Id pay the extra to get a go pro just for the battery life but its an okay value action camera. The quality is good but battery life is bad

It's a no brainer at this price. It's literally at least $100 less than the next feasible 4K option. Don't even think about or bother reading the complaints from some of these people- they obviously expect perfection without paying for it. I'm going to buy another one as a gift for a teenager- perfect since they won't take proper care of a more expensive option.

Good quality materials, good quality pictures and movies, Battery is not what i was expecting, drawn really fast.

This was purchased with reward points. I thought I could use it as a cheaper alternative to another brand. This wasn’t the case. If connected to WiFi battery just drops off and dies within seconds. The side door that hides connections doesn’t stay closed right. Picture quality is good, but next to nothing for stability.

I wouldnt give a go pro to my 4 kids if you paid me. They'd lose it in a second. This on the other hand is 1/6th the cost so I wouldn't be upset if it broke or was lost. I was surprised as to the quality of the video taken by this little thing and have had fun with all the video they made. They never lost it either so back in the drawer til the next adventure. Plenty good enough for the average user , no complaints. Took off a star because the quality is not the best for a camera but really what can you expect for this price

For the price of this camera, it's a good buy. Similar features of a Go Pro, but a fraction of the cost. Very easy to use.

I would have gave it a 5/5 if it wasn’t for the battery dying so quickly. Besides that it takes good quality videos.

Good camera, takes good video and snapshots. Video does drain the battery quickly, so 4 instead of 5 stars.

Most attempts to power on the unit failed. Either it would freeze on the flash start up screen or didn’t turn on anymore. Either way to fix it I had to remove the camera battery. The included remote watch battery was dead. when it was replaced with a spare the remote served the purpose of controlling the cam. As for the WiFi feature that can sync with an available app, it started to drain my fully charged battery down to 20% within 10 mins. The viewable angles of the camera screen was very narrow. So much that looking at the screen 8” away with both eyes had a dark and grey scaled image. Moving the screen back farther away helped, but the image isn’t sharp. I didn’t test the the quality of the actual recordings because I knew that I would be returning it.

Nice and priced right. Came with accessories but wished it would have come with a strap to mount on your body.

So far, this camera has been really nice. It’s not perfect, the microphone is pretty low and muffled, making most all audio unusable, however the video quality is just fine. It is simple to use, and I haven’t found the battery to be bad at all. I suspect many of the complaints about battery life boil down to using the WiFi and phone app with the camera. But as a stand alone, it works well. Definitely a nice starter or extra action camera

Haven't had a chance to use this, it's a Xmas gift, but from reviews seemed the perfect starter cam for my niece. She wants to post videos so hopefully this will do the trick!

I repeat DO NOT BUY! Even though this camera is on sale for $50, it's for a reason. The quality on this camera is horrible. I was filming with it and it was one of the worst videos I have ever seen. Don't get me wrong, for $50 it came with a decent amount of accessories and it's a camera. I get it. However, you will be very disappointed with how long the battery lasts and how the videos show up when you review them over. There is no way to control the aperture of the lens, nor can you really tell a difference of quality when switching from 720 all the way to 4k. I was reading reviews of this camera and thought, "maybe this is actually a decent camera, plus it's on sale". Just save your money and listen to the reviews. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. I ended up returning it 4 hours later. I had to scrap the video I shot and start over with another camera.

Very good camera! Best bang for buck when it comes to action camera!

With 2 daughters playing travel softball on different teams, I was looking for another Go Pro, but for the price I thought I'd give the Vivitar a try. It would have been ok, but the lens didn't capture the entire field, which was a deal breaker, not to mention there didn't seem to be a way to purchase spare batteries.

This camera is easy to use and much less expensive than others.

Needs longer battery life but overall good camera.
