Awesome Surround Sound System with Soundbar
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I definitely needed an upgrade when my TV's own speakers blew and sounded all crackly. This was just the sound system I needed. It is very modestly priced while still offering Dolby Atmos quality. Great soundbar with Sub woofer and surround sound that plugs directly into the Sub Woofer so that you do not have wires running everywhere

Overall an okay purchase for first time soundbar.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want to start off this review by saying, I have been a fan of Vizio for about 5 years now. I would consider myself to be a tech freak and what I mean by that is, I am constantly upgrading my TVs, soundbars, electronics, ect. When I came across this soundbar I was inspired to buy it after reading all of the great reviews on it. I read about everything from the Atmos surround feature, to the quality when it came to watching movies vs listening to music on it. That being said, this audio system will suit your movie/tv watching needs very fairly. I paired it up with my 70” Vizio 4K TV & watched a few movies that supported 5.1 surround sound. As mentioned in some reviews, you can indeed hear the helicopter flying around or the birds chirping from left to right. As far as bass went, again if you are planning to use it for watching movies/TV only, it will do just fine. It will NOT blow your expectations out of this world, but it will do just fine. My issue began when I started to stream music via Spotify or YouTube. I am picky when it comes to music streaming because I like to listen to music very loud, and THIS is where the Vizio 5.1.2 Atmos falls short. At low volumes it sounds okay, but once you get passed half volume, the sound starts to get muggy, cheap & uneven. What I mean by that is #1 the bass just plain out dies at high volumes for music. The mids are not there & the highs seem to lag. Everything just sounds uncoordinated. Again, for some people who only want this system for watching movies, this would not affect you. As far as set up & visual looks, it was very easy to set up, the sound bar and speakers have a fairly “new” updated look to them. Perhaps my expectations were set a bit to high but for a $500+ soundbar system I believe this falls just a bit short. Currently returned to the store & exchanged it for the Polk sb1. Let’s see how this goes!

Easy to setup and sounds great
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this sound bar. The dolby Atmos feature is great while watching movies. I have it connected to a 55” Insignia Roku 4K Smart tv and it works on all the hdmi connected devices. The app is kinda of hit and miss but, I don’t really use it. I subtracted one star because on occasion the sound bar doesn’t start with the tv and I have to pause whatever I am watching to let the sound bar catchup. Perhaps a future update will fix this issue.

Amazing surround sound
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We are loving this sound system!! Even purchased the stands for the speakers and we really enjoy the surround sound we get. Was worried about cables showing but learned that the 3 individual speakers connect to each other by cords but the main one connects to the bar by bluetooth, so we did not have to run cables all around our living room! I gave it a 4 because after so long the sound bar shuts off and it will be right in the middle of a movie or show and we have to turn it back on. I have played with the settings but so far have not found what causes it.

Excellent surround side!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently replaced a Sony surround sound system and the Vizio delivers great sound in a good looking package. Setup was easy and the wireless subwoofer eliminates the tangle of wires I used to have. Priced right I would recommend this system to anyone looking to improve their tv sound. Great customer support and easy set up make for an excellent experience.

Good value for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Item was well packaged, all accessories were included. The sound is great. Directions for setup were good. I could not get the HDMI ARC to work, but I switched to optical, which worked right away. Thus may be due to my Panasonic plasma not getting ARC quite right. Good to have alternate connections. As others gave complained, the feedback on the speaker settings took some getting used to, which is why I gave it 4 stars. Good value of the sound for the price.

Great sound quality but some minor drawbacks.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound for the price. Very happy with the sound. However there are few things that suck - 1. The remote has a display that is not bright and is not backlit so its very hard to see the display. 2. The remote is flimsy as well. 2. Every now and then there is delay in the sound. Just needs to turn off and turn it back on. Not a major issue but still annoying imo.

Exceeds expectations
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased this to replace a 10+yr old soundbar that sounded fine to me but developed a problem with IR. I was skeptical of the small subwoofer included here and couldn't find any power specs for the system, but I trusted the reviews and I'm glad I did. For the money, this system is incredibly impressive. It has plenty of power to fill my living room and the sub hits hard despite it's size. Not sure how much the up firing speakers are adding to the experience, but 5.1 audio sounds great in general. Appearance-wise, it's pretty decent looking, although it looks a little small under my 65" tv. Of course it's entirely subjective whether small is good or bad and at the end of the day it doesn't affect the sound. I've seen negative reviews that cite the passthrough feature doesn't work.. I initially had the same issue but a setting on my TV resolved it. On my Samsung, it was called something like extended input range. I forget the exact term, but it was in the same menu as AnyNet, which you should also turn on to make sure ARC works properly. After enabling that setting,I used the 4k output test on my Xbox One X to confirm that both 4k and HDR were working properly.

One of the best
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had an older Visio and loved so got this one to go with my new Samsung Q80. It’s perfect and sounds awesome. So many diff settings. I could shake the windows in my 24x26 family room or keep it quieter to here them talking. Whatever you chose. Very happy with this high quality Soundbar at a reasonable price.

A solid Dolby Atmos system
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had the sound system for a little over three weeks. So far, the sound quality is great. Only two major gripes. One of which can’t be easily fixed by Vizio. The first, is the sound bars design language Vizio has decided to stick to the dots (instead of a display) and felt type of material. The last thing is that getting Dolby Audio to play from an Apple TV 4K is a pain because you can’t have the device connected from the tv it has to be plugged directly to the sound bar.

Something about this sound
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Sony surround sound DVD player that had great sound but didn’t play well with my other electronics. So, upgrade to a soundbar? Seemed iffy. My other system had a larger subwoofer and speakers you could spread out, expand the sound. Well, it all worked out. Because of the Dolby atmos, the soundbar expands the sound wonderfully. And the surround sound speakers work as if my other ones didn’t work at all. Another fellow commented on here how when bluetoothing music you lose something at high volumes. Definitely true. But at a decent volume, music play is really nice. I learned the irritating way that the app for this helps you adjust your sound levels really well, but don’t use it to play your music. I just go into my settings/Bluetooth and connect to Vizio soundbar that way. Bought an LG 65 4K tv previous to this soundbar, and using the arc hdmi, the two communicate easily, although the soundbar likes to update itself quite a bit, and when you turn on the tv, and the soundbar doesn’t come on right away, you think something has gone south. Wish it’d just update when I don’t need it in the middle of the night, since I have it connected to the internet through the Ethernet cable. Anyhow. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Great sound. Good value
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced a larger Sony sound bar with this. This sounds incredible. Easy to set up. Very easy to control with the supplied remote and even better with the Vizio SmartCast app on my phone. I wish the sound bar itself was longer, to match my TVs width, but though it is only 36”, it sounds much bigger. Wireless sub woofer can be placed most anywhere BUT you need to know that the rear surround speakers are not wireless. They are attached by supplied wires to the subwoofer.

Vizio 5.1.2
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great sound bar system. Easy to set up. I have a medium size room and it works great. Plenty of sound volume. Bass is good. Streams music easily. I tested other sound bar systems for more money and found this one to be the best for my needs. I am using it with a Sony 950H 65" television.

Performance for price is incredible
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely easy set up. Have a Fire Stick and there was literally no remote set up to use the Fire remote to power on and off the soundbar. Great sound, fully envelops you. Need to adjust the sub a little, some of the low frequencies from background noise can be annoying. Haven't used it with full Atmos yet but with regular 5.1 it's awesome.

Nice sound; switching between inputs is a problem
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up and the sound is good. I had trouble getting the app to connect properly at first but eventually got it to work. The sound bar does not always switch to the correct input between HDMI-In and HDMI-ARC. So, I have to manually set the sound bar into search mode for the input using the remote. I noticed it started that after I got the Vizio app to work on my phone so that may have something to do with it or it may be a coincidence.

Great purchase for the price!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently was in the market for a sound bar and I had been doin a lot of research so I knew what the different features were available and the benefits of those features. I then went into the Best Buy store so I could start listening to the set up displays so I could hear them side by side. What I found was there’s a very noticeable difference between the high end and low end models of sound bars when it comes to sound quality. The VIZIO product I ended up choosing was no doubt the best sounding in the store (aside from the high end Bose Sound bar). But that being said the quality wasn’t that differ between the two and the VIZIO was about $800 cheaper. I have been extremely satisfied by my purchase and it looks and sounds great. Movies sound intense and you can still hear the when characters are talking, even in battle scenes or during loud movie sequences. Music quality is fantastic! I use the system connected to my phone via Bluetooth and play music throughout my place and it puts out great sound quality for all genres of music. I would very much recommend this product and checking it out for yourself in the store.

Ugh. Stay away, very far away
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had great expectations for this product and I got an awesome deal on it from BestBuy. Setting it up was very easy and it sounded AMAZING. However, I had to fight with it all the time. Turning on the TV that was attached to it (Vizio TV) sometimes I would get No Signal errors on the HDMI port. Sound would drop out every once in a while and it wouldn't come back unless i physically unpluged the soundbar. After about 2 weeks i took it back and got another one. I really wanted it to work. Everything seemed to be working fine for another 2 weeks until the firmware began to do an update. It got stuck in a never ending loop of rebooting and updating. I couldn't do a hard reset and so the unit was essentially bricked. After I returned the 2nd unit, I picked up the Samsung HW-Q70R/ZA. I plugged it in and it just worked. No fussing, no head scratching, just great sound without any issues. I wish I hadn't spent a month giving myself a migraine with the Vizio bar.

Vizio customer support sent me the next one up
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had trouble with connecting the app and the soundbar since my wifi is a hidden network. Spent almost an hour on the phone with Vizio customer support before they decided that the unit had a problem. Due to what they had in stock they sent me the next step up on soundbar, which has a lot of the same features and is working well (including the app). So, even though this one sounded good, but had a few bugs, I'm happy overall with my Vizio purchase since the customer support was good to excellent.

Incredibly good
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this soundbar as a starter set for my new home theater setup. The price was great. It came with tons of connections so I figured it would give me tons of ways to set it up. I found out that the only way to get Dolby Atmos to work it had to use HDMI. I had plans to use this soundbar temporarily until I can get a good receiver and speakers. Once I setup this soundbar and surround speakers I thought it was pretty good. I didn't have a long enough HDMI cable to reach my projector so I used the built in Bluetooth and a Cat 6 adapter. It sounded okay but got even better once I got Dolby Atmos setup. I. Once I got a long enough cable, and got true Atmos, it really filled the room. It will be a while before I eventually change to my planned setup. Vizio did an amazing job. Its paired with a 165" screen and still manages to hold its own. I may get another one for my home office but it might be overkill.
