Very good sound system with a few minor issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this sound system to replace the built in speakers on my tv. Overall I have been really pleased with them. The sound is a huge step up from the built ins and really adds to the immersion. The setup was pretty easy after I worked around a couple configuration issues with my personal setup. The only issue I have had is that occasionally the rear speakers and the bass don’t connect. I haven’t been able to determine why yet but it does not happen frequently so it has not caused too much of a headache. These speakers are well worth the price and are a great upgrade option to add to your entertainment center.

Excellent Sound-Bargain But Apple TV Users Beware
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have learned a tremendous amount about Dolby, HDR etc. so I hope hours of research help some of you. First, indisputably a great soundbar and bargain, other 5.1 w/ atmos are in the $800's+. Make sure you get the high speed HDMI cords (2). Now, for those of you with Apple TV 4K, beware. 4K HDR does NOT work. What does this mean? From Apple TV, the signal goes into your soundbar for the sound, the video "passes through" to your tv. 4K standard will pass through, the picture is great, but if you are married to HDR, as of now it will not work. Now, after experimentation I decided to stick with it for the following reasons, HDR from your Apple TV only gives that AMAZING picture for movies with HDR10 format- to simplify, what it means is many movies do not have HDR anyway, they have Dolby Vision or something else. Disney + movies do tend to have HDR. What will you miss out on? I closely compared SDR w/ HDR and there is a difference. HOWEVER, SDR is still very good, and the 3D immersive sound from the Vizio Atmos soundbar makes up for it in my view. If you have the bucks and are a real purist, take a look at the $800-$1,000 Atmos systems that can definitely pass through the HDR, otherwise still a GREAT system. Another question might be is Vizio 5.1.2 worth the extra $200+ bucks for the Atmos over Vizio 5.1? My vote is YES, my daughter said it sounds like a "sound hug"...make sure you have a normal ceiling between about 7ft and 13ft. hope this was helpful

Great budget soundbar
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was pretty pain free. the app can be a little bit cumbersome so sticking to the physical remote is sometimes best. The sound quality is very good for a system this affordable. my one gripe and it might just be how ARC works and not this soundbar but every time a piece of content would start it would take a second for the soundbar to recognize the audio so you would miss the first second or two of whatever it is you are watching. for most things this isn't a huge issue but it can be annoying. other than that i still believe this is a good soundbar.

Mixed opinion
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This soundbar is very good for the price. I got it on sale for 300, and I feel it is worth that, and not the full price. The sound quality is good, the bass is great for the size of the sub, and it looks modern and visually appealing. Now the cons, I had to resync it to the app every time I turned it on, and all my calibration settings were reset. Most of the time I had to delete the app and reset the soundbar to factory settings to get it to sync to my app. Also, the main reason I returned it is because through eARC The sound was at BEST a half-second delay. when I had it plugged in through a normal HDMI connection it worked fine, but then I experienced no atmos. The soundbar is good, it isn't mindblowing or anything like that, considering the price. But it is a huge step up from normal tv speakers, the upward-firing speakers are okay, you get the idea but are not very immersed. Finally, the rear speakers were inconsistent in volumes. Background noises were too quiet, but turn it up a little and the main noises become much too loud, but I am nitpicking and I believe I could have just had a defective model. I wouldn't recommend this item at full price but on sale, it is an overall good deal.

Great soundbar to add Dolby atmos to your home
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A little tough to get set up but once you get it, the sound is tremendous. Netflix has a lot of Dolby atmos content. I have my Xbox series x set up through hdmi and a 4K tv and games and movies have never been better. Also supports auxiliary for regular tv and other consoles. Downside is there is no backlight on the remote.

Big performance in a little package
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace my Yamaha YAS 207 sound bar and I love the performance. I connect it to my Sony XBR 900E 65 inch TV and it's certainly an upgrade. The Dolby Atmos works but it really depends on what you're watching and the quality of the source material and audio mix. I love both the Dolby Atmos and Non Dolby Atmos performance. No regrets with this purchase. I have it installed in a small man cave room that's ideal for AV home theater set up and the system may not perform as well in a big open space. That's just my thoughts. Set up was easy with the exception of a little mis step during the app set up. The box contained everything needed for connection and set up but I'm using my own Belkin Dolby Vision certified cable connected to Apple TV 4K and Sony TV.

So far so good. Remote has issues.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice sound. 5.2 is good. The base is a bit louder and needs to be adjusted (have not done it yet). The display on the remote is hard to see and use, especially when adjusting settings like balance, left vs right, treble and bass. The remote is not too good at switching from one input to another. Need to follow up with Tech Support to fix it and/or learn how to do it (followed instructions, but did not work). Overall a good one. Never bought or used Visio products. So lifetime performance is not known.

Great sound bar
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently moved and needed a neat, quick, and easy solution for audio in the family room. The set up was easy and the sound of the bar and the sub was actually surprisingly good. The only negative is that using the HDMI arc I am randomly dropping audio and I have to power cycle the sound bar to reconnect. I’m having to do that daily which is annoying but otherwise it’s great!

Great for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound is great when it is working. I had to get a replacement one from Vizio due to some issues. The new one has lasted a couple of years but it needs to be factory reset every few weeks or so. For some reason after a while the subwoofer stops connecting to the sound bar and then a reset is necessary to get it working. But like i said, when it’s working properly the sound is better than other bars I have used that cost double or triple this price.

Great sound!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound on this bar is amazing but it's full of bugs. The volume acts weird most of the time. If you turn the volume up or down on the remote it doesn't actually take until you mute and unmute the bar. It will randomly go to the default volume setting and the remote will not do anything even though you see the volume dots moving. The software remote is awful - it literally take 3-4 seconds for the input to register. Vizio needs to work on their software/firmware A LOT but hardware is solid.

Great but always use it or it shuts off
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound is amazing, but for some reason if im not using the sound bar on my samsung 82" Q60 tv (via playing video games on a headset), the soundbar will shut off and activate the tv speakers again. I have to cycle through the inputs 2-3x to get the HDMI-ARC input to be recognized for the tv to channel sound through it. I know HDMI-ARC is the premium suggestion for sound input over optical cable, but my 6.5 year old vizio sound bar never had this issue. It is a real pain

Best Bang for your Buck!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the sale price of $299 you can't pass this up. Great sound at a great price point. The remote sucks but the app after initial WiFi setup is the way to go. I have debated getting another one for bedroom at this price. It's almost as good as the elevate from Vizio @ $999 for half the price when not on sale.

Sounds great but doesn't always work. Stay away.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price ($300) and sound, I would give these a 5. However, the system started to act very buggy after a few days of use on my new Sony 4K tv using the ARC connection. FYI I updated the firmware as soon as I setup the system: 1. The tv will start playing and just randomly pause video. After restarting, there is zero audio and I'm forced to close out of the video streaming app and restart. This issue does not happen when playing video through thru the TV speakers. 2. (When issue number 1 doesn't happen..) After pausing and then restarting video, there is a 3 second delay before audio starts working again, although video is already playing, so you'll be forced to rewind if you want to catch what was said during those 3 seconds. 3. The system does not always respond to the remote's commands (e.g., power off sometimes works, changing input sometimes works). And forget about using the remote in the dark: the screen is unreadable without light and the bar itself just flashes random lights. These do nothing to inform you what connection the bar is on. If the system worked as intended, I would definitely be keeping it for my small basement setup. The sound is excellent and unlike some, I don't mind having the rear speakers wired into the wireless subwoofer. But with all of these issues, it has become physically difficult to get the system working and is not worth the hassle. I would avoid this system.

Lowest cost Dolby atmos
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Often the sound is that extra element of immersion. Having a surround sound system is good, having a Dolby Atmos system is better. Not everyone can install dedicated speakers and ceiling mounts. Having a sound bar allows everyone to accomplish this and this model is one of the lowest costs that supports the necessary features (Dolby vision pass through, adjustment of height levels). Setup is super simple. There are some intermittent software hiccups, but they are easily resolved with power cycling the sound bar.

Bang for the buck!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best bang for the buck. Got on sale for $299 and couldn’t be more impressed. Comes with all cables and mounts. Had hooked up and listening within 5 minutes. The wireless rear sub that the rear speakers connects to makes for a clean and easy set up. Sounds better than I could ever have imagined even at MSRP.

Great budget soundbar with Atmos
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sounding, affordable soundbar. It was hard to pass this unit at the current sale price. I haven't had any regrets or issues in regards to sound quality. Getting the app to pair with soundbar was more of a hassle than it should be, but once paired it's really a nice sounding system that functions as I'd hoped.

Great sound, a few technical issues.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought as a 2020 Black Friday deal. It is a well made, good looking product that feels like it should last a long time. Setup was pretty easy - I was never able to get the phone app to connect properly, but I don't seem to have lost any functionality, as all the setup steps can be done with the remote. I am not an audiophile, and have used cheap sound systems or the TV built-in speakers for a long time; that said, I think this unit sounds fantastic - the subwoofer made the whole couch vibrate, and the atmos / surround effect speakers filled the room with the movies I tested with. I have had intermittent issues with the sound bar and TV unsyncing (HMDI arc). Thankfully I found some instructions on reddit on how to roll back the firmware update and reset the whole unit. Now, when ever it unsyncs, we turn the soundbar off for a few minutes, then turn it back on to let it reconnect. Annoying, but not "throw it away bad". If it didn't have this issue, I would definitely give it another star, and a full 'ease of use' score.

Great sound, horrible software
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have this set up in my bedroom. With the subwoofer and the surround sound speakers your get a mini theater experience. Otherwise, the software for the soundbar and its companion app are awful to work with. About half of the time, the device will not connect to the companion app. Sometimes restarting the soundbar/app fixes this but other times you need to re-pair it entirely. Running an hdmi through soundbar is also a terrible idea when trying to use different inputs for different devices. About half of the options on the remote it comes with don’t do anything thus the necessity of the companion app. For example, i live with a neighbor in a room above me and night mode is essential for not being rude. The night mode toggle on the remote literally does nothing and logging into the app only to find out the soundbar has been unpaired is a headache i’d like to avoid when watching a movie to unwind after a long day. Again, the sound is great and these problems had to be avoided by doing the following things: do NOT connect the sound bar to wifi and plug the soundbar into HDMI-ARC and do NOT run an HDMI through the soundbar from another device
