counter is short on space like mine. Another nice feature on the X4 model is that the display shows you when to use the tamper to make sure your food is getting blended properly. The included recipe book is really well designed and printed on very heavy paper. The nice thing about the recipes is that they are just a starting point and lay the groundwork of all the many things you can make with this machine once you get past making smoothies and frozen cocktails. It also gives you manual directions for foods that don’t have a preset program setting for. The X4 has five preset programs, the X5 has 10 and the X3 has 3, but like I said earlier, these are just conveniences and don’t make a difference in getting to the final product. Another thing I’ve heard is how noisy Vitamix machines are. I found the motor itself to be very quiet but the noise comes from the foods you are processing, like ice, frozen fruits and vegetables and nuts getting thrust around the plastic container - yes, you are going to hear this, and in many cases, it’s going to be louder than you might be used to. I can say it’s not as loud as my 3600 from back in the day. I am really impressed with my Vitamix Ascent X4 and am looking forward to using it to start eating healthier. Yes, getting past the price can be difficult but know that these come with a 10 year warranty - something I’ve never seen with other appliances. With proper use and care, your Vitamix will be passed down generations just like your grandmother's Kitchenaid stand mixer. I give it five stars and highly recommend it.

The Vitamix Ascent X4 is the middle blender in the new X series. We watch a lot of cooking shows and Vitamix blenders are a fixture in most. Having received the product, I can see why - the build quality is top notch. The interface took a little getting used to, but I found it able to handle the recipes we tried and having the provided tamper is nice. We tried the smoothie program using our own recipe. It came out very smooth. But it includes strawberries and blueberries, so the container was a mess with seeds. The self-clean option only cleaned the blades, but to be fair I didn’t expect much more. We also tried the hot soup program using the provided Coconut Red Curry Squash Soup recipe. It was silky smooth. One of the notations is that the soup would be heated by the blades when blending (timer ran for over 10 minutes). I was skeptical but the soup came out piping hot (hotter than when put in blender). We also tried peanut butter but with no installed program we used recipe suggestions. It came out a tad gritty, but tasty. Was afraid to run the mixer too long so maybe would have been smoother if we had or possibly add a touch of oil? Cleaning was as you would expect with something as thick as peanut butter. But running it through process twice did clean up the buildup just under the blades. Unit details; There is a Container Detect that will not operate blender if container is not properly positioned. Sleep mode dims the screen if not used for 30 seconds. Screen saver mode displays if control panel not used for 60 seconds. Error code if unit experiences an issue. Timer when using variable speed or pre-programmed options (that have preset times) Programs are - Smoothie, Frozen Desert, Hot Soup, Frozen Cocktail, Dips & Spreads as well as clean cycle - all have a pre-set time. There are less options with X3 but more with X5. It also has an alert to use the tamper for thicker recipes and/or when the unit is starting to overheat. There is also an option to add 15 seconds but limits its use to 2 times. To access the options there is a center dial (controls variable speeds, 1 through 10, and program selection) with 2 switches on either side – one on left for pulse and one on right for start/stop. Base is sturdy at over 13 lbs and is 7.5 inches tall, 7.75 inches wide and 9.75 inches deep. With container height is about 17 inches – just fitting under our upper cabinets. A quick wipe is all that is needed for cleaning. Has over 40-inch heavy duty 3-pronged power cord. 48-ounce container is clear plastic with a removable lid and center plug to allow use of tamper and is dishwasher safe. Has a built is spout as well. A recipe book is included but is somewhat limited. Comes with 10-year warranty Really no issues with unit at all and seems very versatile. Look forward to trying more recipes and with a 10-year warranty I feel more confident in day-to-day use. Definitely worth a look and would recommend it.

There are blenders and then there Vitamix blenders - the difference is THAT notable in the power of the motor, the consistency of the resulting food and the ease of use (so this is one of those cases where you DO get what you pay for). And that difference is evident from the moment that you pick up the box, with the weight and size of it really making other blenders feel like toys. That continues through the unboxing experience and the (easy) assembly (though I do wish that the tamper holder attached a bit better - it stays in place if the blender is stationary, but quickly seems to fall off if you move the blender at all). The power cord is also nice and thick which should improve long term durability. While I have only used the included 48oz container (which is fine for me), I do look forward to picking up other compatible "self-detect" containers. It's easy to install and remove the container and load it. The programs work well or you can manually blend of course - and you get a lot of power and a smooth, even blend either way. The tamper works well to push the contents towards the blade which means you can blend with less liquid and get a thicker resulting smoothie or frozen beverage. And that last bit - the ability to create a thicker consistency output for a spread, smoothie or dessert - is why you get a Vitamix. The power of the motor, the tamper and the design of the containers are really meant to power through thicker inputs and leave a thicker output (you can of course add liquid to thin it out too) and at that, this blender excels. You also get a nifty recipe book so you can try new things in addition to anything your creativity might come up with. So if you could use an amazingly powerful blender, look no further. Give this Vitamix a try today!

Looking to up your blender game? The Vitamix - Ascent X4 Blender has to be one of the best mixers I have ever used and I am coming from another high end brand blender. Pros: Modern and Premium Self Cleaning Mode 5 Blender Programs Soft grip 48 oz Cons: Soft Grip Handle can slide off While I have used my blenders for many things, I was intrigued to see the digital display showcase soup, smoothie, frozen desserts and its self cleaning program. It has a center dial that is silky smooth in its movement and two switches on the side. The digital display is bright when lit up and is very nice and aesthetically pleasing to look at. Also at the base of the blender there is a holder for the included tamper. This system will alert you when you need to tamp as the mixture is thick etc. The included book had over 30+ recipes to use for this blender which was great as I wanted to test out some milk shakes and smoothies. Testing: Milk Shakes were silky smooth and perfectly blended where the over all consistency was silky and flavor profile was same with every sip. Smoothies were smooth as well and the button to add 15 more seconds was a nice addition as it made it give that extra last bit. In conclusion, If you are looking for a top tier premium blender the Vitamix Ascent X4 Blender will fit that bill and then some. It comes with a 10 year warranty cant beat that.

I just replaced an older Votamix model with this one, not because there were ever any issues with it, but because I wanted a model that could use their food processor. They make amazing smoothies, and the presets all work surprisingly well. I've never had any issues with my Vitamix machines, and they make significantly smoother results than other brands I've used in the past.

If a blender was ever more than a blender, this is it. I have played with every preset and most of the manual settings. This is almost a food processor. There is a salsa recipe that comes in the recipe book. Highly recommended. For smoothies, I put the liquids in first and work my way up to more solid matter. Hit the menu button, and it about 90 seconds, the smoothie is being consumed. Cleanup is a breeze. The parts are 'dishwasher safe' but the self clean does a great job. Just fill the pitcher half way with warm water. Add a couple drops of dish soap. Hit the self clean button....Rinse and let dry. Included along with the recipe book is a tamper and a tamper holder. It simply slides in under the left hand side of the blender and the tamper sits in the shot glass looking cup. The tamper could be confused for a very small wiffle ball bat or Billie club. Yes, my kids have hit each other and me with it. It is hollow and does not hurt, depending on where you are hit. The one oddity I found, and took me a minute to figure out. The lid does not screw on. There are tabs on the edges, simply extend one slightly to remove the lid. The tamper hole screws in though. Overall this is a fantastic blender. Like I said, it is almost a food processor.

I got this primarily for my wife, who loves her small kitchen appliances. She's been using it for chopping/blending/pureeing pretty much anything she can get her hands on with this blender since we received it and hasn't found any item she puts through it that it can't handle. As with any blender it's a bit loud, but with the power that this machine has no amount of noise can make me complain. Fair warning - at "High" , it's really loud! The 10 speed variable motor opens the door for all sorts of variations to textures/chunkiness/smoothness of your blend. This is very welcome as we all have different wants/needs for how our end product turns out. *DO* take the time to read the documentation - it actually is very helpful and doesn't read like stereo instructions. They took the time to prepare something that actually is worth reading and worth your time. Sure, it's a blender, how hard could it be? Not hard at all, but it does give great tips on how to get the most of your blender and maximum perfection every time! Sure, you can get away with a sub-$100 blender, but if you REALLY care about your results, this is the blender to have in your kitchen! Don't loan it out - you'll NEVER GET IT BACK!

I used to have an old Vitamix blender from around 2013. It's still going strong, but I decided to get this as it seemed like a huge upgrade over that one. I was right. This blender is so much better than the old one. For starters, it has a screen that lets you pick multiple different options (Smoothies, Frozen Desserts, Soups, Frozen Cocktails, and Dips & Spreads). It's also got actually buttons rather than levers and comes with a tamper and tamper holder. I can make so many more types of smoothies and shakes with this new blender. It also comes with a recipe book. I don't have to spend time brainstormign what I want to drink; I can just open the recipe book, find a recipe for which I have all the ingredients, and effortlessly blend it together and have a finished drink two minutes later. The only negative I can think of is the tiny jug. For that price, I think a 64 oz. jug should be included and I shouldn't have to purchase one separate for more than a hundred bucks. Over, the Ascent X4 is a solid blender and I'd suggest it to anyone looking for a blender to make smoothies and/or shakes.

The Vitamix Ascent X4 Series blender is built to last. The unit is advertized to last up to 10 times longer than the average blender and it is so sturdy I'm sure this is correct. It comes with a tamper (a rolling pin like cylinder) that you insert through the top of the lid to push ingredients closer to the blades. The tamper has a base that attaches to the unit and a plastic cup sits on it that you keep the tamper in. This eliminates the mess from setting the tamper on the counter between needing to use it. The X4 Series has a menu containing Smoothies, Frozen Desserts, Soups, Dips & Spreads and Frozen Cocktails. If you are looking to make any of these just load the Container select from the menu and press Start. The Ascent X4 will take it from there. The Recipe Book is another plus. Besides the normal ingredients to make a smoothie there are a couple of pages describing how to "Boost Your Smoothie Nutrition". In addition to the items listed in the menu you also have recipes to make Smoothie Bowls, Nut Butters, Frappes, Non-Diary Milks, Spice Blends and Dressings. So far have loved this!
