I HATE this camcorder.

Owned for 4 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an older model Sony CX405 for many years which I loved, but when I needed a quick replacement after it was damaged I was surprised to see the CX405 was still selling but at a higher price than the newer featured Vivitar Digital Camcorder. I took a chance on the Vivitar and have regretted it since. I've missed so many irreplaceable family moments because this camera is unnecessarily complicated, if you accidentally press the wrong button, this thing might be in photo mode or timelapse video mode, unfortunately, I didn't catch it until I downloaded the video after it was too late. Other caveats, this thing is slow to turn on and makes an annoyingly loud chiming noise when it finally does. I have a list of other issues with this camera but short for me is I need something simple that works, I never missed the moments with my Sony, and I didn't have to check a bunch of settings to make a video as I do with the Vivitar. The final result I will be going back to Best Buy to get another CX405 because cheap and fancy isn't always reliable.

I came upon this one and loved that it has 4K quality. It is so much nicer than my old one and can take all the videos I need.

horrible products, do not waste your money

I don't know if this one is deficient but it is literally the worst product I have bought in a long time.

bad quality for the price

Owned for 6 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It definitely wasnt 4k and had a very weird look to the videos after you recorded them. although the screen is touchscreen and is user friendly, the quality is not good and the lowlight shots are worse. it does have nightvision but still is terrible quality. i returned it asap and got the sont handycam. i don’t recommend this and would say to go a little more expensive with the sony one.

New card, same problem

The overall low ratings of this device is warranted, with terrible video quality when zooming. If you just need a basic device for up close video or pictures it is ok, otherwise upgrade. You have to go into the setting to make the video look high quality and even when you do it still doesn't look good. The buttons do not work or will behave like they are being pressed twice and the actual video files can't go past 13 minutes which makes it completely worthless for what I need. Yes it will keep recording and just make another file but I have no clue how much is lost between the cuts and it is a complete unnecessary hassle to edit the files together.
