Once again Vizio knocks it out of the park!

I have always been a fan of vizio products. I purchased my first vizio product back in 2006. It was a 50 inch plasma HDTV. I wanted something a bit larger and I sold it last year for 200 bucks on craigslist. Yes, 200 dollars. The TV worked just as good as the day I purchased it. Great quality, great aesthetics and of course a great value. So needless to say I have been a fan of Vizio products for awhile now. Vizio had seen my review on their standard 5.1 dolby digital sound bar I purchased with my 70 inch Vizio LED TV and wanted me to review their brand new Dolby Atmos soundbars. Needless to say I was excited. I ultimately settle on the vizio brand for my sound bar because quite frankly they provided the best performance and sound quality at a price point that frankly blows away the competition. If I have not made it clear already, when vizio contacted me and offered to send me their brand new dolby atmos sound bar in exchange for a review I was blown away; but not nearly as blow away as when I hooked it up and turned it on. Once again, vizio knocked it out of the park. Ok let start with the aesthetics. Upon opening the box it was very similar to last years model. Clean , sleek and subtle. One thing I want in a home theater solution these days is subtle. The clean black grill cloth wraps the entire bar and buttons. The end caps are made of a subtle but sleek aluminum with a vizio logo. The subwoofer took on a major change this year and I have to tell you I was sceptical. One thing that really set my previously purchased vizio sound bar appart was the deep bass that the sub produced. My other sound bar had a larger subwoofer and what appeared to be a much larger cabinet. This one was a smaller driver and a smaller enclosure. I have been building car audio systems for years and one thing I have learned with is tune low and have optimal enclosure volume. I was so sceptical as this enclosure is small and it only housed a 6 inch subwoofer. Well that is until I got her hooked up and turner her on. I was once again blown away. The bass is deep and rumbles. This small form factor subwoofer hits deeper then one of my other powered 8 inch 100 watt powered home subwoofers. The bass is deep and distortion free. I am always baffled how vizio does it as it doesn't make sense a sub this small can put out the sound it does. It honestly sounds like a 12 inch subwoofer and I am not exaggerating. Hook up is easy as well. It's a no brainer. Nice thing about vizio sound bars is when you match them with a vizio TV it's pretty much plug and play via HDMI ARC. The soundbar basically replaces your tv speakers and that's that. Vizio leaves no stone unturned with their accessories and instructions. Every wire you need is included. The manual is easy to read and understand. You want to wall mount your soundbar? No problem. They include a wall template that takes any mistakes out of the equation. No let's talk sound. Sound quality with vizio sound bars is just awesome. Clean, loud and deep all the way up to 102db. Bass is always deep and with authority. But what about the atmos? Well let me tell you about the atmos. The top two speakers bounce the sound off the ceiling no matter what your listening to. Even when not watching an atmos encoded movie, there is a noticeable fullness to the sound you did not get with the standard 5.1 system. You wont realize it until you compare them side by size. Long story short, this is the best soundbar you can get at around 499 dollars. Once again vizio has impressed me with this sound bar. I am sure this will not be the last time I am grinning ear to ear. Phatkat Collections.

I picked this up from Best Buy yesterday. I have been waiting all summer for this to come out & it's finally here! Hookup was a breeze. We were absolutely blown away by this unit. We put in 12 Strong & it was like when we saw it at the theater! I watched football with it & the sound was great. Very easy to hear the announcers, unlike without it. By the way, I do NOT work for Vizio.I would not hesitate to buy this product, especially at this price!

Sound Bar LED'S Turn On With TV But No Sound

To get my Vizio atmos 5.1.2 sound bar to work with my LG OLED65B7A 65-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart OLED TV 2017 Model, I have to take the wall plug out and re-plug it in to the wall socket to reset the sound bar , then hit the on and off button on the bar (which is almost impossible to see) then tap the plus volume button to get the sound to work with ARC HDMI cable plugged in. Vizio does not ship a flashlight with the remote to view the led display which is virtually impossible to see at night with out an external light. I received this Sound bar direct from Vizio and had to send it back. Vizio is sending a replacement. Between sending and receiving a new one, I will have to wait 3 weeks to receive another one. I am just hoping that the first one was defective and not a design flaw. I will let you know how the second one tests out when I receive it. The good news: When I was able to hear the sound, it was very good , I think anyone who receives one that actually works without having to plug it in every time to hear the sound, will surly like it. But for now , I cant recommend it

The sound bar is a great addition to my living room. When I stream music, it is loud and clear. I watch a lot of movies and having Dolby Atmos was a bonus (now it sounds like helicopters or birds are flying above when watching Dolby movies). The price is great and all the cables were in the box!

    Great Atmos Bar

Let me start by saying that I currently own multiple VIZIO products. I recently received this soundbar as a gift. I was using an older VIZIO soundbar for a while and I had no issues with it. In looking for a soundbar upgrade this soundbar. What really drew my attention is the fact that it had Dolby Atmos. Since I am using a Dolby Vision TV and I go see movies in the theaters with Dolby Vision and Atmos, I figured that Atmos would be good to bring in the house. I have been considering Atmos for awhile but most of the soundbars are out of my price range because most of them don’t have the rear speakers in box. I saw that VIZIO was making an Atmos bar and decided to buy one around Black Friday. Before I had a chance to buy it, a family member gifted me one. Overall, I have no complaints. The sound quality is great. The bar gets loud and stays clear. I am getting that 360 effect when listening to content in Atmos. Considering I already have experience with SmartCast, I find that the ability to customize the soundbar is easy. It is also a nice feature that I can set up the Chromecast in the bar using the Google Home app. If you are looking for a well-priced soundbar that has some expensive features (Atmos, true surround sound) then I think that this might be a good choice for you.

    Great Price for Atmos

We now have two of the sound bars. One in the master bedroom and one in the office. We have them hooked to Vizio P-55 F1's and love them. The are easy to hook up via, HDMI arc. We have them both hooked to 4K Apple TV's with DirectTV Now. The set up is a snap, with very little cords or wires (with exception of the rear satellites which are truly not wireless). The remote is a bit basic however, just download Vizio's app on your phone and then you can control everything from there. You really can't beat the sound for the price. Atmos content sounds great and even music sounds great on the system. The subwoofer packs quite the punch and dialog in movies is clear unlike in the LG Atmos soundbars. The system doesn't auto adjust to different sources as in other sound bars, however once again open the Vizio app on the phone and you're good to go. This is really an unbelievable price for what you are getting. If the remote was better and the satellites were truly wireless this system would receive a true 5 STAR.

Total junk when it comes to eARC connectivity. Connection randomly drops and requires troubleshooting several times a week. I would recommend going with a more reputable brand than Vizio.

Sound is amazing, I enjoyed the refine surround sound provided from Vizio. Capturing all the essence of the Dolby Atmos 3D impact. This is call innovation through a brand that started from just TVs.

Sounds great, a bit buggy, lack of more HDMI input

I'm upgrading from a 6 year old Vizio 2.1 system, so I'm not an audiophile by any means. However, I can definitively say that this system is pretty incredible, especially at the current price point of around $300. The bass is deep and thunderous, each channel is clear and spatial and the Atmos effect (through Apple TV 4k) isn't game-changing but it makes a difference in the right room. As to the last point, you really have to have this system in a smaller, square room to be able to really get the effects from Atmos. You won't notice anything if you're in a huge room or a room with vaulted or extra high ceilings. I've had some difficulty with it recognizing which input to use and when connecting Spotify to it through the Chromecast feature. I'm not saying these problems can't be fixed, but they are definitely not out of the box ready to use features that don't require some messing around with on your TV and devices. I also really wish there were at least one more HDMI in on this soundbar, as I have to hook my PS4 up through the optical cable. One thing to definitely make sure of is to update the soundbar to the newest firmware and also make sure that your devices are updated. For example, Dolby Atmos was just recently added to Apple TV 4k so you'll need to update to the newest firmware.

Im always recommending Vizio to friends and family. I do believe in the products they make. So I decided to Buy this Soundbar to compliment my Vizio TV. It works when it wants to, shuts off in the middle of watching shows, I cant get my ATMOS to work when Im watching WW84 on HBOMAX which uhh...pretty much is the point of even getting this and the annoyances keep going. Its a shame really. I would still buy Vizio because I believe on its journey to making great products there will be hiccups but...BUT...this is something Vizio really needs to work on. Stand by your product enough that if something is wrong...fix it. If not take returns and refund money. Acknowledge shortcomings and well...you get where I may be going with this. DO NOT BUY!

    Atmos outdated but sounds good

Bought this sound bar because it went on sale for 299.99 today. For the price it sounds great. Problem is i was really excited about the atmos. The new format of Atmos from my research can only be passed through eARC. This bar is outdated and only has ARC. So if your watching something on netflix in atmos you will see the green led light for a few seconds then go off and the bar reverts back to 5.1 surround. It still sounds good dont get me wrong. If i would of paid 499.99 for it 2 years ago I would be upset today. Debating on returning it for something that is up to date for Atmos but I know cheapest one is still around 500-600 range. I would recommend this product just not for someone wanting Atmos.

Hello WorldRocker, thank you for your feedback today. When the sound bar detects the ATMOS signal, it will illuminate the green light and after 5 seconds will fade away as designed. When the light fades away it does not necessarily mean that the ATMOS signal was lost. I would love the opportunity to have our technical support team troubleshoot the issue with you though if that signal is indeed being lost. When you have a free moment, they’re available through text message, chat, or over the phone. Just go to support.VIZIO.com and click on ‘Contact Us’. VIZIO

Out of the box a breeze to setup w/ my Visio 75" and Apple TV 4K. Great sound! Maybe a bit too much bass but that's adjustable. Getting loud crackles and pops on brand new unit day 1. Have tried other HDMI cables and optical input. Pops come out from random speakers.- appears to be a decoder issue. Both Comcast via HDM-ARC and Apple TV 4k via HDMI in have the issue. Sometimes the pop will put the front speakers in a "muted" mode. I'm a long time Vizio TV fan - 5 sets all still working from 12 year old 42" set to latest 75" E series <2 months old

Similar problems to what others have said. Trouble with getting sound at all without popping cables out and in. Trouble getting Atmos to work consistently although I only tried through ARC. In addition, when troubleshooting tried to use optical and the port broke. Can't even insert a cable. When I called support about sound issues after brief troubleshooting was told to call LG. Disappointing when clearly these are known issues. In returning it. Having said all this if you don't experience these issues the sound is very good for a soundbar.

Hello Kennydg, if you still have the unit please contact our customer service again at 877-878-4946. We have a firmware coming later this week that should improve CEC and Atmos recognition. We will be posting this update on support.vizio.com once this update is available.

Edit: Kennydg, we have recently released a new firmware of 1.2.0.1 for this sound bar. This firmware should resolve the ARC and CEC functionality problems you have described. The firmware can be found at support.vizio.com with instructions on how to download install this firmware or you can use the check for update in the system menu on your VIZIO SmartCast application. Please let us know if you have any questions. VIZIO
