Was a little skeptical of the casting thing at first but I must admit it is much better and more convenient than I assumed. There was a slight learning curve but once you get the hang of it it's much better than native apps on the tv. Tablet quality is pretty decent too. Picture quality is suburb, it's nice to finally see all the little details in dark scenes and everything just kind of pops on this set. Don't think I've actually seen any 4K content yet but regular Blu Rays and casting from Netflix and HBO looks great. Only real disappointment was the lack of casting in the Amazon app but there is a low quality workaround using the Google cast app that just displays whatever is on your tablet/phone screen. We are an all iPhone family so don't know how well it works with other android devices besides the included tablet but I assume it's all the same.

I've owned this TV since May 2016, and it's been a great TV, specifically came from a 32" Sony with CCFL backlight, and the LED, size, and local dimming are terrific features. HDR content looks good as well (Roku Ultra and UHD Bluray), and Vizio has been really good with firmware updates and sending an updated remote for no charge (for the added smart TV apps that came out in 2017). Decent with gaming as well (Xbone, PS4, Switch, and Wii U).

I own an Xbox One S and reviewed many 4K HDR TV's before purchasing. Vizio has always been my favorite brand due to; 1. Great price 2. Getting more out of less 3. Exceptional customer service 4. Exceptional quality and 5. Long lasting. This particar model is great because the first 4 HDMI ports are all capable of 4K HDR for movies and gaming but also because HDMI port 5 is made for low-lag/low-latency gaming! Port 5 doesnt have HDR capability. Its barely noticeable though! After much testing I have found that though HDR is gorgeous and really brings the game/movie to life. The problem is if your a hardcore gamer it really does run almost 1 second behind. Loss of frame rate and increase in lag for amazing picture or no HDR and you can barely tell the difference. 10/10 best size and functions for the price!

This Vizio display produces the best true black picture I've ever seen. Colors are very vibrant and the brightness is realistic with HDR. Video gaming looks great and upscales DVD and Blu Ray quality. Highly recommended

Vizio delivers again as it has with past models. I helped my parents select the TV for their living room and went with the moderately priced Vizio on the market at the time (read: I researched and found that Vizio had the best bang for their buck) and they nor I was disappointed. After much research and humming and hawing around looking at what Samsung and LG had to offer, I decided to stick with Vizio and was not disappointed. It comes with both a basic remote and a smarter tablet remote for all your streaming needs. I like this as you can use the remote, or you can use whatever smartphone you have within reach at the time. In addition, Vizio didn't mark up the price for the tablet that's included so there's no downside. They also managed to avoid the clunky UI that has created problems with many other Smart TVs. The picture is beautiful, color range is great, and for gamers it has low latency settings and HDMI ports. The size is great for the average living room, even a little large. More HDMI and USB ports than you'll know what to do with. Sound is great, but it's not going to outperform any external sound systems; for a flat panel it's more than sufficient. You won't be disappointed with this television. As with any TV you'll want to tweak the settings to your living room; don't be one of those fools who expects it to be picture perfect right out of the box as that would be dumb luck. Treat her well and she'll give you exactly what you want in a TV.

This tv is great for gaming! It has very low latency and the picture quality is phenomenal. My only issue is with the "smart" android remote. It's a hassle to get working and sometimes it doesn't connect to the tv at all. It also makes you use an app to control functions on the tv.

Good points: Picture is awesome in 1080p The unit itself looks good Blacks look great Price seems low for the picture. Bad point: The tablet control system I am one of many that have the cannot cast issue that plagues some units. I've tried my phone, friends phone, another tablet. I would settle if I could hook tablet up via usb cable and control it that way but usb port is mainly for service. I really hope they get the casting thing fixed..maybe it was a bad run one day or something..who knows..cause lots of people have no issue. I can't recommend this unit to anyone until I see the casting work. Then I will revisit my review. If I had a Roku4 I might not even care about the casting issue cause the picture is nice.

Picture is quality. Love the casting feature and the tablet remote. Extremely easy to set up. No other TV can match the P-series without paying significantly more money. I'm very happy with this purchase.

There are some fantastic reviews out there so I'll keep it short. I love the dark level detail, having full array back lighting is a fantastic experience. anything 1080p and up really upscales very well. I like having all the connectivity. Off angle viewing is quite horrid, the 55" has an IPS panel that helps. the lack of content control for usb storage is a pain.

Picture is amazing. I watch alot of movies and play games on the tv and the picture quaintly is awesome. The only thing that makes it so I don't give it 5 stars is the tablet that comes with it is a bit glitchy when casting and if you own another vizio tv the remote for it seems to be on the same frequency making the 4k tv turn off when the other tv turns off or on

The 50inch is the only model of the P series that does NOT have a 120 native refresh rate, its only 60 (cnet.com) Thee Tablet is worthless and nothing more then a gimmick, color is fairly good but if youre used to a 120 refresh rate you will notice the bland colors / blur at times. Unfortunately best buy is not aware of the native refresh rate of this 50inch tv..

The vizio full array 4k is a great display. this thing beats down the door of the more expensive Sony xbr850 series. The vizio DOES NOT comes with digital tuner if you do not have cable or sat service.your only choice is streaming The built in streaming is great?, No, not really the available app selection is good enough, but it would be nice if a firmware updated added the ability to source more apps, such as Motor trend or AMAZON the apps can only be cast---After all it is only a display.The casting feature is a bit odd, but it works. I am not full satisfied with this portion of the product. Casting is not a great way to view ANYTHING. it will not be in 4k, and some items only cast video, not audio as well. I have been wanting to get rid of it frankly, but it displays well. I will probably purchase a 4k roku in order to actually see 4k content.

When I read that the 2017 Vizio P Series would retain the same hardware as the 2016 models, albeit with new firmware that the 2016 models would also receive, and that the 2017 models would not include a tablet but a remote, I grabbed one before it was gone once I learned as of right now there is no 2017 P50. Terrific VA panel, great blacks, plays well with the Xbox with minimal lag, excellent calibration tools, plus Dolby Vision, all at a reasonable price.

The picture quality of this 4k Display is stunning. Most online reviews have it spot on. 720p and above content looks great, less than that the upscaling could be better. I have viewed 4k content from Netflix using CAST and it looks good despite compression from netflix. 1080p uncompressed looks amazing. I have found that the Wifi connection to the set is a little slow despite having a very strong fast signal. Will probably switch to hardwired solution.

I read tons of reviews of how regular TV looks aweful...... have the UHD package and it looks great. Where this TV shines, is streaming. It can use WiFi, but I hardwired the Internet and this display is awesome. It's inexpensive, 4k, and easy to navigate (as long as you are comfortable with a smart phone.....s it uses Android).

The Vizio P-Series is one of the best 4K HDR TVs I’ve seen in 2016. Factor in the picture quality, price, and included tablet, I would definitely place it at the top of any TV buyers list right now. My video review can be found on YouTube. com / TechcellentNews

i was hesitant about Vizio at first till i researched the company and impartial reviews on CNet etc after doing some research i was quite impressed with what i read and the special memorial day sale made this an excellent value for the most current model. the picture is excellent and the tablet is a nice addition and easy to use if you are familiar with an andriod or apple cell phone. It actually works as a tablet as well. The only drawback to this and any LED TV is the angle you should view it at but that has nothing to so with the TV but the technology of LED back light

I haven't upgraded my tele in close to 10 years. I just loved my plasma too much. So when it came time to upgrade I began looking at 4K options. After hours and hours of research I settled in on the Vizio P Series - I've been impressed with their reference monitors. It's quite an experience using a tablet to control our video consumption and it did have a learning curve. It often requires a bit more intuitive competence than is necessary to get things set up, but once it's working the P series really shines as a gaming television, 4K monitor, and visual consumption device. My only complaint is on set up. It was not a wonderful experience.

Really enjoy the 4k TV, the picture is great along with the HDR color. The Android tablet remote fun but not as usable as the new remote that was shipped to me after the firmware update. I love the SmartCast tech.
