Strange lighting, clear picture

The one thing that bugs me is the lighting. Whenever there is a black screen with the loading symbol, you can see the local dimming zones shutting off around the symbol. The other thing is the picture modes. Out of the box the standard mode that the TV is set to sucks. I have a really dark room with very little natural light and I still struggled to see the picture clearly. That issue was fixed when I changed the picture to dynamic.
