    Great TV for the price

I would give this TV 4 1/2 stars, but you can only give 4 or 5 stars - no halves allowed. This is by far the best bang for your buck TV in the 55 inch size 4k HDR. Yes it is better than the TCL which gets high reviews for it's value on CNET and others places To get something slightly better would cost $1200 for a comparable spec LED Sony or even more for a Samsung. Not worth the $ for a slight improvement. If you want to splurge for a TV and have the money where there is a real difference than go an LG OLED for $1500+. But that's about twice the price of the Vizio. Otherwise get the Vizio and you'll have no regrets.

Perfect size TV for the room we have it in. Great color and definition. We are very happy with this TV. It is great quality for the price, and very easy to use.

I was shopping for TV's in the price range and originally looked at competing brands that were a little cheaper but since this was going in my living room and the side profile was clearly visible when coming in my front door I decided to go with this set over the thicker and uglier side profiles of the cheaper TV's. It has a decent amount of local dimming zones and the picture looks great. All LCD TV's look pretty similar unless you're really getting picky and this price range is optimal for performance.

Great Picture with some odd issues

While the picture is nice, I've noticed that there is a weird flickering of images at times, and have had the tv completely shut off and turn back on. I've also seen a weird pixelation issue, though appears randomly and for a short time then the tv turns off and back on again with it gone. So, I have been unable to take a screen capture. Tried different HDMI ports and happens on each of them. When the TV works, it does have a great picture, HDR and the local array lighting really make a different. Possibly a faulty unit, though either way this is most likely going to be returned due to the random issues I've experienced.

Replaced an 11 year old Samsung LCD and couldn’t be happier. Easy setup. Great colors and black levels. Don’t like SmartCast but don’t use it so it’s a wash for me.

I looked at TV's for a long time and this TV along with the Sony X900F were the highest scoring TV's below 1500. The knock on this TV was primarily the viewing angle, but when I looked at it in store and brought it home, I don't really see a problem. This is a great TV, with great blacks and great color. I bought the Planet Earth II collection and played it from a Sony UHD disc player and I was extremely pleased with the picture. Sure, the OLEDs and premium LEDs are better, but the law of diminishing returns comes in to play pretty quickly. For below 1k, you just can't beat this TV.

The picture is amazing, this TV is really worth it for that. The menu system is terrible, leaves a lot to be desired. Always starts to a home screen with ads for shows/movies you may or may not have access too - for example if you dont subscribe to a particular service. Can't show whats on live TV/cable, like some other systems, without tuning to the station or using the app. Vizio really wants you to use the app, but certain things like Amazon don't work in the app while other things just dont work well. But oh, that picture is SO nice for the price!

    Display Shows Disappointing Pixel Pattern

    Posted .

I am coming from the M Series (M50-C1 - 2015) and was so happy with it that when came to upgrade, I decided to go for the more expensive and feature rich P Series (P55-F1 2018). I use this Vizio primarily with my laptop for work, to play games and watch movies. The P-Series shows a bad pixel pattern, which is pretty annoying. I didn't expect this behavior upgrading to a better series. The M series did not have this issue at all, it showed perfectly smooth colors, not the P series, I am afraid (Photos attached for comparison). For movies this is really not noticeable, but working on the desktop, it is! I am wondering if this is a defect or if anybody else is observing this behavior. I am using this Vizio with my MSI (GS63 STEALTH-010) Laptop I purchased from BestBuy a couple months ago. I tried all HDMI Ports with several different computer, the behavior is the same.

Great FALD 4K tv for the $

I was extremely happy and impressed with the picture quality. The black levels are great on this set and it gets extremely bright. You can't beat the fact that it has 5 HDMI and 4 of them at 2.0 4k. The input lag on my Xbox One X is great too. I got it on sale for 699$ during labor day sales. Comparted to TCL 6 series and the Sony 900F that is 600$ more it's well worth it. The only downfall I would say is the ISO. It's a lil slow. But it does what you need it too. Vizio has stepped up their game. Looking to purchase their new 5.1 dobly atoms surround sound to compliment the TV.

What a great TV! I went through four of a different brand and every single one of them had issues, but my first Vizio has been excellent. Colors are spot on and HDR is nice and bright. I do have one issue and that is that the relatively small number of dimming zones can lead to some cases of blooming with bright things in front of darker backgrounds. I don't see it regularly so I hope its something Vizio can tune with firmware. Other than that I am very happy.

Issue with Xbox One X HDR

This TV has a great picture quality and works great for most use. However, there is an issue with Xbox One X when HDR is enabled. When switching games or apps or after extended play (> 1 hour), the screen will flash on and off intermittently. This seems only to occur when HDR is enabled on the TV. After some research it seems that other people have had the same issue. As of now the only fix is to disable HDR, and disconnect/reconnect the HDMI cable. Rather annoying, seeing as how I purchased this TV specifically for HDR 4k gaming...

Really a great picture thru my Apple TV 4K. It doesn’t get much better watching Dolby Vision HDR movies. There is a known HDMI issue with PS4 Pro but a simple restart fixes it for me.

TV has been good overall. Picture is great but operating system is slow and start up time is very slow. We never use the chromecast system built in. Newer addition of the Apple software has been nice but we mostly use our AppleTV connected to it.

Waited to do a review a year and a half Has one of the best 4K pictures of any television in its class I like it better then my Samsung which had a great picture Reliable with no problems I changed picture settings to my liking Only draw back is angle watching and glare If to far off to side picture is not as good looking at it straight on Also sun glare makes it hard to see if also watching from side angle But take away those two cons and tv is a excellent choice

I love the TV. It's beautiful aesthetically. The picture is fantastic. 4k UHD is amazing. The customizations are extensive and easy to understand. I love smartcast which basically allows anything to be played from your phone to your TV at the quick of a button. The one weakness of this TV is the color when viewing from side angles. It gets washed out if you viewing it from the side. It's noticeable enough to bother me, but not enough to make me not appreciate what this TV is. Great product.

Great tv with a great picture. Works well with my surround sound. The only drawback is the smartcast(streaming apps.) The smartcast is slow and sluggish to start up and is outdated. The Hulu app won't let you pick different profiles. Other than that the tv is great.

The picture quality is great on this TV, games, and movies. While I don’t need the smart features they are nice to have in one place without another device. My only issue is it acts up every once and a while, but unplugging it and plugging it back in seems to work.

This TV I would say it's a really great TV it's not the best but it is a great TV the picture quality is amazing for Vizio 55 inch LED, I've you said to gaming and the TV did well with the coloring and the pictures were very Vivid which is good. But as I was playing too long the TV would shut down and restart due to long periods of time, it could have been due to the heat exposure of the television and that's what caused it to shut down and reboot itself and that was causing a problem for me while I'm playing my games. Vizio is a great brand or sound bars and TVs and other products but they're not really great for long periods of time. But I would choose Vizio any other brand except Samsung. I still own this TV, but I bought me a Samsung qled TV instead.

Compared to other higher price point displays, this television packs amazing quality (high performance backlighting, great color variation, ect.) And great included features. Out of the box your colors WILL bleed over, especially in vivid video setting. I would advise finding some custom settings online or playing with the color tuner. UI, as stated in other reviews m, is a bit clunky; it is a little sluggish but packed with great benefits. All around amazing display at a great price point.
