The VIZIO 50" Class M7 Series 4K QLED HDR Smart TV is a solid choice for budget-conscious consumers looking for a quality viewing experience. It excels in picture quality and offers a user-friendly smart platform. While the sound quality could be improved, this can easily be remedied with external audio solutions. If you're looking for a value-packed 4K TV that won't break the bank, the VIZIO M7 Series is definitely worth considering. It provides an impressive overall package for the price.

I really like this TV. I really believe that Vizio is stepping their game up a little bit at a time. Out of the box it worked and looked great but the OS was a little slow and lackluster. After about a year, maybe a year and a half, the TV got a huge update and the majority of our OS problems disappeared. I use it mostly for the PS5 and the colors, the refresh rate, the sound all look great for this price point.

    Good Budget Premium 4K

GREAT picture, slow OS. I wanted a budget premium 4K TV and this one had all of the features I was looking for in a 4K display under $600 (Sale price). It has HDR, Dolby Vision, and a sick Gaming Engine. I do however yearn for a snappier feeling OS. Vizio has such a cool OS that would be top tier if it was a bit faster. There is also an obnoxiously noticable remote sensor lag when the TV is initially powered on. I also use a relatively newer model Vizio Soundbar that is connected via HDMI Arc. On frequent occasion it is not recognized when the TV is powered on. I have to go to the admin menu and reboot the TV to get the soundbar to be recognized. I also updated the soundbars firmware via the Vizio support site and the issue persists. Overall its a nice display once everything is fired up and running.

I know what you're thinking. It's technology of course it's real. But seeing a TV running in the store is not the same as seeing it at home without all the lights on. Qled boasts a billion colors, this of course would make anyone skeptical. But after actually watching TV and Xbox games on this screen I'm a believer. The setup was glitching on connecting to the remote, I actually ended up in a gray screen with no options. Cold restart, unplug it. Came back into the same screen where I was trying to connect to the remote and it finally did work. I would suggest walking away while it tries to connect to the remote. I didn't give it enough time. Finally overall satisfaction is very high. I spent more than I normally would on a TV. My last TV was a $300 job, I killed it with day in and day out use for over a year. I hope this one last much longer, that would be the real test. I'll check back in a year and let you know. Recommended for now. This is my third vizio. My first one still works, because I didn't ride it as hard as I did the second one. And even though it died. I still like this brand.

Great tv for movies and gaming. You will have to fiddle with the picture settings at first to get everything looking good, but it’s not a big deal. Colors pop and movement is good. Gaming is great at 60hz. There are a ton of apps preloaded and you can’t get rid of them. You can however rearrange them so it’s not that big of a deal, but the first two lines are pretty much advertising. The sound is my only con on this tv. It’s all over the place and very tinny. When watching cable, you can be good at a level 7, but try watching something through an app and you need to crank it to 20 before you can get good sound. Get a sound bar and save yourself a hassle.

If like me, you prefer a viewing experience that is truly cinematic in nature as opposed to ultra realistic, this VIZIO smart TV would be a good option at an entry level price point for a big screen. We have also chosen to pair this TV with the VIZIO V-Series 5.1 surround sound and find the entire setup to be adequate, while creating a pleasurable viewing experience. Unlike a majority of TV consumers, I do not prefer an ultra realistic cinematic "quality" in a media display or TV. When viewing a program or movie, I dislike feeling like I am in the same room as the actors where it just feels too real & detracts from a truly cinematic experience. For example, when viewing shows such as Chicago Med / PD / Fire, etc. I prefer a good quality resolution as well as a distinguishable cinematic trait that reminds me that this is a film & not so much a sit in interview with the actors on set. I am just not into hyper realism. Prior to acquiring this VIZIO model, I had purchased a similarly priced & competitive offering from Samsung (7000 series Crystal UHD) and was immediately off-put by the picture. Even after toning down the sharpness & customizing the settings, 30 minutes later my whole family had the same reaction in regard to the Samsung's screen attributes. Eye strain! Contrarily with this VIZIO model, I spent roughly 15-20 minutes performing basic adjustments to the settings and we were promptly watching & enjoying the same programs with no eye strain. Call me old school, but in my opinion, the ever advancing technological picture "upgrades" in a lot of today's TV offerings simply take away from the Cinematic experience as a whole. In closing, if you prefer a picture that distinguishes film from reality, and at a reasonable cost, this just may be the right TV for your viewing pleasure. Cons: The TV remote is very basic / borderline featureless, and the sound quality of the TV speakers are fair at best. All of which is to be expected & well warranted at this price point.

A good (but quirky) TV set

I was debating between the 50" VIZIO M-Series QLED and the comparable Samsung QLED. I eventually went with the VIZIO because I had no problems with my previous smaller HD VIZIO TV over the last 8 years, the VIZIO was rated better for gaming, and the slightly lower price tag. It took me multiple weeks of constant obsessive tinkering to get the picture settings where I wanted them to be. The video looks great now on my custom setting (apart from surprisingly poor viewing angles), and the sound is nice and loud. Watching a 4K Blu Ray via my Xbox One X is a very good experience. I have grown to really enjoy and appreciate the set. Unfortunately, the TV will often default to other picture settings when rebooted, when switching between inputs, or sometimes when leaving apps and I have to manually switch it back to my custom setting. Also, the audio goes out of sync with the video at least once per day, forcing me to reboot the TV. At times, I have to unplug and re-plug the HDMI cable for the TV to detect my Xbox after such a reboot. Maybe some of these quirks can be addressed in a future firmware update (I hope). If I had to do it over again, I might have gone with the Samsung to avoid some of these annoyances. Sometimes you want a piece of technology that "just works."

Very good, clear picture at a good price. However, ended up returning for two reasons: 1. We decided we wanted something bigger (Ended up getting up getting 65" Vizio MQ6. Very happy with that purchase). 2. Didn't have the input/output options we were expecting (I guess I didn't do my research as well as I thought I did). We wanted a TV with Component Cable connection option to hook up to the rest of our slightly older A/V equipment (didn't want to have to replace the rest of our A/V equipment or buy additional adapters).

Absolutely beautiful television. Wonderful color, great accuracy and the gaming engine is top notch. Perfect for watching any content, gets bright enough to avoid glare. I would recommend to anyone. Vizio has always been and will continue to be my go-to brand for top notch, high value, budget TVs.

The dreaded black screen, forced me to purchase a new TV. The picture quality and sound are better than expected. Opening the remote was a challenge, but setup was a breeze. There were a few snags programming my universal remote, but all-in-all I am satisfied with my purchase.

I like the picture it is bright and sharp. Definitely a good value. I'm going to highlight the negatives. First, I've had to reboot it 3 times in the first month, as it doesn't play well with my AV receiver. The remote is so sensitive that it constantly goes past where i want to be. My old Vizio let me create custom video settings and save them instead of just changing the defaults. This is a huge minus. Also, as far as i can figure out, the only way to create a custom list of favorite apps on Smartcast is by using the app on my phone. You can't do it on the TV, which is annoying. Also, while watching a program on prime video, when I've tried to rewind or go forward, on occasion, it has locked up causing me to have to close the app and start over. All that being said, I'm enjoying the TV. Watching a hockey game the picture is so sharp and bright it is almost as good as being there. The definition on 4k movies is better than what you see at a theater.

Great looking picture, sound is good. Quality unit. However it’s advertised as having Bluetooth and that’s not entirely accurate. There is no Bluetooth functioning in the menu to pair up a speaker or headphones. It’s Bluetooth functions are singularly tasked for pairing a mobile device to screen cast/mirror video. Easily rectified with an external device, as it has dual audio outputs, but disappointing to be described as a Bluetooth capable unit.

Great value TV for gaming on next gen consoles. The picture is vibrant and the colors are true. My only complaint is that the HDR and variable refresh rate can cause the screen to get too dark in certain scenes while gaming. Overall, it's a great value TV and would recommend it to anyone looking for a gaming TV in this price range.
