    Warning to composite cable users

    Hopefully I can save you the couple of days of frustration I spent trying to hook this TV up using a composite cable (yellow-white-red). We have a Verizon FIOS adapter (not the main set top box) for this kitchen TV. Verizon is still in the 1990s with this technology - all they offer is a coax connector or a composite cable. From a technical viewpoint, composite is much more preferable than coax due to coax being more susceptible to noise and signal degradation. We investigated on line and decided that this Vizio D24h-G9 was the best choice to replace our kitchen TV. I saw in the specs that it uses a "phono port" connector that combines composite and component functionality - only one type may be used at a time. The "phono port" is a 3.5mm TRRS four conductor connection. Fine, I looked in my box of cables and found two perfect cables: yellow-white-red RCA on one end and 3.5mm TRRS plug on the other. OK, down to Best Buy we go and picked up the TV. Of course, the composite input doesn't work. I tried many combinations of switching the inputs around and...nothing. Spent about an hour on the Vizio support chat and they had no idea. Finally, after many hours found a "Phono Port FAQ" on the Vizio site where they recommend one adapter cable on Amazon which you apparently HAVE to use with your composite cable to mate properly with the way Vizio wired the "phono port". Here's the problem. There's no real standards on these TRRS connectors. So it's not like most other A/V cables. You can't assume that if you have the right connectors on the ends that the cable will work properly because the manufacturers hook them up in no particular way. And Vizio doesn't document the required pinouts - neither does the magic adapter cable from Amazon that actually works. Do yourself a favor and get that magic cable from Amazon before you buy this TV if you need the composite cable hookup. And yeah, Best Buy doesn't carry it. The TV looks nice and I guess I'll like it more after the pain of the last few days fades away.

    Some issues, but I worked around them

    Image quality is pretty good. The sound is horrible, as with all small flat screens these days. So of course I connected computer speakers. But the tv doesn’t have any RCA audio outputs, and the headphone jack doesn’t work well with speakers, so I had to buy an optical-to-analog converter to make use of the optical audio output. I picked this smart tv, because the Youtube TV live tv app is included. Navigation within that app, and to other apps is quite slow. I use a Roku streaming stick on another tv, and it’s not fast, but it’s definitely faster than the Vizio. I’m tempted to get a Roku stick for this Vizio. I don’t like the remote control. It has a curved back and curved sides, which make it hard to hold onto. And it would spin around when placed on the table. I stuck a couple self-adhesive felt pads to the bottom to stop that. It’s also hard to open to get at the batteries. The legs on this tv are short. The bottom edge of the tv is only 1.6” above the surface. I had to buy a riser to elevate it higher. In the end, it’s working fine, but I only give it 2 stars (Fair) because of the shortcomings listed above. I wish there was one manufacturer that would build a premium small tv for 60 dollars more; it would be worth it.

    Does Not Support Prime Video

    I bought two of these TV's for use in bedrooms and mainly for use with Netflix and Prime Video, but after not being able to get the Prime App to open on either TV I called Vizio and they said Prime Video is not longer supported on this TV. He seemed surprised I even had the app on the TV. I hadn't installed the app if just came on the TV and is show on the advertising on the front of the box (you can't install any apps on this TV, you get certain apps and to view anything from an app it doesn't have you need to use a mobile device to "cast" it to the TV - frustrating you can't just download the apps you want and delete those you don't). If you want Prime Video and the ability to add apps do not buy this TV. I returned both TV's the same day for a Insignia Fire TV and they work great.

If Amazon in not launching as a general rule you can preform a factory reset and this will resolve any registration problems. If still not working please contact our customer support at 877-878-4946.     Good WiFi reception with integrated YouTube tv

    I cut my cable, replaced it with YouTube tv.. not much expecting from vizio but when I realized it came with 100 free channels and YouTube tv app integrated to its system and linked it to my google home assistant this kitchen tv Is so convenient to me while cooking... no need to touch the remote for my viewing pleasure while hands are busy... just tell GHA and tv will follow!! the picture and sound is more than what I expected, menu is intuitive! This vizio is the most smart tv you can get for this amount... and I have shopped around enough to say this!! WiFi signal reception of this tv is strong and stable no chapping and lagging on both audio and video outputs! It saved me lots of time and effort to run a hdmi cable from my router to the kitchen!!! Very happy for this unit.. vizio has impressed me (my very first vizio)

    I love this tv. I watched the demo and I never saw a demo so sharp and colors so true. Vizio was my last choice in brands and then it turns out it had the best picture. It’s loaded. The tv has everything. I was unable to get it to find my iPhone hotspot. It found all the neighbors. I have to work On that. I’ve been watching dvds on it. The sound is good also. In my house it looks a little smaller than it does in the store. It’s still a good size. I can put the tv wherever I need it to be. Be cool to watch it on the deck outside in the summertime. It’s wider than my old tv. I like that. I was told I could connect my laptop to it for larger viewing. Easy to operate for settings. Nice smaller tv. LOVE it. Amazing picture.

    I bought two of these on sale for my grandkids for Christmast. The picture was great and it included chromecast for app streaming. Great picture. The older grandchild loves it and seems to have adapted well to the Chromecast streaming. It works great!! My younger grandchild had issues with her tv. It would not stream well. We ended up returning that one. However, I'm not sure if it is more a wireless problem due to the distance from the wireless router. So the tv may have been okay. Overall great little tv for the price.

    I bought this VIZIO Tv on black friday 2018, plugged it in, wouldnt connect to the internet and kept powering off. So i exchanged it for another one same issues. Exhanged again, this time for the similar INSIGINA brand tv, that one wouldnt even turn on. After 3 DOA tvs i finally asked for my money back. I used to only buy my electronics from Best Buy, but this isnt my first occurance of these situations happening, last time was buying a laptop. Sadly, i will no longer be a best buy customer.

    We got this little tv for my granddaughter when she stays on weekends and we had to make sure it was a smart tv with all the apps and it is! It’s perfect for her room. It has a great picture for kids or teenagers rooms. Every Vizio we have ever purchased has lasted us years. I’ll come back and edit if we have any issues so far this is a great tv purchase for our family. I recommend it for sure!

    We purchased this TV for my husbands office. The smart functions were a must. Over all setup was easy and picture is great for the space. The only issue was the Amazon Prime app would not load initially. I finally had to turn to Google and found it was a very common issue. Luckily for us one of the work arounds worked and we finally got it to load. No issues since then with it pulling up.

    The 24" screen took some getting used to, but I didn't want anything bigger. Easy to set up and the picture quality is good. I would give it a 5 star if the volume were better. When streaming, I've had the volume up to 100 and it could have been louder. My other tv, I have the volume on 15. Overall, it's a good tv for the price.

    I have only had to restart the tv about every time I turn it off it goes back to factory settings then I have to go through and of the set up again thinking bout taking it back and exchanging it for another I have only had it for 3 or 4 weeks

    My son wanted a TV really bad and I wasn’t sure which TV to buy. Found this littleVizio at a great price and free shipping. I’m additin the TV has easy smart features that it even has apps like Prime TV, YouTube and Netflix. Even though I limit my kids TV usage this Tv is very easy for them to use on their own.

    The TV is a great addition for my kitchen, good resolution, easy access to all the apps, the only complain I have is WiFi connection, sometimes doesn't connect and I know is not my internet service cause all my other TVs don't have this problem. Other than that I am very pleased with this TV.

    We needed a small smart TV for our workout room, and this was the most affordable option. Inexpensive but delivers a crisp picture, solid sound, and you don't need a PhD to figure out the smart TV functions. The expression is "you get what you pay for," but in this case I'd say you get a good deal more than that.

    Bought this for my son's bedroom, thinking it was a good deal at $99.99. I should have spent the extra $30-40 for a newer/better/upgraded model. The 24" and 40" models DO NOT SUPPORT 5G. They still employ Wireless-N (802.11n 2.4 ghz), so expect nothing but buffering. Sadly, this will be a return.

    This is a great little TV to have as a monitor for your security system, connecting to laptop as second screen, or just watching the smart tv function with WiFi. Very convenient and a space saver for my desk, now I can do all of the things I just said from the convenience of my desk.

    Set up turned on first thing it did when connected to internet it started updating took 3 hrs to update connected to my stream provider said it took Hulu but chrome screen is terrible compared to Samsung this thing has a Jethro Bodine education enough said
