Great sound for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have a small to medium size room that you’re putting this in it sounds fantastic. It really enhances movies. Would’ve given 5 stars but the first one I purchased died after less than a week so I’m a bit wary of the quality. It’s been over a year with the second one and while there have been a few scary moments where it did what the previous one did right before it did it’s still working great.

Good sound, but flacky
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, the sound is great. However, i periodically need to unplug and plug the power because it stops working. Also was a pain to geit it working rignt with my TCL 65R635 using ARC. If you are tech savy and don't kind restarting it occasionally, then this is good sound for the $$

Great sound but would not connect to SmartCast app
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality is great, but connecting soundbar to Vizio’s SmartCast app is impossible. I have to factory reset the soundbar in order to use the Bluetooth feature. Vizio is sending a replacement due to the issues I’m having. Other than that, I believe the sound quality is amazing. The setup process with the TV was very easy.

Great sound (when it's working right)
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro's - Set-up was super easy and it connected to rear speakers instantly. Sounds great with or without atmos. Great control options with smartcast app (if you can get the app to connect) Cons - Randomly shuts off all the time and it can take a minute or two to get back on again. It updates at least two times a week and the updates never fix anything. When it does update you can't listen to your tv for a minute and when the update is done you have to turn it off and back on again. When I switch the HDMI source all the colors get super dull like I'm losing half the brightness. The only way I've found to fix this is to again turn my tv off and on again. When I turn on my tv it takes a minute to connect to external audio source and the tv flashes on and off about three times saying switching audio inputs The controller that comes with it is ok but the tiny led screen on it has almost no brightness Final verdict - If it didn't have so many annoying little problems I would love it. I don't want to take it back because when it does work it's the best budget friendly surround sound, but if it doesn't get an update that actually fixes anything I might have to take it back.

Great sound and price, but build quality issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound and fantastic price for an Atmos soundbar. Two main issues. One is that it is hard to see what mode it is currently in as the LED lights are pretty useless. Other is the fact mine failed after 3 months due to a firmware update issue. Vizio did replace but still annoying. Supposedly there was going to be an eARC upgrade for this, but nothing has materialized

Little package great sound
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before I give a review I have to point out I do have a theater room with an 7.2.2 Onkyo system that’s punishing a bit over 3,000w. So my idea of a good sound is way above what this unit provides however I wanted to get Dolby Atmos in my bedroom for those days we don’t feel like moving to the theater room. That said, considering the price point this little unit provides clear sound and it does fill the room it is a 5.1.2 so I get the Dolby Atmos experience without having to run speakers to the ceiling. The first one I bought was broken after downloading a firmware update. I return it and got a new. This one updated fine and it working awesome. It says it supports ARC but I’m not using that. We access all content using a Apple TV 4K. I’ve already recommended this to a few friends, I bought it for $300 which it’s a steal for that price.

Vizio Dolby Atmos
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Vizio 5.1.2 system wireless subwoofer with Dolby Atmos is without say a wonderful addition to my Home Mini Theatre, by adding the sound effects as if you are in the Movie Theatre, giving you a wide range of deep bass and if what you are streaming is Dolby Atmos, it is even greater because it truly does sound awesome, and I love the fact that you know what audio is transferring just by the Soundbar because it lights up green to let you know you are in Dolby Atmos audio mode. Truly remarkable system for my needs. I can just imagine what the more expensive models are like and hopefully in the future I will be able to afford one because face it... if you are going to watch a great movie, you need a great sound.

Good entry level Dolby Atmos.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all I would like to start by saying that this is a Dolby Atmos "sound bar" not a Dolby Atmos surround system. That said, you get what you pay for, but it doesn't sound bad by any means. You basically have to ask yourself " do I have the money and space for a real Dolby Atmos system" the full experience comes at $1.5k+ and as you know needs multiple speakers on ceiling, left channel and rear channels. This system does great at try to pull it off with a sound bar set up. The upward firing speakers don't seem to do much. They work...I just don't notice the upward sound experience. 5.1 dolby surround, dts all sound amazing and when running Atmos content it's a scale above that in clarity. The bass is great. And the rear speakers do give more immersion than a standard sound bar. So my final result is...this a a great Dolby Atmos "soundbar' set up and I am enjoying it. (I mostly use for gaming which was main reason for purchase games sound amazing on this also)

Good but not worth the extra work when it acts up
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This soundbar sounds like a good deal and I own a Vizio tv so I figured it would be the perfect combo. It’s not as good as I thought it would be. When it works it sounds pretty good and the atmos feels good, no complaints, can be better but I feel the sound. Out of the box it wouldn’t want to work with the tv, I tried several of HDMI’s included the one included and it didn’t wanted to work through HDMI ARC so I bought a 2.1 HDMI cable and it worked for a bit. Since then sounds goes and comes when it pleases and it’s so annoying when trying to watch something and the soundbar sounds doesn’t work. I go through every setting on the tv and soundbar (including the app) and to no resolution. At this point I’m tired of trying to fix the problem when I think it’s fixed, it starts to act up again. I’ve had this for 10 days and I’m already frustrated. I will just return. TLDR: good but has its problems and if you’re ok to deal with them it’s worth it.

Posted .Hello JCSaves, your sound bar and television connection should work with the cable that came with it as it is rated to handle the audio and video quality needed for 4K HDR content with Atmos. We’d really love the opportunity to have our tech support team run through some troubleshooting steps to see if we can get the TV and sound bar up and running for you. When you have a free moment, they’re available through text message, chat, or over the phone. Just go to support.VIZIO.com and click on ‘Contact Us’.

Sounded great but had to return
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has excellent sound especially for those very low speaking moments. It didn’t seem to like being paired with my Sony tv. Often when I switched apps the sound would stop working. I had to unplug everything and start over to get the sound back. It didn’t always happen when I switched, but it did often enough to warrant a return.

Excellent sound
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much better soundbar than expected. I bought this system for my upstairs bonus room, which is like my man cave. I paired this up with a 65 inch TCL tv, expecting decent sound. The result: amazing! I have better systems in other rooms in my house. In my living room, i have a new receiver, with in ceiling speakers, etc. But, this vizio soundbar fills my bonus room with sound, and receives and plays dolby atmos through dolby digital plus from my tcl tv. When i use the tidal music app, the sound is crisp and fully immersive. This soundbar is more than i could've asked for.

Great Sound Bar But Setup Won't Allow Atmos & HDR
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this is a really good soundbar. When Atmos is working, it sounds great! But there is one glaring problem for me, which may be due to my specific setup. I wanted to watch 4K HDR movies using my PS5, while having Atmos sound. I have the Vizio SB36512-F6 sound bar connected to the HDMI ARC port on my Vizio TV P55-F1 and my PS5 connected to the sound bar. Unfortunately due to my setup I have to turn Full UHD Color (ie. HDR) off to get a picture. I chatted with 3 Vizio rep's (1/10/2021) and finally found out that the TV doesn't support Dolby TrueHD pass-through, which is what is used by the PS5 to pass through sound for blu-ray (4K HDR) movies. The TV doesn't support the bandwidth needed to pass through DolbyTrue HD, only Dolby Digital Plus which is for streaming (Apple TV, VUDU, etc.) So the sound bar itself works great, if you have the right setup to use all of its features. This is just a warning for those that may have a similar setup, that you may not get Atmos AND HDR with your setup, so double check all of your specifications.

Good sound for the money
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound is really good for the money but the app is not that great. Also, if you are using ARC, there are times where Dolby atmos content doesn’t come through because the soundbar thinks that it is using the HDMI In input instead of the ARC input. Overall, even with those quirks, I still reccomemd.

Buy it if you can still find it
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.*** PLEASE NOTE I PURCHASED A FLOOR MODEL *** I own 2 of these, the first one I purchased was new and a good bang for your buck. I liked it so much that I went and bought another one a year later. I opted for a floor model (even better bang for your buck) as I have always had success buying via this option at BB before. Unfortunately this time the store didn't make sure the system works (it was DOA). Rather than return it to BB, I put in a warranty claim with Vizio. They were easy to deal with and even replaced it free of charge for this years 2020 updated model (which cost $200 more than what I paid originally!) I am giving this 4 stars not to diminish the products actual worth. It is the same rating I gave my new one when purchased. My 2 issues with this are the lack of a backlit screen on the controller & no screen on the unit itself. Otherwise it is solid for the price.

Great entry level atoms sound bar.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it for 300$ instead of the 500$ retail price. Great sound for entry level atmos. Can hear the sound traveling around you. Awesome for the money considering the next step up is almost double the price and only adds 2 up firing speakers. Gets extremely loud and I don’t turn it up very high. Blows always my old Bose 5.1 channel setup.

Good sound, decent Atmos, terrible firmware, terri
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to own 2016 Vizio TV and I should have learned my lesson. Their products are known for terrible software/firmware and constant glitches. This soundbar is no different. While the sound is quite good for the money, the soundbar is practically useless since it constantly disconnects itself from a TV (SONY OLED A8H). The Smart Cast app is very slow and glitchy, so is the remote. The soundbar also broadcasts unsecured WIFI signal and there is no way to turn it off! That is simply unnaceptable! All in all, I wanted to return it but it's past the return window. Oh well. No more Vizio products for me. This was the second and the last chance.

Sounds great but has drawbacks
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like many other reviewers I also enjoy the system but have found some frustrating system issues. Allow me to explain.. Like others the system does like to turn itself off at random. I’ve taken the necessary steps to disable the eco power and also hold down the power/volume button to fully deactivate the setting. But to no such luck.. the system still likes to turn itself off at random no matter what setting is active. This happens maybe 1 time a day so far. I’m on ARC. I have not tested running the system via optical, but I will make that change and hope for the best. At this time I love the sound. It’s been great and movies are very crisp. Shows sound great and music will blow you away! All and all, i like what I have. I do not have plans to make a return but will keep my wits about me and say I do not recommend this product if you are used to completely seamless technology. If you’re like me and had a prior system that was also buggy anyway, then go for it and hope Vizio can resolve the issues in future updates.
