Really a great picture thru my Apple TV 4K. It doesn't get much better watching Dolby Vision HDR movies. There is a known HDMI issue with PS4 Pro but a simple restart fixes it for me.

I'm on the verge of returning this tv. Every so often the screen begins to scramble for a few seconds and then it stops. My HDMI 1 port reads no signal sometimes. I'm going to make a call to best buy tomorrow.

Picture is very good. Remote easy to use, although some of the buttons are quite small for a grown man's fingers. One problem I have been having; when switching from HD to standard the set sometimes loses the channel and I have to scroll through 5 or 6 options to get back to the correct HDMI input. To be fair not sure if this is a fault of the TV or the set top box .

The picture on this TV is pretty decent, despite having a few minor issues with textures in dark scenes. Unfortunately, this model has numerous reported complaints (check reddit, I wish that I had before I bought and mounted this TV) where the video will freeze while the audio keeps playing. I've had this happen many times now, both while using a streaming stick and a PS4, I've tried switching HDMI inputs and cables, all to no avail. I would definitely not recommend that anyone purchase this TV until/unless Vizio issues a firmware update which addresses this issue.

Awesome picture, but the picture goes in and out on my Xbox. The screen turns black then the sound goes out and then it comes back on. Tried to find a solution and couldn't find one. It's not my HDMI cord or connection to the Xbox. It's the t.v.

    Terrible TV

Prior to buying this TV, I reviewed several different makes and models and chose this TV because I have always enjoyed the picture quality of a Vizio. When I was reading the reviews I tried to overlook the negative reviews because it seemed that the positive ones outweighed the negative ones. The TV worked great for a bout 3 weeks then went downhill from there. The HDMI ports started to not recognize the input that was connected. I tried everything from switching around HDMI cables to purchasing new ones. Shortly after that, the TV started shooting lines across it even after a "hard reset". I contacted Vizio customer support and they were of no help other than telling me they needed pictures, and videos of the TV as this was going on. Needless to say, I will not buy another Vizio TV.

Big Step Backward From Past P-Series Models

Love the new price point on this year's models, but sadly, performance and QA have taken a major hit. Having used both a 2014 P55 and a 2016 P65 previously and quite liked them, my P55 in comparison suffers from some major issues, including significant edge-clouding and backlight bleed, extremely noticeable local-dimming, and HDMI issues. Edge clouding and bleed results in noticeably dull colors and increased black levels around the edges of the set (up to a about a foot into the screen on each edge), while the the dramatic cut in local dimming zones (about half of last year's models) results in much less effective local dimming, and very obvious zone switching (you can occasionally also see the actual LEDs in certain bright white scenes). The new God of War in HDR mode looks terrible with local dimming on, with very obvious zone switching and flashlighting as you pan the camera around. The first HDMI port also appears to have issues with HDR content, occasionally losing picture and requiring a reboot. Though far less of an issue, the built in apps are also rather sluggish. Given the more positive reviews below, I'm assuming my set is defective, but given the overall cuts in performance to this years' sets, I'll be switching to a different brand. Big disappointment from a prior fan of Vizio TVs!

First of all, this tv is amazing for HDR gaming. That's why I bought it in the first place. Be advised, however, this tv has a lot of picture adjustment options, which might be hard to adjust for those not very acquainted with it. So make sure to test all the options to get the best picture quality possible. Moreover, the black levels are great, which makes this tv perfect for dark rooms. I don't really use the smart options very much, except for netflix, which pairs with my phone just fine. Not that a care, but the tvs design is beautiful. It has a game mode which makes it great for gaming, snake sure to turn it on if u are playing cause otherwise the input lag is noticeable. Also, remember that one of the HDMI slots does not support more than 1080p, but does support 120hz. Also, don't forget to go to your input and turn on RGB for HDR content. Overall, I can't think of anything bad about this Tv, I got it for a decent price of black friday and I am extremely happy with it.

I had very high hopes for this tv. After months of research and comparison I decided on the Vizio over a Samsung. Big mistake. Within two weeks I have had multiple issues with connectivity. Each of the HDMI ports give an intermittent two second black screen....the sound remains but the picture disappears. The picture does return but within an hour or so it happens again....blank screen, flicker of a show, blank screeen, show comes back. I replaced all of my HDMI cables with new 2.0s and it did not help. Vizio support had me reboot everything but to no avail. Not sure what to do at this point since I'm past my rerun period. Here's hoping that vizio can come up with a workaround.

Today, I'm returning my third Vizio tv

I've now gone through three of these tv's. The first one came out of the box with the screen cracked. The second one, when playing games via hdmi 2.2 to my pc, generated a faint vertical line artifact down the middle of the screen, making viewing soul-crushingly annoying. The screen did this on my other computer AND an Xbox one, thus I can conclude that it is a defect within the set, or the way the tv compiles high refresh rate content is broken. The third one, also maintained the vertical line artifacting when playing games from any input source. It's literally the exact size, shape and color artifact as the last Vizio. No combination of tv settings could resolve this issue. Turning the brightness setting to 100 did eliminate the band, but that is not a solution, It's like staring into the sun on this tv. Different cables, input ports, nothing worked. Is it possible that I'm this unlucky?? No other tv in the house does that when hooked up to any of the above sources. No more VIzio. LG, Sony, Samsung, anything other than VIzio. The customer service guys at my Best Buy probably think I'm absolutely insane, rambling about a faint vertical line on the 3 brand new tv's I've brought back. Embarrassing. The ONLY reason why I gave it 2 stars was due to the picture quality when viewing online videos and 4k movies. It's very clear, with excellent color and lighting dynamics. I've no idea what its problem with gaming content is. I bought a 120hz monitor to utilize that speed, not watch movies @ 24hz with fake "true motion". I'll post a picture I took with my phone, displaying what I'm talking about. Screen-capping with the windows key and prnt-scn key reveals that the source does NOT have verticle distortion. The game is Senua's Sacrifice for anyone wondering.

I went through countless reviews before buying this TV. I owned a 2015 55" 4K M series that had a plastic body before this. It recently started having issues with back lighting. I realized that was my fault because I maxed out the backlight to 100 causing premature failure. Make sure it's no higher then 50% it will last 5 to 10 years that way. Now back to review on this tv that is American made and has a nice beautiful aluminum body and legs. 1st off the picture for a non OLED tv is better then anything under $1,000. I'm not into overpriced OLED TV that will end up with burn in issues if not careful which start at 1400 and up. This TV just wows you with making you feel like your right there. It is a Massive upgrade over my 3 year old M series. The colors are very natural. When watching actual 4 k HDR content at the true 120hz abilty this P series has its amazing compared to anything else out there. Make sure to use the Dark calibrated in normal mode for picture for best ease of use results for a real natural picture for cable TV or Satellite. I find controls to be easy to use and remote to be excellent if you like it simple and less complicated. If you like more buttons then this remote will disappoint. The Smart TV function is excellent and FAST. Anyone says it slow has no idea how to use it. But considering you cant add apps that is the only downside but it makes up for it with built in 4k chrome casting which honestly is way more useful. So you can cast any app or picture straight to your TV from your smart device. 2nd the audio is pretty decent consider there only 10 watt. But I would recommend not using the surround setting and set the equalizer to Dynamic you will enjoy this TV at its finest audio this way. 3rd this TV is usually on sale for $650 the next closest tv of this picture quality is a Sony x900 series that when on sale is $900 and has no chromecast. If your reading reviews that the 55" Roku 4k TCL is excellent. It isnt anywhere near this TV in quality so ignore the hype because its Chinese junk you will be very disappointed. This TV is made here in the U.S.. If you want the roku abilty its better to buy the separate device. Also to note this TV is the only one at this price point with the abilty to plug in up to "five" 4k HDMI devices most are only 2 or 3 a real problem if you have multiple devices.
