Everything about this TV is great. The price is affordable and the setup is easy. I also use this TV for my wired cameras and they look good. Cool !

A nice entry level HD set

I bought this after trying sets from two other makers, both of which had problems. This one turned out well, and was easy to set up and adjust. It is hardly state-of-the art, but is perfect for a second set in a bedroom. It has one feature that is much better than the other two brands that I tried: the attachment of the legs. Each leg has a sturdy post in the middle that fits into an opening in the bottom of the set, and is then secured by two screws through the back. This results in a very strong, well balanced base.

Good picture, poor sound, Smartcast is intrusive

Picture quality is good for the money, but sound quality is pretty bad. And for someone who uses it with cable service, not as a Smart TV, the constant requests for agreement with Vizeo and Google terms and conditions, which I do not wish to agree to, are intrusive. Futhermore, the constant attempts at signing me up for Smart TV fucntionality, every time we turn the unit on, get in the way of basic cable TV -watching . Apparently, the TV is not smart enough to figure out, after two weeks of watching, and about 30 attempts to get us agree to Smartcast terms, that we connect to a signalvvia HDMI port I every time we turn it on, because it never returns to HDMI port I input, and we have to reset that every time we turn it on and want to watch TV. And, as others have said, the remote control is way too small. And did I say the audio was poor; do not buy without a sound bar or surround system to use instead of the internal microscopically small speakers. Thus is it apparent that Viseo really only markets this TV, at least at this low price point in order to monetize a record of your TV watching habits. I do wish there was an equavelent TV without the Smartcast feature, but if there was, I expect they'd have to charge more for it.

I can't say enough good things about this TV. The picture is great, the sound is good and it has enough features for most people. It's used in a bedroom and the 32" screen is more than adequate. I have Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu and they're all built-in so that's a big plus. P.S. I turned a similar 24" Vizio (which was a little small for the bedroom) into a monitor for my laptop and that's been a major bonus!

Not happy with clutter and data collection

Bought this today. Picture quality is good, I think -- I stopped using it before I could even watch a minute of a show. The first trouble began during setup when Vizio insisted that it needs to monitor my activity (albeit anonymously they say), but I must agree to the data collection if I wanted to continue using their TV (I guess it is still theirs even after I paid for it). Then, I relented only to be presented with clutter with what seemed like an Amazon Firestick-wannabe screen and a whole gamut of preloaded apps most of which I will never use nor can delete. Frustrating experience. Thank you, Vizio. You can have your TV back while I take my money back, too. Returning tomorrow.

Hello FrEs1, you can disable viewing data by going to Menu->System-> Reset and Admin and turn Viewing Data off. This feature also does not need to be accepted during initial setup. Once in the SmartCast screen you can reorder the applications so the ones you like are towards the beginning. We are continually evaluating new applications for addition to the SmartCast screen. In the meantime, you can cast any Chromecast enabled applications to the television from your mobile device. VIZIO

    Perfect, and excellent for streaming

Picked this up for my shop, and it's fantastic. I connected it to the Internet with a cable, not wireless, and it's perfect on streaming. Menu software is excellent as well. With a little tweaking, I was able to get it to control my Bose Sound Dock, eliminating the need for two remotes. Picture quality is excellent.

    Compares well with peer sets

The setup and operation was a snap, with good WiFi reception from my other room's WiFi router. Integrates with no problem with my TiVo satellite box HDMI output, and my DVD HDMI output. I am using the analog audio output to a Bose audio unit to get good quality sound, that I'll replace with a soundbar over time. The 10w audio was a bit tinny to my ear, as I'm replacing a 20w audio HDTV. For others, perhaps the audio would be acceptable. That'll be true of any 32" range HDTV with 10w audio -- there are almost no 32" TVs with >10w audio. SOAPBOX: It's like the days when toy started the "batteries not included" devolution. The manufacturers compete on price (blame us?!) and so now it's "quality audio not included". Like its peers 10w sound (5w per channel) is simply insufficient to produce good sound, and the 32" range is unlikely to be hooked up to a home theater audio system. So now just like buying batteries separate from the toy, one must pay at least $100 extra for a separate sound bar, and the included internal audio goes to waste. Sigh.

Great bang for your buck! The apps alone make this tv worth buying. Great overall picture and sound quality, but the free apps produce 100s of free channels and movies with a pretty good selection to choose from. Will be buying a bigger version very soon!!

doesn't work out of the box

We purchased this tv for our daughter for her college dorm room. after giving it to her, we wanted to show it to her and see the really nice picture it had. Well, so much for that. We got it out of the box, plugged it in. It started the setup and got to the first screen where it asks what language. We couldn't get the tv to do anything. changed batteries in the remote, held the remote inches from the tv sensor, still nothing. We looked up online to see what trouble shooting we could do. turned it off and on by the switch on the back of the tv., unplugged the tv and held the power switch down for 15 seconds, took the batteries out of the remote and pushed all of the buttons. put everything back together and tried it again, still nothing!! We called the 1-877 number on the back of the remote, the woman had us do all the things we already did, still nothing. There is supposed to be a light on the remote when you push a button, guess what- no light. so at the minimum the remote is dead, This tv is going back and we are getting the Samsung we were looking at. What a waste of time and a big disappointment for our daughter. GREAT GIFT!!!!! thank god we wanted to test it before our daughter went to college.

Purchased this TV on Sunday afternoon, took it home and set it all up picture in the smart cast is great! Went to hook up my cable and Xbox via HDMI CORD and NOTHING! Tried every cord in my house that works on 3 other TVs I have 1 being the same exact VIZIO in a 65 inch! Gave up Sunday came home Monday from work and Wiggled the cord around a few times picture would pop up and go away, got the Xbox to work for 30 mins then back to NO INPUT screen! Came home from work today Tuesday July 9th 2019 and took it back to Best Buy on Columbus Blvd in South Philadelphia 19148 exchanged it out for the exact same TV brought it home again and the exact same thing is happening with the 2 HDMI PORTS! I’m wondering if it is a bad batch of HDMI ports or something internal just very weird this happened on 2 different TVs purchased from here! I will be returning it tomorrow for my money back!

This tv began having display issues (verticle lines and screen turning purple and white) when it was not quite 6 years old. My husband had a Vizio TV which did the same thing after 5 years. This TV was a bedroom TV and so not used that much. I have 2 other tvs (NOT Vizio) from 2010 and 2012 which are still functioning perfectly. I would say Vizio is poor quality and will never buy another Vizio TV.

My new Vizio TV broke down 4 months after buying

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought my brand new VIZIO 32" D-Series 1080p Smart HDTV in February 2018. A few weeks later, the company had to send out a repair person to replace everything on the inside (motherboard, speakers, etc) except the display due to a buzzing audio problem. Now, four months later (June 2018), the company has to replace the entire TV because the screen has gone permanently black. On top of that, it will take almost a week for the replacement TV to arrive -- which isn't even a brand new replacement. Vizio is sending a "recertified" TV that someone else had returned to the company. The company assures me that it will be "just like new" -- which means little given that my previous brand new Vizio TV was a poorly manufactured dud. Then I have to haul the broken TV to a UPS location, even though I don't a car. Is my situation rare? I've googled around to see if others have experienced this black screen of death problem -- and yes, Vizio is notorious for it, as well as numerous other issues, like violating people's privacy. Vizio TVs apparently have a disturbingly bad track record of breaking down outside the warranty period. In addition, other former owners have posted their stories about the company telling them tough luck, your out-of-warranty TV is not fixable at all, and would you like to buy a discounted replacement TV from us again (even though the discounted TV would be more expensive than from other retailers). Sure, the display quality was good while it lasted. But holy heaven, I have never had so many problems with a brand new TV before. I would recommend to my friends to stay away from this company.

Sony's updates over the years have rendered the interface unusably slow. Like you click a button on the remote, and the TV may take 5+ seconds to respond to it. Native apps like Sling or Netflix similarly take many seconds to respond to the remote, and may hang. I know it's not my internet service (I have gig fiber, and the Samsung TV in the living room works great with it).

I've used this TV for a couple of months now and find it very annoying. Here's why. The remote has to be aimed very accurately at one small spot else it will be ignored. There is no adjustment for the sound tone quality other than volume. The picture brightness is very limited. And, there is no "grid" function to show you what's playing now and coming up. If none of this bothers you then you may enjoy this TV. I should have stuck to Samsung!

Hello Sparks, there are a couple setting in the TV's audio settings tha adjusting to off may result in a better sound quality for you. Turning off Surround Sound and Volume Leveling in the Audio menu helps some people find and audio performance they prefer. We have removed the guide functionality on our TV's as most people get that functionality through cable and satellite boxes. If you are having trouble with your back light not being bright enough and you remote please give us a call at 877-878-4946. VIZIO

For $200 I expected more. The first day, I wanted to watch Netflix, but the remote would not click on my name but the menu and settings button worked, had to turn TV off and back on. Next day, it buffered for about 30 min, I could not exit, back out, anything. Had to turn tv off and on again. Returning!!!!

A decent enough TV but lacks many common features. Biggest issue is that its not a very bright image and will not work well in a sunny room. Even at 100% backlight its a fairly dim image. Vivid mode might be required.

    Issues With Apps

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I like the fact that the remote has direct access to 6 apps. Too bad 3 of them have issues. Netflix, cannot watch anything and get the the message "We're having trouble playing this title right now. tvq-pm-100 (5.2.102)" Crackle, can watch the ads just fine, but when any program starts to play I get "Uh-oh, something went wrong." Vudu, Trailers and ads play fine, after that all I get is "Playback error Sorry, the video player has stopped working. Please try again." I spent close to an hour online with Vizio Support using Live Agent Chat. 3/22/2019 agents name is Booker. Case # 17150135 Tried all the suggestions that the agent told me to do and then he said, "Okay if that is the case then there should be no problems on the TV side. I would reach out to you Centurylink for this issue as it seems there is something in your network blocking it from using apps properly." So now I am supposed to have my ISP help me fix my Vizio TV? I told the agent that I get all these apps using my other Vizio TV with VIA apps and another TV with an Amazon Firestick. Final response from agent "Yup, they run on different operating systems. Something is blocking the apps from being able to retrieve data properly. Century link should be able to help in this circumstance."
