This review is about the Vizo e-55-e5. Unboxing was simple there are 4 tabs to remove on the box allowing you to lift it off of the set. Setup could not be easier just attach the 2 legs using the supplied screws set on your stand attach your connections and go, from start to finish 15 minutes tops. Then things get tricky, unlike the more expensive sets from Vizo this Monitor and that's what it is a monitor for it has no built in tv tuner, uses what Vizo calls chromecast.. This app is downloaded onto either your tablet or phone, these have to be either an Apple product or Android no Windows products need to apply, You get it from either Google play or Apple store. Downloading was simple only took a minute or so. Now Vizo recommends that you "pair your device with your monitor via Bluetooth." I have Bluetooth on all 3 devices I tried to use. And not one was apparently the right "kind" of Bluetooth capable. It then said I must connect via my wi-fi. Ok it found that my provider was infinity by Comcast and asked if I had a Comcast account. I clicked yes at which point it asked for my account information ie: email and password. Each time I tried to enter this information it would kick me out, however, was finally able to get it completed. On to the next screen connecting to my wi-fi, having supplied my network password, it would attempt to connect and here is where it would fail. I could not get pass this screen. Having failed to connect with tablet number 1 on to tablet number 2 this one it could not tell that I had google locator services running and refused to work. Moving on to my phone same issues as before no connection to my network. This is not a big deal if 1. you don't care if you can access all the "smart" tv services or and this is the biggie want access to any of the "advanced controls" to the set which includes such things as color balance and brightness and contrast and sound. I have a soundbar and could not turn off the sets built in speakers. So buyer beware either try and see if you can get this app to work or be ready to contact customer service and see if they can walk you through the issue. As stated picture quality was ok I could find a preset setting that I could live with but the color balance was off a bit to the green side of things. On a side note, I ended up buying a LG product that did have a proper tuner and remote but I guess they feel we do not need or can not manage setting up basic settings because it too was preset only. which is odd since every computer monitor no matter how small or cheap has basic controls over the basic controls

HAVE to have smartphone to use tv

I'm not sure if Vizio thought this one through. Please be aware this TV doesn't come with a TV tuner (there's no coax port to hook a cable box or TV to) with this in mind, one cannot access Netflix, Hulu or any other Internet service without downloading their remote app on a smartphone. The default remote only changes input, volume, TV color, and channels (? What channels, no cable hook up) Overall great TV! Can be frustrating if you want to watching something like Netflix, because you have to use your phone for the whole process of choosing the movie, pausing, rewinding, everything. The phone just "Chromecasts" what you want to watch to the TV. It's like the TV doesn't have it's own software. I personally would go back and pay a little bit more for a different Vizio TV that had a dedicated Netflix button on a real remote. TV is a great deal if one is just going to use it for playing games (Xbox, Playstation ect...) That's why I'm keeping it as my second TV.

Thank you for your feedback and review. Some information to help you is that the SmartCast App is only needed to connect the display to the internet. To cast any content you simply open the app and tap on the cast icon. VIZIO

I'm an aspiring cord cutter, using a combination of antenna, kodi boxes to stream my content, a tivo, netflix and amazon. I thought I would like this and be able to live with just streaming. One, ended up not being too fond of streaming, had some kinks I wasn't able to work out getting the kodi boxes streaming the recorded tv, or live tv from my pc to the tv. Add on top of that, the tv simply never remembered settings I put in it, meaning I was forever re-entering information. That got old quick. So when a better deal on a nicer tv came across my email, I returned this and got the Samsung 4K for the same price.

Good value. However casting is a problem. Necessary to unplug tv then plug back in to recognize iPhone or iPad. We use this in our workout room and we use this to cast workout videos from YouTube. So kind of a pain. Have called Vizio twice already and have done what tech support told me to do and still does it. Will attempt to do a factory reset to fix. This tv has no tuner so you need a cable box or cast to tv. Also no time warner spectrum cable support. Other than that it's a good deal for a 55 inch with 4K and hdr.

For the most part the tv is great. It’s nothing compared to my Sharp Aquos, but for the price what can you do? More often then not when you turn on the tv you either have to set it up again or you get that the smart cast is starting up on a constant loop. For the price of the tv this shouldn’t be an issue. I am currently connected just fine to the internet so it’s not that.

This was purchased for my son who uses Netflix and Xbox. Xbox picture looks good. Netflix is not a native app on the Vizio, therefore you need to cast it from your phone. My son pays for the premium HD Netflix. We could not get a good quality picture no matter what we watched. 4K or not just not good. We the attached Verizon Fios Set top box. Picture was no better than streaming Netflix. I suppose if you never had a good TV it would be fine for the price. Otherwise look elsewhere.

The image quality on this display was acceptable for the price range, not a great one but for the price range it was good. That is where it went downhill, the remote app was cumbersome at best, annoying is a more accurate description. Sound was below average but that could be remedied by using a sound bar. I returned my display and upgraded to a Samsung. As long as you understand what this display is you know what you're getting, a basic 4k set. I would not recommend this one.

This Vizio which is a step above their D series and two step below their M and P series did an overall decent job with 4K and HDR material. My gripe with this tv is the blooming effect as this tv struggles to achieve true black color. Because of this, some scences appear “washed out”. They appear dark grey instead of black which would make the other colors really pop on the display.

We researched and bought this Vizio for Christmas, put it up and were very excited by all the smart options. When we sat in front of it, we were wowed. Then we walked out of the room and realized how bad the picture was from any side angle. We adjusted the picture settings, tried different inputs and nothing helped. Looks like I'll be taking this one down and going back for another brand.

Sometimes when I turn it on, there are dark areas, but after turning off and back on they are gone. Also, wished I got a smart TV rather than just cast in hindsight, however the casting is pretty cool and handy. The app is absolute garbage and disconnects from my phone all the time. Super annoying. Overall, I wish I got a different product, but this one is pretty good at the end of the day.

Image on the screen looks great, the built in chrome cast is convenient as well as the other built in apps. BUT, for some reason the screen turns off. It just turns off and all you see is the logo. I am going to see what the manufacturer says and if they will blame me as a user for buying it. When the product works it is great.

I purchased this tv for my husband as a gift. Set up didn't take long and the picture is very clear and crisp. What I can't stand is that it "glitches". When we first turn the tv on, the screen turns on to whatever station it was on before but it will flash a white screen every couple seconds so then we have to turn the tv off and back on until it goes away.

Not a bad product for the price but some issues. Tv is finnicky at times not turning on requiring multiple attempts. Quality of black tones could be better. Borders around picture frames appear at times requiring a factory reset. Obviously Vizio needs to do some QC before putting these on the market.

While the image was clear and bright, the TV functionality was just not what I expected. I blame myself for not doing enough research, but I thought the SmartCast feature was simply an option, not the only way to stream Netflix. Buyer beware- streaming through your phone is the only way to make it 'smart'.

Its nice, looks like a great TV for the price, the picture isn't the best however, color is good but I've seen better on other lesser brand TV's... I would shop around if you're considering it. Had lots of issues with Chromecast and the VIZIO support not the best or most helpful.

The tv is great but its very wide and has rwo pedistal feet on either side. If you plan on buying it make sure you have something to put it on or hang it on a.wall. As for the TV, its got a great picture. The TV remote, however, doesn't do much. You have to download an app to get into settings.

The display quality is good, sound quality is just average. The remote is very simplistic. We have not had issues as of yet but it is not used on a daily basis. If you can find this tv at a good price it is worth it. It is just a basic 4K tv.
