Customers enjoy the impressive sound quality and tight bass of the 3.1.2-Channel Soundbar. They appreciate the clear vocals and three channels, as well as the Dolby Atmos output when connected directly via HDMI. However, some customers have experienced connectivity issues, such as the volume turning down by itself.

This sound bar seemed to be the best their could be, with Dolby Atmos sound and a 10 inch outwards facing Subwoofer, but it just didn't want to work properly. I couldn't get the sound quality to become what i wanted. It would always have an offset balance of bass, baritone, treble, alto, and soprano, no matter which equalizer setting I chose. It was super hard to setup from the beginning too. The user manual was hard to understand. It could have been the perfect sound bar, but it just wasn't.

Hello Lambo, VIZIO’s Sound Bar audio systems are designed to give you a realistic theater experience. You should hear the bass rumble during explosions, planes flying, earthquakes, action scenes, and anything that would normally have a deep tone. You may not get these tones when watching something like a sitcom or the nightly news. If you have a VIZIO television there is a channel on the ‘Watchfree’ service that plays action movies with no subscription or rental fee, this might be a good place to find some content to test your sound bars limits. If you are already watching content that should be giving you bass. If you like with have agents that will adjust settings and help optimize your sound bar. Please call us at 1-855-833-3221

Bought this in May 2019 and have only had trouble out of it. Streaming services work perfectly but sound doesn't want to sync up with my DishNetwork receiver. Thought I would try the digital optical input only to find out the cable doesn't fit. When I contacted Vizio they were more concerned with when I purchased it than if there was a defect. When I contacted Best Buy I got cut off. No surprise there. No more sound bars for me!

Perfect Atmos Configuration!

I've been researching several different Atmos sound systems and I'm so glad that I waited for this Vizio 3.1.2 configuration with Dolby Atmos to hit the market. My small condo does not have room for rear satellite speakers, so this Vizio configuration is a great way to experience Dolby Atmos audio. The large and rather aesthetically appealing sound bar has upward firing speakers built into the bar, so you get true surround sound from above you (don’t be fooled by other bars that only offer virtual or simulated height channels!!!). The sound produced by this bar is crisp and clear - VERY impressive! The 10” subwoofer is equally impressive – cinematic bass quality. The set up was a breeze. I am extremely happy with my purchase and would highly recommend!

I have several Vizio devices including the tv I connected this to. Use the optical connection and extremely poor sound. Use the suggested HDMI connection (speaker to tv) and sound is ok, but it loses sync with tv, turns off, turns on WITH sound when Tv is off (and no light on the sound bar) and now most recently, can’t even connect using HDMI (after one month). WORST PURCHASE IVE EVER MADE.

I've owned 3 different soundbars since they became the trend over larger Home Theater satellite systems with AV Receivers and this Vizio unit is easily the most impressive that I've owned in terms of channel separation, clarity, and voice isolation.
Let me get this out of the way, the box that this unit comes in is HUGE and extremely bottom heavy. While it only says the entire unit weighs ~40lb. it feels much heavier due to the MASSIVE subwoofer that will be at the bottom of the unit as you try to drag it into your home. If you have to go up stairs or into an elevator through an apartment building....don't be afraid to enlist the aid of friends or a handtruck. It really feels like there's a body stuffed in the woofer housing.
Build quality is excellent as I mentioned, the soundbar is long around 4.5' and the subwoofer is a massive cube. The middle picture of the thin woofer is incorrect, the first picture is accurate as this woofer really has some size and heft to it. Sadly, the sound and bass did not quite match up to the impressive looks of the woofer, and the sound from the main soundbar either.
Overall the set-up was a bit confusing actually. I used the quickstart guide and have a bit of a non-standard application for the unit which contributed, but there wasn't a clear-cut way of telling of the unit was actually getting power, or what input the unit was set to compared to some of my earlier soundbars that had a LED character display on the front. This unit has an LED "dot" on the far left with indicator codes/combos, but I didn't see them initially so I wasn't even sure if the unit was working or not.
In any case, I was trying to get the soundbar hooked up to my gaming PC which is attached to a large 4K TV, so I plugged the video from my PC HDMI 2.0 to the HDMI1 input of my TV, then I ran another HDMI from the HDMI4 ARC channel back to the ARC input of the soundbar....and....nothing. Again, the LED lights and not being able to tell for sure what input I was connected to didn't help. The remote has a LED character panel showing the input, but it wasn't clear if this was active or not since I wasn't sure if the soundbar was powered because I didn't see the dot LED indicators. It would be nice if Vizio added some kind of chime or a small power LED on the top power button.
In any case, I was able to finally get everything working and much to my surprise, I was also able to get Dolby Atmos surround sound supported after I picked my input and went to Sound Properties in Windows 10 to configure the sound, it had Dolby Atmos as an option! I also had to download a free Dolby App from the Win10 store that walked me through this process, and by the end I was getting great Dolby Atmos sound from my PC games, Netflix, and some Youtube content.
Overall, extremely impressed with this unit. The only feature I didn't really get to check out was Google Assistant since we mainly use iPhone and Alexa for that kind of stuff. Maybe an Alexa version next? Now its time to upgrade the rest of the soundbars around the house to Atmos!!!!!
