I love, love, LOVE this item. The sound quality produced is phenomenal! The bass goes so deep you can literally feel it in your bones. I'm only giving it 4 stars though because every once in a while, the subwoofer and back speakers (that are connected wirelessly to the soundbar) cut out for a few seconds, sometimes longer.

I finally purchased this soundbar during Black Friday after watching it since it’s debut in early 2020. While the soundbar produces great sound and the subwoofer rocks the house, it’s not perfect. When I switched between my fire stick and my Xbox the sound would not adjust with the surrounding speakers and the volume would be quieter than it should be. Until I switched the EQ settings I could crank the volume and still have issues hearing it. Once I switched EQ settings this was rectified. It’s a minor issue but one I noticed happening frequently enough. I saw some reviewers complaining of the subwoofer having connectivity issues; it happened to me one time but outside of that it was fine. The app has a lot of functionality and is simple enough. It’s definitely not without its issues but I’m sure a future firmware update can address those. For Dolby atmos content, this system is fantastic. Felt like I was in the movie theater! The remote is also very well done. Has a built in backlight too. The volume bar on the soundbar was not digital; it was a vertical display then increased and decreased when adjusting volume and it was hard to tell how high or low the volume actually was. I particularly did not like this design but outside that, the soundbar is aesthetically pleasing. In the end, however, I ended up returning this. Not because I didn’t like it, because I really did like it a lot, but because I just can’t justify the price for my needs. I do not watch enough movies or surround sound content. Would I recommend for the $999 price tag? Not so much. But at $699-799? Absolutely.

I used to Have an LG soundbar which wasn't the best and upgraded to the previous Vizio one and I loved it. Then I heard this one was coming in and I pre-ordered it as soon as It was available. I've been using it since day one of the launch and I have to say. It is definitely a big upgrade over the previous Vizio I had (which I also loved)
It literally takes 5 minutes to setup with my XBOX one X and Sony TV and another 5 minutes to sync the app to the soundbar and tune it to your liking. I was skeptical about the autorotation of the height speakers but after using it all this time I have to say that is one of the best features of this soundbar. When the height speakers are firing forward with normal 5.1 contend it definitely adds clarity and the voices sound crystal clear. When ypu play Atmos contend they auto rotate and you can definitely tell the difference between normal 5.1 and atmos contend.
Out the box the sound it not bad but I do recommend changing some settings here and there. First of all, make sure to download the app. It's 100x better than the remote.
Out the box the rotating speakers are set to up position only. I recommend changing that to auto.
For regular contend (not atmos) I recommend using the Movie EQ. When you use the Movie EQ on atmos contend you might hear some crackling or static on the height speakers so I don't recommend Movie EQ for any atmos contend.
For Atmos contend I recommend using the Direct EQ. Sometimes I forget and I leave it on Direct EQ for all contend and it still sounds great.
XXX Do Not set the surround sound to DUAL just leave it set to ON. It makes the sound from the rear speakers the same as the front speakers making you lose a lof of the details on what you are watching. Dual works for music because you hear it from all the speakers but for everything else you just lose all detail and immersion.
The subwoofer hits loud and hard so depending on your preference I would adjust it accordingly. I don't like overpowering bass that may drown out detail but I like it when it hits hard. I have it on -1 for the Subwoofer but +2 on the bass.
Any other setting apart from setting it to auto on the rotating speakers and using Movie EQ for regular content, Direct EQ for Atmos and leaving the Surround to ON is up to your preference. One thing is for sure. You will love the experience you get from this soundbar.

Got this one at a discounted price and so far loved it.The product is heavy and setup took some time. The instructions are neat. All the parts are packaged neatly. The rotating side speakers look fancy but not sure how they would turn out after some wear and tear. As mentioned in the other reviews switching sources make the unit go mute ,sometimes for few sub seconds and sometimes forever having the need to restart entire setup.May be a firmware upgrade or something can fix this. Another issue is with Aux VA connection.Do not enable it other wise unit goes haywire when switching inputs sometimes.
HDMI CEC is enabled for this device but works intermittently. The control via TV remote works most of the time but sometimes I have tough time with the remote.
Having said all this, the unit sounds exceptionally good when it works. The adjustments named center and dialogue are really helpful for hearing the dialogue without overwhelmed by the background music in the scene. The sound quality is great. Virtual X mode is anither great way to pump up the action.
Vizio has to work on firmware and settings to make the experience better.Giving this unit a 4 star as I do not mind few seconds of silence during switchin.once switched I have hours of Dolby experience.
The price tag of 900$+ is bit too expensive for the bugs this unit have .The unit deserves a 5 star if the price was a bit low for all the bugs it has

Everything I hoped for

Vizio Elevate was everything I hoped for. It was a big upgrade from my budget Vizio soundbar (I forgot what model). I researched this soundbar for a while. I watched video reviews as well as its rtings review. I trust Rtings judgement because their reviews led me to my Vizio P series. So I trusted their Elevate review. I managed to secure the Elevate for $800, its regular price is $1100.
This thing is powerful, its satellite speakers are strong, which makes surround sound more entertaining. Lastly, dialogue/voices are very clear and balanced with the rest of the sounds of the movies/tv shows. My budget Vizio soundbar’s dialogue was drowned out by the rest of the sounds. For example, I would need to raise the volume and put closed captioning on. Then when there is a crash or noise in the movie, it is unnecessarily loud. I would then need to put the volume down and struggle to hear the dialogue. It was a fight everyday between me and that soundbar.
Vizio Elevate does not have this issue, at all. Talking/dialogues are clear and appropriately balanced so that it won’t get drowned out by sounds.
Just like my purchase of the 2019 Vizio P series Quantum X a couple of years ago, Elevate was also a worthy purchase. I have had zero buyer’s remorse with Vizio products.
Their quality matches the best of the best, and their price is beaten by nobody. This is truly something that can be labeled the best best bang for your buck.

Excellent sound quality and immersion for the price that you pay. I have a limited amount of space so a full Dolby Atmos set up was out of the question. So, I settled on the Vizio Elevate 5.1.4 soundbar, and I have been very happy with the purchase. It has booming bass, as well as commendable highs and mids, and the surround sound is very convincing and immersive. The gimmick of the rotating speakers is very cool to show off to people who have never seen it before, but the motor does make noise. Shouldn't be a problem because the Atmos signal (which is what prompts the speakers to rotate unless you choose to do it manually) is detected immediately so the rotation should be complete by the time the media you've selected to watch actually begins. Now, I've read that there are some concerns regarding the durability of these motors and I want to say that I've had this set up since 2021 and have used it fairly regularly. Still zero issues on my end with those motors from a mechanical standpoint. Would deduct .5 a star if I could just because the motors powering the rotation of the speakers on the soundbar itself aren't exactly quiet as I mentioned earlier.

Best speaker system of bought in my lifetime. The base works so well. You have to keep it on the low volume. Had a little trouble pairing with my TV, but gotter done. Some movies it sounded like stuff was falling from the top of The room to the floor.

Elevate your Movie and Gaming experience

The Vizio Elevate is a truly unique and top notch experience for both newcomers and those who have been using surround sound systems since the beginning. The one of a kind designs incorporates two upfiring height speakers on each end of the soundbar which will rotate to bounce sound off of your ceiling whenever a Dolby Atmos or DTS-X signal is detected. When there isn't one of those codecs available the speakers rotate back down to provide a wider almost concert like sound stage for music and such. Combined with a wireless sub and two satellite speakers which also have fixed height speakers to give you a 5.1.4 set up that literally encases you in a bubble of 360 degree sound. This is something that must be experienced as words cannot really do it any justice. With all the connectivity options you can ask for including the latest HDMI standards and eARC it was easily connected to a LG OLed and Xbox Series X without any effort. Full 4K@120 gaming with both Dolby Vision and Atmos without any lag or delay whatsoever. Movies and shows are at a quality where I'm not sure I would ever go to a theater again. This system is both incredibly crisp and clear and capable of enough bass to shake pictures off the wall. All in all easily the best I've ever owned. I would argue that for the value it is also the best option for premium soundbars on the market. Highly recommended!

Replaced an older Nakamicha sound bar with this. I got the VIZIO OLED as this makes it very easy to mount with it. Sound quality is great. I know ive seen reviews on here and reddit about the speakers when turning they make an awful sound. I am lucky and dont have this issue so thats nice lol. But the sound is phenomenal the sub is very punchy (enough to where i have it set to -3) the app is OK my biggest wish for this bar is that it would have ethernet and not Wifi only for connection.

So far, so good. Have had this about 6 months now and have put pretty much everything through it. Sounds great, really fills a room which is hard to do for a soundbar. Bass really thumps. Thought it might not be enough but I've been pleasantly surprised. I do have an issue sometimes with it not switching correctly between different inputs and streaming services (it especially has difficulty with Apple TV for some reason), but I just turn it off and on again and it usually works fine. I like that you can adjust the levels for each speaker and turn the up-firing surround speakers on and off manually so it just points them all forward.

I bought this on clearance because I really wanted to try it out. In my house I have a man cave with a great receiver and complete surround sound system, and it works spectacular. In my living and all 3 bedrooms I have sound bars. Obviously my living room has the most expensive of the bars and sounds the best, but it still was less than satisfactory - but with limited space it was my best choice. Now since all 5 of My TV’S in the house are top of the line Vizio’s - I had very high expectations - but actually very little hope that it would be good enough to satisfy me ….
THEN I BOUGHT THIS sound bar …. And I got to tell you, I couldn’t believe it myself …. The Elevate really does sound amazing. Even with my really high ceilings I still actually get that movie theater sound experience….. as good as the man cave - no - but it exceeded ALL of my expectations, and I find it hard to believe that there is anything better at producing such a great sound - especially for the price !!
If you can - GO BUY IT - it’s worth every penny - especially when you get on sale.!!

I initially bought the M series elevate ! That was an awesome sound bar too.. however found the base to be slightly less , black fridays deals had this one for 599 and although bit skeptical after reading some of the reviews . I eventually bought this one . The basic setup was easy … mobile app one was not the simplest.. however once it was setup it jusy works fine . The sound quality is terrific .. base is just too good (it’s recommended to keep sub level on the lower end ) . Surround speakers are too good . Its a pretty heavy soundbar compared to M series elevate . I m mighty impressed by Vizio.. i have a Samsung Harman Kardon 5.1,2 sound bar for my TV downstairs and this one is giant leap and on a different level all together

Love the sound out of this setup, I like the way the sides of the bar turn up when it detects atmos. The subwoofer is a 10 in the bass department. Try watching Jurrasic park. Extreme bass! Sounds are crisp, I can hear the buzzing and crackling of electricity in a movie. The downsides are it is extremely hard to update the software. Also in some cases, there is a 2 to 3-second delay in sound during some scenes. The sound would cut out consistently with different movies or shows. I ended up returning it.

Paired with a 70" Vizio TV in our recent basement remodel. This Vizio Elevate 5.1.4 sounds awesome. The rotating speakers are neat, but in truth I'm not sure I can hear a difference. It sounds great with those outside speakers facing forward or upward. There isn't any content through my standard xfinity cable provider that sends Dolby Atmos signal. There is a fair amount on Netflix and I would imagine on other streaming options. The Atmos signal is what tells the sound bar to rotate upward. You can also do it manually on the remote.
I haven't had good sound anywhere is so long that I forgot how great it is. Even the Geek Squad guys who installed everything were impressed. They hadn't installed this model previously.
The system can be a little quirky from time to time when especially when switching inputs. The delay for sound to engage on the next input seems longer than it should be to me, maybe 4-5 seconds sometimes which is annoying. Sometimes you just won't get any audio at all and have to cycle through inputs or shut the whole thing off to reset.
I think you get an awful lot of high quality sound at a pretty reasonable price. I think I paid $799 on sale just before Christmas 2021. If you can deal with the hiccups it's pretty sweet sounding.

Wow!!! I'm going to keep this short and sweet. The power this brand has for this model sound bar is absolutely amazing. Not to get in-depth about everything IMHO, this is what matters to the average person. Deep bass adjustable check, Subwoofer adjustable check, Treble adjustable check, Surround sound adjustable check, ok you get the point....there are other features that matter that you can customize to your liking this unit has as well. The clarity is on point, I played 4K movies that has dolby vision, Atmos etc... Yes this unit captures it and pushes it out without a glitch! Vizio has found it, now keep it going! I understand that there are things that you can point out that could have been added, but sometimes I believe that's were a lot of brands start to mess up. The price and for what all this sound bar can do is perfect!

Like other reviews state, this sound bar is riddled with bugs! There are too many to state, but here are some of the more annoying ones I've experienced in the two months I've owned this:
-HDMI eARC connection issues. I turn the TV on which also turns on the sound bar. No sound will be output. To fix this I either have to power cycle the sound bar or select the HDMI eARC connection via the SmartCast app, even though the app shows it's already on the HDMI eARC connection.
-Sound will only output from the speakers that rotate (power cycle required to fix, although this has been a rare occurrence)
-Sound will only output from the surround speakers (power cycle to fix, although this has been a rare occurrence)
Basically my biggest gripe with this thing is getting it to properly work without having to cycle the power or constantly having to reselect the HDMI input it's already on via the SmartCast app or the remote. As for the remote, sometimes the sound bar simply does not register any signals from it. Again, power cycling the sound bar will fix this as well.
A minor annoyance when playing dolby atmos content is that every time the movie is paused or I fast forward/rewind the sound bar no longer registers the atmos signal so the speakers rotate back down. Then when the content is played the speakers rotate back up. So if I'm fast forwarding in small sections (like the 10 second skip ahead option on some sources) the speakers are constantly going up an down, thus putting unnecessary wear and tear on the motors.
Another annoyance is that you can only turn off the annoying voice that blurts out which connection you are using (HDMI 1, Optical, Bluetooth, etc.) together with the display lights, but not individually. So if you don't want to hear the annoying voice every time you change inputs/outputs but want the display lights so that you can have a visual confirmation of what input/output you are changing too, you're out of luck.
Overall this system sounds great when it's working, but the amount of firmware bugs is unacceptable for how much you're paying (and yes I am using the latest firmware). My wife keeps nagging me to return it because she's not good at troubleshooting it when it's not outputting any sound but I got it on sale and enjoy the sound when it's working, so I'm keeping it for now. If I did end up buying it for the $1,099 price however I would have returned it as at that price it's not worth dealing with all the random issues I've described above.

This is an amazing soundbar/speaker setup that truly does deliver on the promise of "no compromises" home theater like Dolby Atmos audio in a single, sleek, package.
That said, it would drop HDMI signal Every time there is any delay whatsoever.
What do I mean by this? Easy. If you are playing a game, this sound bar will drop the entire HDMI signal (audio and video) completely between even the briefest of loading screens, cuts between cutscenes, changing from a video streaming app (Disney+, HBO, Paramount, etc.) to a game, etc.
Aka, whenever you run your devices through this you are going to experience Constant "Experience Breaking" signal drops; in particular when gaming or attempting to game anyway.
I am going to wait until Vizio puts out a new model with HDMI 2.1 as well bc this thing's HDMI 2.0 is not cutting it and it's Taking Away Features you may have on your TV; such as 120Hz (FPS in games), Variable Refresh Rate or VRR (Prevents frame tearing in games) and who knows what else (likely color depth/bit rate due to bandwidth limitations, etc.).
I did attempt to rectify these issues with Vizio's support, but they were just book readers and were no help at all.
**My soundbar came with the latest firmware and it still had all of these issues. The app was completely unusable as well.
Great sound, but buyer beware of this thing's super janky nature. I would recommend this for people who are plugging in their TV's ONLY.

So I just picked this up today and set it all up. I'm coming from a Vizio SB36514-G6 which is a great soundbar! This Elevate is absolutely better for my needs. The 48" width make a HUGE difference in the sound stage. The audio quality is stunning and the subwoofer BANGS! The Atmos/DTS X speakers rotated flawlessly when atmos signal was detected via Native Sony x900h Netflix app, and Netflix on Xbox One X. I'm pretty impressed.

The Vizio Elevate packs a lot of power and is definitely worth the value compared to other 5.1.4 systems available. You'll love this system if you enjoy body pumping bass and realistic submersion of sounds as if you were in a theater, while being in the comfort of your home. Upgraded from an older Vizio surround bar system for the hopes of a true, real-life experience - and that's exactly what you get with this system. The sounds you experience from this system will make you think you are part of the element you are experiencing. From the movies, to the games to the music...there are so many customization options that can be made to tailor it to your liking. There is so much provided you may find yourself tuning things down a bit to get the right experience for your liking. The app and connectivity could use continued refinement, but Vizio is aware and appears to be working on it. Switching between different set-up's and modifying the settings works best, which allows you to be in control of what you experience, hear and feel as a result. Can't go wrong with this set-up as you won't find anything better for the price.

Good: attractive, high quality materials. Novel effect (rotating speakers) works well and makes a difference for Atmos. Surround sound effects are great-have upward firing as well. Sub is big, though and the surrounds are wired so plan accordingly. Plenty of inputs Bluetooth works great, even analog 3.5mm, was able to hook up my turntable. Remote works great nice little screen, minimalist but intuitive. Bad: many unsuccessful attempts to hook up WiFi. Not necessary (don’t use Chromecast) but, need connection to update software! Display on bar too minimalist for my taste (have to learn the light patterns).
