    Multiple Google searches reveal that this sound bar has a connectivity issue via the ARC HDMI. supposedly fixed with a software update - however mine continued to fail. I tried two of them. Neither worked and both were retuned

    Atmos Issues

    It worked great for a couple weeks, but now Dolby Atmos won't work, it'll only do Stero. My setup hasn't changed at all. I changed out cables, all firmware is update to date, source is Atmos. Worst purchase I've had in some time.

    Pros: Great Sound! Dolby Atmos is LEGIT! hearing stuff all around and above is mildy trippy. Setup was fairly easy, odd plug locations. The back speakers being wired to the wireless sub is a legit idea, and works super well! Also, the sub BUMPS for being so compact! My apartment is small enough, that I've been at least mildly worried about sound complaints. I replaced an older 2.1 system from another mid-range home theater device/TV manufacturer, and while it could get loud, the sub maxed was just enough to know you weren't listening to plain soundbar tweeters, but that was it. You FEEL the movies and music I play with the settings on normal with this system! Cons: Only negative I have for this system is the fact that it has no lights or screen on the front of the bar to tell you its on! The remote is where the information screen is, but doesn't cut it. The app helps, but is still not ideal. Value is there, but is a touch too pricey at MSRP imo.

    This system is a waste of money. Vizio needs to stick with what the do best and that is TVs. The sound cuts out every 30 seconds making it difficult to watch anything. Tried to find a fix for it online with no success.

    Randomly cuts out

    Works great for 2-3 days then the sound starts randomly cutting out. I've tried connecting it with HMDI cables and optical cables. Keeps doing it. Returning it.

    One of the shelf speakers started cutting out after 7 minutes of use. This thing sounds hollow. My old Vizio soundbar tops this pile. Please do yourself a favor and don't buy

    Doesn’t connect to Bluetooth, tried connecting multiple times but it drops out. Doesn’t automatically connect to Aux. I can’t return it because of Best Buy’s 14 day return policy. This item was very expensive.

    I brought the cinema home!

    I have been looking at Dolby Atmos sound bars for quite some time and have always been deterred by the price that came with it. When I saw the price of VIZIO’s new 36” Dolby Atmos sound bar, I could not pass up the deal. I have used VIZIO products before, in fact, the SB3851-C0 has been my main home theater sound system for a few years now. After setting up the new Dolby Atmos sound bar and testing it out with different Dolby Atmos content, I am blown away by the quality of sound! I am amazed at how the sound is able to move around my room and I am in awe of how much more immersive the experience is compared to my previous sound bar. The first movie that I watched with the new Dolby Atmos sound bar was Ready Player One and it was like bringing the AMC to my house! I also have used my new Dolby Atmos sound bar to listen to music and can say that it is a great option for personal listening or for entertaining a large party – this sound bar can get loud but is also one of the clearest sounding sound bars that I have ever heard at higher volume levels. Being able to stream my music over Wi-Fi is also a big win for me since I am already a Google Assistant user and can now control my sound bar with just my voice! I have been using this sound bar for a little over a week now and I have not found a single thing to complain about. The sound bar was very simple to set up and VIZIO even included all of the audio cables that I needed, right in the box. It only took me around 10 minutes to get the sound bar set up and have it streaming music from iHeartRadio. I am so happy that I purchased this sound bar and I would recommend it to anyone that is in the market for a Dolby Atmos sound bar. One of my friends has a Dolby Atmos sound bar from a different brand, which he paid over $1000 for, and he and I both agree that the VIZIO Dolby Atmos sound bar is the better option when it comes to sound quality and functionality. I would recommend this product to any customer that is looking for a Dolby Atmos sound bar. I will be buying another one as a gift for my parents.

    After owning this for two years, have to say it’s not worth the purchase. Randomly shuts off and one of the rear satellite speakers quit working

    Beware. Do not buy. Soundbar constantly changes source and audio turns off. This audio bar isn't worth the cheap price. I'm taking this back and buying a competitor's soundbar instead.

    Sync issue, not so easy to use.

    Sound is good, however it is not syncing with tv on start up. Bluetooth sync is also not good, signal is getting lost in the middle of the song and need to restart the soundbar again.

    This unit has good sound but every time the signal changes it breaks connection the only way to get it to reconnect is to shut it off and reboot it which is very annoying on every commercial

    Very unhappy with this product. It makes loud noises that sound like a short circuit. It is not consistent on when we need to turn it on and off. It also makes the volume skip by 3.

    It broadcasts an unsecured SSID signal to everyone around you. They’ve known about this issue for over a year and haven’t fixed it. Can’t even use this now. Wish I would’ve looked at the reviews.

      Hello UFOstrich, your SmartCast device will broadcast a SSID for the purpose of connecting to a mobile device using the VIZIO SmartCast application. To complete any connection to the television a 4 digit code, that is displayed on the television, would need to be entered on the connecting device before allow it to control your television. This network will stop broadcasting after about 30 minutes after initial power on and should pose no security risk to the integrity of the personal wireless network or information.     The product I ordered came as open box without a remote and no power cords. Only the subwoofer and the sound bar came scratch up and dirty.

    Room filling sound

    First, setup is super easy. If you are unfamiliar with CEC and AnyNet+ functions on TV’s, just a quick read of the manual will let you know the correct settings for the TV. I’m using ARC and it is definitely better and more accurate than optical. Next, the sound is VERY GOOD! I have a 10x15 room and absolutely felt a sense of surround sound. I watched 5 movies last night, all of which I was familiar. As an example, in Equalizer, there were several scenes in the city and in the café where I hear cars that sounded like they were going from left to right and front to back. I also noticed that the height channels play a great role in filling the dead space and convey more of a movie experience than some other sound bars I have tried. The subwoofer is small, but shook the walls in my 10x15 room, again, not quite as accurate as the dual Pinnacle Baby Boomers I have in my dedicated system. I have a $5K dedicated system in my den area, which is much more accurate and places sounds much better, but for my office, I wanted a movie experience in a compact system that did not cost $5K. I also have the highly applauded Vizio 2.1 system that I really like as a daily driver. I would not call the 5.1.2 system a daily driver unless you are watching movies and sports all day. It is really overkill for that. But for movies, sports, series stuff, it is awesome. The system is less critical of speaker placement than dedicated systems also, which works well for rooms that have an odd shape or where speaker placement might not be symmetrical. The cables are PLENTY long. The only downsides for me are 1. Remote is still kind of weak for a $500 Sound bar. 2. I had to fidget with the TV settings for a while to get ARC to work correctly. The manual does not cover every setting for every TV, but is pretty good at telling you the correct areas to look. So, bottom line is, this is a great system for my 10x15 room. It’s not as accurate as my dedicated system, but it is 10x less expensive. I like this way better than another sound bar from a company that starts with “S” and their top 2.1 Atmos bar is in the $900 range. Kudos to Vizio.

    I ended up switch back to my Onkyo AV receiver. I though the sound bad would be more effective or sound better but I was wrong okay all counts.

    Trash! Soundbar crapped out less than 8 months. Couldn't even return it! It's the second Vizio sweet I've purchased and I'm not impressed with Vizio.
