Had the tv for about two years, and suddenly half of the screen has a large shadow over the right side of it! Can barely see a thing on the right side of the screen!! Of course, the warranty has expired, and it's a problem that can't be repaired. And when calling Vizio's customer service, they were not helpful whatsoever, and were quick to suggest you buy another one off their tvs. Basically, $800.00 plus down the drain for a tv. Not to mention, there were times the tv would shut off for no reason! You would be better off buying a pair of binoculars and watching tv from outside your neighbor's house than purchasing this set. DON'T DO IT!!!

After trying all kinds of picture settings including internet suggested settings for several days, I realized I would never be happy with the set. I considered having it professionally picture calibrated but decided not to risk the $250. My particular set was one of those that always made peoples faces orange or pink no matter how it was adjusted. I also noticed weaker (480i and even 720p) over the air TV stations really suffered in picture quality. Everything else worked well, but it is the picture that counts first. So I returned it and picked out a 55" Sony X900F that rocks. It cost a lot more but has a really great picture.

Posted .Hello John, Thank you for the feedback. A few things that might help you get the kind of picture quality you are looking for. First, make sure the Display is getting a hi-definition signal. This means making sure that you're source device (like a cable/satellite box) is capable of HD, and that it's connected to your Display with an HDMI cable that can deliver the HD picture. You can also change between pre-set picture modes on the display by pressing the PIC button on your remote. This will toggle between a few picture setting that look good in different situations. If your display is in a bright room try Vivid or Calibrated. If it’s in a dimmer room try Calibrated Dark.

Great 4k, but 1080p looks terrible

I exchanged it for another one and it worked better, but I'm not that impressed. I loved the picture quality when viewing 4k content. But when viewing 1080p and 720p content there was a lot of color banding in dark scenes. This was very obvious and distracting. I returned the TV and went back to my 1080p plasma. I will be looking for another TV
