Some features listed, are not on this television
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this television for my bedroom based on the website says this television works with google home, I went through the setup process, low and behold, I can link it to Amazon Alexa, but Google home is not listed in the extras section. I went to the Vizio support site and there is a note that not all of the Vizio televisions have Google home support as of yet, Google home has been released on Vizio TVs roughly 2 years ago. This TV should have been compatible out of the box, not having to wait for who only knows how long before it is released to this TV.

Three HDMI ports available but one BIG ISSUE.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Vizio back in May and no issues were found until today. I have the soundbar connected to HDMI port 1 (ARC), works fine. I have my Apple 4K TV connected to HDMI port 2, works fine. I just got a PS4 Pro today, connected to HDMI port 3, no 4K HDR support. At first I thought it may have been the Monster 4K HDR cable that may be defected. But when I plugged my Apple 4K TV using a AudioQuest HDMI cable into HDMI port 3, I got the same result where it automatically changed to 1080p. I went into the Apple 4K TV settings to switch video output to 4K Dolby Vision but the “no signal found” message. I unplugged the cable, reconnected the cable, it was back to 1080P. I decided to try the PS4 Pro again on HDMI Port 3, went to the PS4 video settings and the max resolution was 1080p. It did not have the option to switch to 4K. With no Geek Squad protection, I am now stuck with a defective HDMI port on a Vizio 4K HDR TV. I have to constantly switch cables to HDMI port 2 either to stream on my Apple 4K Tv or play Death Stranding on a PS4 Pro. I have a feeling my expensive audioquest cable will go bad for constantly disconnecting and reconnecting the cable. Very disappointed.

Posted .Hello Dan81, your HDMI 3 should be supporting a 4K from your devices unless your devices are outputting an unrecognized frame rate or resolution. We’d really love the opportunity to have our tech support team run through some troubleshooting steps to see if we can get the TV up and running for you. When you have a free moment, they’re available through text message, chat, or over the phone. Just go to support.VIZIO.com and click on ‘Contact Us’.

TV is only 6 months old....
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV is only 6 months old and is darkening in the center on the left side. There is a dark area that never moves. A poorly constructed panel was used for this TV.... Its not going to last much longer.

Not even worth 1 star
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Vizio products are absolutely terrible. There is a vertical green line down the middle of the screen. Also bought a soundbar from Vizio where the volume was completely out of sync with the picture.

Great tv for it’s price and for a small room
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv while it’s not a top of the line tv, it’s not a bad buy for the price. It has a good amount of features and apps preinstalled. My first purchase of this tv arrived defective (apps missing, functions on remote not working & screen blanking out. Best Buy replaced the tv with no questions asked. So far the replacement has been good & trouble free. If you’re looking for a tv for a small price & room size especially for the bedroom you can’t go wrong with this model.

Great picture for the price... BUT
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this TV for my daughter's room. Set up is easy, as has come to be expected with Vizio's Smartcast TVs. Everything's great except one thing.... The internal wifi antenna! I have 3 other 4k TVs in my house, some with Nvidia shields or other android boxes, and I can view 4k content and YouTube videos with no issue. This TV however cannot handle the bandwidth to smoothly play a 4k video. It buffers every 2-5 seconds. Switch to 1080p and there's no issue. I can't even get the built in Hulu app to stream in anything higher than 720p. It's not my home network as I have 400 mbps down, the Nighthawk router is less than 10 feet away, and again I can stream 4k content on TVs further away with no issue. So if your looking at this TV for the 4k functionality, and don't have an ethernet drop to it, you may want to look elsewhere. For me, the smartcast features, price, and built in apps, are enough to keep it for my kid's room!

Vizio 4K 40"
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.pretty easy to set up. I like the Smartcast feature which allows you to stream from your iPAD or smart phone. Picture in 4K has very good quality. Has 3 HDMI inputs for Blu-ray player, Roku, etc. I do wish it had more apps like Youtube and Pandora. Overall for the price, it is a worthwhile purchase.

Vizio V-Series Really Delivers
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We really love this 4K flat screen. The size is perfect for my wife's workspace/office ( . . . but I sneak in there every chance I get because I think the pic is even better than the larger 4K flat screen that we have in our bedroom ( . . . and the power lounger is REALLY comfortable). I've already noticed since the purchase that the software has automatically updated several times. The SMARTCAST feature makes viewing our favorite streaming services a pleasure. To date, no Smart TV processor is as good as say a top of the line Roku but this comes very close. It's got enough ports to handle the peripherals we need. Setup was easy if a bit time consuming, however, I've got it direct linked via ethernet cable so it loaded up relatively fast. Vizeo's really got us thinking about our dependence on Samsung Smart TV's and the next upgrade may very well be a Vizeo.

I am learning to love free TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these to replace old flat panels from about 2008. These new Vizio are about the same physical height and width and 40 inches diagonal, where the old panels were 32 inches diagonal with a wide frame. These are 4K, the old ones scaled 1080i and 720p to a 1366x768 native display. Picture quality is so much sharper and brighter. These are about 15 pounds where the old displays were about 35lbs. Easy to hang. I watched mostly OTA TV from an antenna. Now I am learning to watch free TV from the Internet. It's like when I had a lot of cable channels, there is a lot of junk and some gems, except that it doesn't cost anything. Why pay for cable? (unless you are somewhere where you can't access local channels with an antenna, I must watch local news) One thing I miss on the old TVs is the tuner diagnostics that showed signal level, channel frequency, and real channel number. Everyone knows that digital TV channel numbers shown on the screen are virtual, transmitted by the station, right? In Des Moines we have digital channel 5 that transmits on real channels 5, 23, and 50, digital channel 17 on real channel 16, and digital channel 39 on real channel 36. Most "digital" television antennas don't tune VHF low band channels 2-6. Radio frequencies aren't digital or analog, so "digital" TV antenna is meaningless hype. Broadcast TV in the US is not 4K digital yet, and probably will never be 4K in Des Moines, so "4K digital" TV antenna is meaningless hype.

Very good budget TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hard to find 40 inch 4K TV. Since larger ones are better sellers, there are limited choices. Very happy with the picture, sound and functions of this Vizio that replaced an eleven year old Sony 40 inch 1080. I have owned it for several weeks now with no issues. I do not use the built in smart apps as I have an external Roku UHD box that was already completely set up. I am happy with its function, so I will continue to use it and can not comment on this feature. I also can't comment on the functionality of the remote as I use a programmable Logitech remote (also purchased from Best Buy) My only criticism is that the viewing angle from the sides is not great, but our viewing is at a limited angle in front so it is not an issue. The fact that it has more than the minimum 2 HDMI inputs is a bonus as I can use all of my accessories. The setting options are adequate including for my home theater receiver and wireless headphones. This is my second Vizio TV, I also own a 24 inch 1080 that is 12+ years old and still going strong. I have made my recent electronics purchases from Best Buy rather than other online retailers because I believe we should support our better retail institutions so our choices don't disappear. They have never let me down.

Great purchase!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this tv as a replacement for the one that my son broke. He loves this tv because it is easy to use. He likes the picture quality of the screen because he uses this tv to play video games on. Also, he enjoys this TV because of the internet connection capability. I like the fact that I got it for a great price. As long as my son is happy with this tv, then it makes me happy as well!

So happy with this TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Samsung TV broke a week before I bought this one and I was quite disappointed I had to purchase a new one. It was a blessing in disguise because I am so happy with this TV. The smartcast is great, quality is amazing (for the price you pay), and it was super easy to set up and use. Also, the TV remote looks so much better than the Samsung remote. Highly recommend this product.

Excellent 4K UHD TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is excellent. Very clear picture, audio, and color. Also provides many WatchFree channels. Used the legs/stand for about a week while waiting for the wall mount hardware to be delivered from another source. The legs/stand worked great. I replaced my 26" LG TV (that I gave to my mother) with this 40" Vizio TV. The LG was great, and this Vizio is even better. The other TV currently in my house is also a 48" Vizio. This newer Vizio is a step up and was less money. I'm looking for an excuse to by a newer Vizio to replace the older one.

Great for streaming!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Live that it has apps already on it Amazon , Netflix, Hulu but also I can stream directly from my Apple phone! Most big name apps like hbo, starz have the Comcast link so that’s how apple users can stream without an Apple TV. I do have an Apple TV but sometimes my older kids sneak it into their rooms and I am left with nothing in our nursery so this is very helpful! Quality is great! We switched from Samsung TVs to Vizio TVs!
