The TV is " Awesome" . It has been a little getting use to the Vivid 4K color , cause I was use to the every day High Definition , but once You adjust the color to your liking You will expirrience an amazing spectrum of color . Watch a movie like " Avengers" or " X-Men" or even "Mad Max" and enjoy the wonderful color it has to offer . If you stand in front of it you will notice pixelation and it sorta looks Bad , but when You see it from a good Distance it gives You what You want to see , Amazing color . The world of 4K is broad and pending the brand and price it will give You more , but this Vizio 40in D series I am truly Happy and Satisfied and recommend . I bought as an upgrade for My bedroom from an older Vizio model 32 in and it is more than I expected . I believe the 40 in has already been replaced by a 43 in but they are improving every time . Just take the time and compare and You also will see what I saw , Give it a shot and You won't regret it .

I have a 27" 1440P IPS gaming monitor and I have been trying to find an adequate replacement for my older AOC 27" 1080p TN monitor that I used as a 2nd monitor. I have tried 4K monitors but they weren't HDCP compliant so no 4K streaming would play on them despite their high speed HDMI. I thought I might give the Vizio a try. It's 14ms response is glacially slow compared to a monitor but thanks to reviewers here I gave it a go. It makes a great monitor and even better TV. I play Doom at 2160p with a EVGA GTX1060 as a secondary monitor with no stutters, tears, artifacts and great frame rates. Same with every game that supports 4K resolution,. The Netflix 4K streaming is incredible (Stranger Things, Narcos, Orange Is the New Black, etc). It seems to be the last of the tuner equipped TV's as well. For the same price as a 28" 4K monitor I now have most of the better streaming features of my Fire Stick, a TV, and a great monitor. The speaker is adequate but it also outputs over variable stereo jacks and HDMI. It was plug and play with Win10. It was light enough for me to use my articulating wall mount that should only handle a 32". I have a 70" Vizio E series 1080P TV and I just don't see that much difference with the budget D series. Very happy with the TV and with BB's return policy you risk nothing to give it a try. The only negative I can say is the presets for me are kind of a waste. I run on either Computer or Game. Vivid is atomicallly bright and the other three are either too dark or have unrealistic hues. Other negative is the WORST remote I have ever used. So small and crowded I constantly hit the wrong button and impossible to see in a dark room and just not well laid out. It is also impossible to set up wireless when connected to an ethernet cable and for some reason it shows about half of my actual speed when connected to a wired connection. Given all that those are just annoyances to me and definitely not deal killers especially at $379!

With calibration, this TV is pretty good. I have it wall mounted in my bedroom and it was cheaper than any 1080p TVs of it's size. I've only tested a few 4k streams from YouTube, but the picture looks great. I went to another review site and utilized their calibration, which helps correct the color and contrast. For the price, it's a great value. Most of the "smart apps" work pretty well, although I have noticed that Hulu has issues from time to time where a show will restart after an ad break. I would definitely recommend this TV for those looking for affordable 4k. I'll be replacing my main living room TV in the future and will definitely consider another Vizio.

Great display. Plenty of connection ports. I am not using this to watch cable TV, I bought it for streaming services and to pair with an Xbox One S. Although it does have several 4K HDMI ports, only one is 4K@60hz, where I have the Xbox hooked up to. I wish it had HDR, but you would need to spend a lot more money for a TV with that feature. Netflix app at 4K looks fantastic. I like that the info button from remote will show the current display resolution for what you are watching. Also I was happy to see this model had an RCA Out port. I hooked this up to a Logitech Z323 computer speaker set that has RCA In port, so I have great sound at minimum expense. The available apps are about standard, I would like to see a few more big name apps added, like MLB.TV or HBO GO, perhaps Visio will add these later. Overall I would highly recommend this TV, especially as a game display.

At first I did not get this Vizio. The Samsung floor model I got did not work, so I exchanged it for this Vizio. I am impressed with how easily it set up and went to work. Only drawback, it does not automatically switch to the next active input when you turn off the BluRay player. But the price was excellent.

Figuring out how to use the tv was easy, but i can't figure out how to change from standard to wide screen, & there's so many picture options, it gets overwhelming. Other than that, it was a steal for the price of a "bedroom sized " 40" 4k, uhd, smart tv for only $350. I wish there were buttons on the actual tv itself too in case i lose the controller. Still, i give a 4.5 out of 5. Vizio is an awesome tv brand too... I'm STILL waiting to watch something in 4k which is 2130p i believe? Instead of 1080p & see the difference. I want to play an Xbox one game in 4k but they haven't started making games in 4k yet. They will for project Scorpio next year & can't wait!

Vizio has all the features I was looking for in a UHD tv. The standard features match everything I have in my 1 year old Sony Bravia for about 2/3 less cost. Excellent product for the money.

I love this television. I was going to get a 48" but it didn't fit in the space I needed it to go in my bedroom. Definitely large enough. Excellent quality. Easy setup.

I chose the Vizio40" 4K Ultra HD over the rest because I found the picture to be brilliant and lifelike. The sound is great and find no need for an expensive sound bar. I've only had it about a month but this purchase, I have no regrets. Would definately recommend this to anyone looking for a mid-sized tv.

I have always been a Vizio user. The first reason is that Vizio has the best picture quality. Better than other high priced brands. But now with the newer smart TV's and 4k TV's, Vizio has stepped up their game. I love that this tv already has a lot of apps like Netflix, Xumo, and another app on the remote. Then you can download other apps. You must have high speed Wi-Fi to do this, but even if you don't, the quality of the picture and tv are worth it.

Love the tv awesome picture no complaints I hooked up a samsung 4K blu-ray player to it and it wasn't compatible which surprised me.

I love the picture quality although the updated model has a better smart remote the picture quality is amazing

I got this tv as an open box special. The tv has a decent picture for the price. The only hangups i have is it does not have bluetooth and the soundbar also vizio has to be connected with a wire. I can not connect my blue tooth headphones to it. Overall though a decent littletv.

This was a repacement for a two year old television which no longer worked. This television was easy to install and get up and running. Pictures and operation are nice. Access to Amazon video is uncomplicated, clear and concise picture.

Almost a year ago I bought also a Vizio 60" Smart 4K TV and was easy to setup and the quality is great like this new one. I really will go again and again with this brand. Always with the 5 years warranty in order to protect my investments.

Amazing TV for the price. Like all TV's, in order to get the best experience it's vital to change the picture settings to your personal preference. Easy to mount on the wall due to its lightweight, and has multiple HDMI's with one at 60hz.

Wife and I needed a modest size 40' and this gem popped up in all the categories we selected for a tv. GLAD it did!!!! The 4K on it is awesome, just make sure everything else is HD to get that maximum effect of course. Menus and tabs are user friendly as well.
