    Terrible experience with this TV

This TV developed flickering black bars across the screen about 10 months after purchase. The manufacturer offered a replacement (refurbished, not new) TV, delivered and installed by a third party vendor who provided a terrible service experience. After the third attempt, the replacement TV was delivered. The installer commented on how many Vizio TVs he was exchanging, which should have been my warning. Sure enough, within 3 months the replacement TV also developed the same flickering bars on the screen. I won’t waste my time and money on another Vizio product again. Buyer beware.

Number one issue is Vizio is WiFi is always on and broadcasting no off button. cheap, I would have never bought a tv that does this it is very unsecure in my opinion I just wanted a tv that connects with rj45 and that’s it. There is no reason for it to broadcast all the time. Will never buy a Vizio again. Picture is blah, Can’t adjust contrast, either to light or dark. Corners are black. Spent hours with different settings from internet Websites. Conclusion is typical for low end TVs. Could get the same picture on a cheaper brand and save money.

Vizio P Series 2018 Best Budget 4K HDR TV

Just love this tv For the price it has way better color and HDR. I don’t have to deal with poor screen clouding and difformity issues that my TCL 6 series had I had to return 3 of the panels and gave up and decided to give Vizio a try and I’m so glad I did! Pros: Great for watching 4k movies and HDR content Excellent wide color gamut video games look stunning in 4k HD and 4K HDR this panel gets very brite and blacks are deep black inky and whites are very white. Excellent Local Dimming Cons: Sound is not good recommend sound bar! Conclusion: When it comes to gaming this tv blows away even my Sony XBR 900F in both HD and HDR games like God Of War on the PS4 Spider-Man and Horizon Zero Dawn HDR gameplay it’s perfect IMO. 4K Movies and HDR content is fabulous. Highly recommended and for such a low price it’s a steal $$

had to return this tv because of random dark areas on the screen which made it impossible to setup. Replacement set was a different brand and had a nice picture right out of the box.

Had this tv for just a few days and started to notice a white line flickering randomly. It’s very noticeable and takes any focus away from whatever is actually on at the time. Have to return it...

    Great Value

What a great value for the money! I picked this up when it was $699 and couldn’t be happier. Fantastic motion handling and superb peak brightness. 4K movies really pop. I traded in a LGSK9000 for this unit and I couldn’t be happier. Black levels are significantly better then the LG unit (excellent for watching movies at night in a dark room) and peak brightness is better which helps with daytime viewing as well. Colors were a little richer on the LG I think but not so significantly so to justify the price difference. The SmartCast operating system really is honestly useless. It’s slow to respond and clunky to navigate. Webos on LG is way better but I get around this by just using my Xbox for streaming all my content (which is something I imagine most people would do anyway) The built in google assistant feature is also nearly useless. Voice commands with a google home speaker are quite limited and some features that were available (like showing weather and sports scores on the screen through the built in assistant) no longer work. The poor OS is the only thing keeping me from giving it a 5 star review. Picture quality, color representation, peak brightness, and motion handling are all 5 star worthy attributes to me especially for the money. It was on my shortlist from the beginning but numerous Best Buy employees kept trying to talk me out of buying it. Review sites though raves about it, so I had trouble understanding why. I know companies like LG and Samsung have better brand recognition but in terms of performance and picture quality neither company for the price makes anything close to the vizio p series. Finally I talked to an employee at the Concord NC location and through out the three units I was thinking of and what I planned to do with the tv and first thing out of his mouth was get the Vizio. He gave me why it was better and from where he had gathered this information (rtings.com, personal experience and reviewed.com). Finally someone who had some knowledge of the product and not just saying get Samsung because well it’s samsung duh. Yeah that’s not a great answer. So moral of the story is make sure to do your own research folks and once you’ve made your mind up stick with it and don’t be talked out of it by an employee unless they really lay out some facts for you.

    Amazing Picture... Horrid Software

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Ok so first and foremost this TV looks amazing. Last year I was using a Samsung Mu8000 and then I bought a LG SK9000 before Conns broke it but that’s another story for another day. Picture Quality The Vizio has a beautiful picture with a ton of settings to help the average joe get the picture dialed in to their liking. I did notice that some sources don’t look as good as others (HBO Go vs Netflix) but maybe it’s just me. (HBO looked a little grainy for my taste). This TV is super bright and supports HDR 10 & Dolby vision. Quite hard to beat for the price. Gaming I’ll admit if you’re a gamer it’s not quite as fluid as the LG SK9 but it’s still good enough to where the input lag won’t be a nuisance. Game mode takes away a lot of the “flair” but it does help with input lag. Setup and Software. This is where Vizio needs the most help. The software is horrid. It’s probably the worst TV interface I’ve ever experienced. It just seems cheap. It’s also very slow and sluggish. I would say just buy a Apple TV or Roku but the UI still gets used for switching inputs. Remote & app. The remote app is fantastic. I can’t say the same for the remote that comes out of the box. It’s cheap feeling but it has the typical Netflix and amazon video buttons. The app is much better. Casting. A lot of people have issue with the tv due to lack of apps but if you use your phone as the app, casting isn’t so bad. Overall it’s a great TV. The negative points are just things to keep in mind but if you want a great picture for a great price I say do it!

Purchased TV...3 months into it, I had to get replacement TV because of dark spots in the corners. Replacement TV lasted 9.5 months before white distortion lines started appearing. DO NOT BUY! Vizio said "we are sorry you're outside your 12 months of warranty.". By Freaking 1.5 months and on the second TV!

This TV stopped working at just over a year anytime you try to use any of the streaming applications, the TV turns itself off. I contacted Vizio they told me it was out of warranty after one year and the only thing they could do is give me a discount on a new TV. I paid $699 for this one.

Had two of these fail. First one had a pixel go bad and it was replaced by Best Buy. The second one had the LCD panel go bad. It was still under warranty so I was able to exchange it for a different one. It was a really nice TV while it worked, but having two fail in different ways was weird and annoying.

We are very disappointed with this purchase. The network connection fails repeatedly on the TV so shows/videos we are watching are constantly interrupted. I can turn on another device in the same room and have flawless streaming (iPad/iPhone) so do not think this is an internet provider problem. Would have returned product but only really began to see issue after 15-day return policy passed.

My previous TV was a 2015 Vizio 4K HDTV. While the previous TV was adequate it did suffer from artifacts in solid black and dark scenes so I was looking for something better. Wanting a better viewing experience I got the Vizio P-Series 55" 4K HDR Smart TV as an upgrade. This unit is loaded with features making Vizio and even better value for the money some of which are: - Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant control enabled - SmartCast (control and cast with smartdevices and built in Chromecast) - SmartCast Home (browse and launch apps on TV such as Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, Vudu, etc) - Watchfree (over 100 free streaming channels) - Built in TV Tuner for free local broadcasts (antenna required) - support for Dolby Vision,HDR10 and Hybrid-Log Gamma Lots of input and output ports: - 5 HDMI ports (1 of which is ARC enabled for two way link with devices such as a soundbar) - component input - coax input - Ethernet - USB Port - optical out (SPDIF) The appearance is stunning with clean bezel-less design however I do wish the stand was adjustable rather than the 4 fixed legs. The wide stance of the fixed supports legs prevents the use on narrower stands or tables. Also an adjustable height would be nice. Picture quality is crisp with no noticable ghosting or artifacts in dark or black areas. The built in speakers are more than adequate to fill the room but a soundbar or surround sound system really brings the viewing experience to another level, especially with action shows. Setup was extremely easy, basically plug and play. It comes with an infra-red remote but there is also an iOS and Android app for added control convenience, including casting streamed shows, pictures or music from tablets or phones. Vizio has long been known for adding value to their displays and TVs and the P-Series does not disappoint.
