Posted .Hello Msbear, you would need an antenna or a cable/satellite service for local channels. If you are connected to the internet you can get access to the WatchFree input other free applications.

Great bang for your buck
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV in 2018 when I wanted a budget TV for a small space. It’s been great still works great. It has decent picture and sound quality for the price. My only gripe with the TV is the smart functionality has deteriorated immensely to the point where I hate using the smart apps due to the slow speed and functionality but I do have a PS5 connected to it so I don’t have to bother with the smart interface.

Great Picture; Poor Software
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a 32” TV, the picture and black levels were really good due to the full array local dimming backlighting. The sound was also decent for a 32” TV. Google Chrome casting worked great from apps on a tablet too. However, we ran into a couple issues which made this TV a pain in the butt to keep. If you turn the TV off while Netflix is on, turn the TV back on and change inputs to watch over-the-air antenna channels, you will not be able to change channels using the remote or the phone app remote until going back to Netflix then back to antenna. When you’re a cord cutter like my parents, who primarily watch Netflix and local TV, this is a big pain to do on a regular basis. We reset the TV and it started doing it for both Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. We exchanged it for another unit, same thing. (We ran through remote and TV reset steps with support on both.). A Vizio technician came out and verified that it was a software issue. It wouldn’t be as annoying if there were a TV button on the remote, instead you have to select the input button and push it 3 or 4 times. My mother was going to keep the TV and just deal with the above until it stopped connecting to the apps. It was connected to the internet but it didn’t register it as such. Nothing would reconnect it allowing it to open Netflix except for a 30 minute long factory reset process. There are other interface, settings and remote nuisances which were annoying such as the no TV (antenna) button on the remote. It was slow to open apps taking up to 5 seconds. This time we exchanged it for the just released Samsung N5300. Not as deep darks but it’s better in just about every other way. Zero problems and a lot of conveniences. The smart and antenna interfaces are much better. You just hit exit on the remote to get to TV and there is a built in guide for local stations which is really convenient. My mom likes that the remote has a sleep timer button. It’s zippy - entering an app is instant. Note that you need to change sound to Optimized but I’ll probably get my mom a small sound bar. Cannot recommend this Vizio with all of the issues it had aside from a good picture.

Posted .Hello Stanley, Thank you for the feedback. A few things that might help you get the kind of picture quality you are looking for. First, make sure the Display is getting a hi-definition or 4K signal. This means making sure that you're source device (like a cable/satellite box) is capable of HD or 4K, and that it's connected to your Display with an HDMI cable that can deliver the HD or 4K picture. You can also change between pre-set picture modes on the display by pressing the PIC button on your remote. This will toggle between a few picture setting that look good in different situations. If your display is in a bright room try Vivid or Calibrated. If it’s in a dimmer room try Calibrated Dark.

GREAT TV for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the TV back in early November during a sale and the only complaint that I had was that the remote would randomly stop working. Contacted Vizio and they emailed me back the next day with a possible solution. I did what they asked in the Email and IT WORKED! Great customer service! The software is a little sluggish but nothing I cannot deal with. Haven't been able to figure out how to connect with my Alexa yet. The picture quality is great and I use the analog audio output for external speakers.

My First Smart TV review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV was purchased as a graduation gift last year and it has lots of good features. The only downfall is the main platform (Smartcast) is slow from time to time. Sometimes, it crashes and I would unplug it and plug it back in to make it work again, and it usually works. It's still a good 32 inch TV with excellent picture, amazing smart features, and decent use of the remote. Plus, Vizio is an American-made TV brand. It offers so much for a small price.

I don't recommend
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the picture and the sound. I also like that Vizio has its own channels to watch TV. I don't like that it is not user intuitive. Trying to get around on this is difficult, and I'm tech savvy. There is no way my elderly dad would be able to find his way around. I also hate the lag on it. I press a button, and it takes forever for the TV to respond to the command. My partner hates it. Oh, it will randomly turn on for no reason. I've had it for 5.5 years, and it's still working. If I had the chance to go back in time, I wouldn't make this purchase.

Excellent picture quality while on a budget
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv absolutely satisfied my want for a modern full HD tv. I simply wanted full HD, 120 ghz, and an affordable price tag and after my research this is the model i settled on. All my wants/needs are met and i couldnt be happier. Excellent tv for gaming on my PS4. I didnt necessarily need the "smart" features such as the streaming apps, however they are definately a bonus. I would reccoment this model to anyone looking for a good picture on a budget.

Many features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WiFi smart cast offers easy access to netflix, hulu and amazon prime if you have accounts with them. Response is a little slow. Picture preferences offer several views. The remote is horrible. It is cheaply made and one of the worst I 've ever used. Feels flimsy and overly sensitive, hard to navigate and to use keyboard. Entering my account information for subscription services like netflix took many frustrating attempts because of the poor quality remote. Other than the remote, the picture quality is excellent.

It’s about time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Years have gone by where we have dealt with terrible small TV’s no where near the level of 50” plus TV’s. Resolution is outstanding 1080p with crystal clear picture. All the features of a large TV except small TV. I use it also as a monitor for my laptop. You will be happy with this TV and it currently outshines all other TV’s in the 32” to 39” including LG’s and Samsung’s for 50 bucks less.

on screen display teeny tiny and other things
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I chose this 32" Vizio Smart TV for my bedroom because of the pricepoint and that it was one of the few 32” models that had 1080p display. I use an HD Antenna for my broadcast. There are 3 things that I do NOT like about this TV. One is the on screen display. Even with my glasses, I cannot make out the channel numbers on the screen. They are very very tiny, and basically unreadable as well as all the other on-screen info. What was Vizio thinking? Knock 1 star off for that. Another is the remote. It is small and cumbersome. May be ok for someone with tiny hands but it literally takes me 2 hands to type in a channel number because of where the keypad is located and the buttons are the size of pinheads. I like a remote that I can pick up and use with 1 hand. At least I can buy a universal remote that has a lighted keypad and bigger buttons at Walmart for $12 to remedy this. Knock another star. The final thing I do not like is the fact that there is no built-in TV guide in the Vizio menu. When you use an antenna, you are not blessed with a TV guide channel. My Samsung offers a wonderful TV guide for HD antenna. It takes a few taps on the remote to get there but at least it's there. Vizio doesn't even offer this TV guide anywhere in it's menu options like Samsung does. Knock another star. For these reasons, I would not buy another Vizio TV. I will say that the picture quality is great. But when you cannot even read the on-screen display with your glasses on because the numbers are so microscopic, I do not like that. I guess I will stick with Samsung for future TV purchases.
