The sound is amazing- Dolby Atmos really shines. Easy to set up and connect. Plus they give you pretty much all of the cables and chords you would need. I would just remind people to buy stands if you don’t want to mount the small speakers. The stands are relatively cheap and nice to have with this soundbar.

As advertised, set up took only minutes. Sound quality exceeds simple Yamaha sound bar we had before.

I loved this soundbar, I was absolutely amazed on how well this system worked....speakers felt like they were coming from everywhere in the room! Was bummed when it blew out the center channel out of nowhere two years in....but got the extended warranty thru geek squad so they just refunded me my money since they couldn't fix it !

I've never really had any complaints with Vizio, but this system is excellent and worth EVERY star. This easily compares to system's twice as expensive. The sound is responsive and very immersive. An absolute must for movie or music buffs!

I was totally blown away by the sound from this system. I purchased it for our second set as the tv speakers were just only ok to me. My son visited and after showing it to him he got one for his house. Vizio did a great job with this one.

I had very high hopes for this item because all the other Atmos enabled soundbars are substantially more expensive than Vizio's offering. I was impressed with the audio quality and power this system can output. It can be very loud! This was something I was curious about since I could not get room-filling sound from the other Vizio 5.1 soundbar system. The problems I had was that I too ran into some issues regarding the handshake using ARC. There were times when the soundbar would not turn on along with the TV (HDMI-CEC enabled), and I actually had an annoying issue where the sound would get cut off repeatedly when streaming content from my Samsung 4K Smart TV. Every time the sound would cut out, the soundbar would notify me of the sound format through the LED, almost as if it was receiving the signal anew. Although I had some issues with my setup, it's probable that others may not experience the same problems. Therefore, I am comfortable in recommending this product on the basis of sound quality and capabilities. I am hopeful that Vizio can resolve these issues in the near future, and I would not hesitate to pick it up once again.

Pros: Great surround you can hear a full range around your head like advertised. Style is nice with setup Clear sound Solid bass (was a bit worried but dont be worth it) Cons: With HDMI Arc i have a ThinIQ LG tv it wont connect auto say if i walk away for a 5 min period so you will have to hit pair then select hdmi arc to get it to reconnect. just inconvenient that it doesn't go into a sleep mode.

The surround sound is nice for this price point and usability is a huge upgrade from what I had before. The remote is really well made and everything is really responsive. I have had issues with it interpeting sound from my ps4 pro wierdly. I was able to fix the issue by using the optical audio input but it sounded really terrible on hdmi. I wish it had more input ports, since it only has one i had to buy a hdmi switch. All in all it was a really great deal.

I had an inexpensive surround sound system in a home theater room and wanted to step it up as I felt the old one sounded a little flat. This product fit the bill and is even better than I expected. The sound quality overall is very good and the Atmos effect is very impressive. Even with less than optimal ceiling material it truly feels immersive when watching a movie or playing an Xbox One game. I am sure if you want to go all in on Atmos and buy all the speakers required you could do better but will spend a small fortune and also have a very complex installation. With this product, you won't break the bank and will have a much simpler installation since all that is required is installation of two satellite speakers to go with the soundbar/subwoofer. My only criticism is that I find, not surprisingly, that as a sound system for just listening to music it doesn't have the power and range of a traditional amp and speakers. It still sounds good, but if you crank up a tune you will find its limits. Since my main need is for home theater it isn't a problem.

I really like this sound bar. This is the best “bang for your buck” at this price range. The mid tones are a little low when listening to music but it’s not horrible. The SmartCast app can be a little glitchy at times. The cloth covering over the speakers and soundbar does make the product look a little cheap. However, the sound quality for this price range more than makes up for any aesthetic shortcomings.

Purchased the unit for an amazing price of $259 and have been very happy with it. The unit connected flawless to my Vizio M Series TV via ARC. I then connected my BlueRay via the HDMI out on the soundbar. The sound is pretty good in terms of taking advantage of the capabilities of the unit. But it may sound a little weak. My Samsung Q60 which only offers a 5.1 set up seems to have more depth and doesn’t seem to be stressed when turning up the volume. The sub also offer a more deep and a more decisive bass. I think the problem may lie with the smaller size of the sound bar itself at only 36 inch and the smaller 6 inch sub woofer. Overall this is a nice unit and it offers great sound when watching 4K movies and sports. I don’t think I have been watching a Dolby Atmos compatible movie to experience all the unit can do but either way this is a great value and probably the most that i will ever need.

Vizio has always been a valued company of mine, but after this purchase I have come to truly appreciate Vizio, and Dolby Vision/Atmos. The sound is unlike anything else, and the product design is so sleek, and well thought-out. Easy set-up, and not a single problem. Couldn't get any better if you tried!

Awesome soundbar system! Deep rich sound with lots of bass. It Also has DTS:X, eARC, and 4k pass through which is not advertised. For $300 it best value with rear speakers included. Most systems like this are $700 - $1000. It's easy setup and enjoy!

Great sound quality. Fair warning, the HDMI does not work with older flat screens (and mine is maybe 3-4 years old). But the optical audio cord works fine. Remote does not turn it on and only is useful for sound control. Connecting this to a galaxy phone was impossible but was able to connect to an iPhone with some challenges.

A bargain at the price; There are issues, drop-outs and delays regardless of the remote you use, Atmos up-firing speakers not enough control, The remote would be so much better if it was back lit. Was impressed with the channel separation, but every time you change the source you have to adjust the balance. Watching TV can be annoying with every source broadcasting another audio source.

I bought this Vizio Dolby Atmos surround sound on sale for $300 and my goodness, I have been blown away. I bought a Yamaha YAS 209 sound bar for my basement (also a great stand alone sound bar, not nearly as good as this system though) and realized how shallow and weak my 7 year old Samsung sound bar in my living room was. I saw this on sale and decided to give it a shot. I have been blown away! The sound is so deep and lively. The subwoofer is unreal, so much bass but not overwhelming. This system completely immerses you in whatever you're watching, whether it's a football game, movie, sitcom...you name it, it will sound great. I would honestly say I would pay up to $800 for this, it's that good. It almost feels like a steal for what I paid. The ONLY negative is the Vizio app isn't great, I literally can't connect my system to it. Otherwise I highly recommend this product!

Unboxing and setup was easy. Just plug the cable, setup tv get an app, get latest updates and its done. I liked the sound quality, and it was perfect for my room But, I had connection issues with the system. App would connect only every other day, and on the top of the, sound went silent during movies 3 times in three weeks. Returned due connection issues.

For what it is, this system is fantastic. Takes a little bit of finagling with the app to get your sound just right but once it’s there you will be more than satisfied (for what can be expected out of a project in this price range). Atmos is a great little feature but it’s pretty subtle and you need to make sure your ceiling is the right to even get the result. Consider it a fun bonus

First off, this thing sounded pretty awesome when it was working. I purchased it brand new and it worked great, sounded amazing, and generally I was quite pleased. This however didn't last long, after less than 3 weeks it went into a cycle of turning on and off with the light indicator constantly blinking with the 8th light flashing. I tried to do a firmware update but the app on my phone was no longer able to connect, I even download it and put it on a usb stick to try to manually update and still no luck. So basically I have a 500 dollar paperweight at the moment. Thankfully I have until tomorrow to return it and will be doing so and looking into other soundbars. This problem happens to a large amount of people and I have yet to see any fix online except for trying to update the firmware which mine proved impossible to do. BUYER BEWARE in May 2019 this thing is still crapping out, and not worth the 500 dollar gamble, do yourself a favor and get something different or wait for next years model hopefully vizio will fix this problem.

Couldn’t give it 5 for sound, because it’s not gonna blow you away, but for the price this is great value, especially if you don’t want to have to deal with doing your own set up with an amp/receiver. You can customize the EQ through the Vizio app which is nice. I’d definitely recommend this if you are on a budget. If you can get it on sale or open box for a good price I’d highly recommend it.
