After spending hours researching TVs, we decided upon the VIZIO 55" M-series Quantum one to replace our outdated 40-something inch. At first, I was hesitant after reading the reviews on this from other tech sites - I rely heavily on reviews and probably sink way too much time into researching my purchases. I thought, "This looks good, but if would spending $X more more a better viewing experience be worth it?" We strongly considered splurging on a TV with more bells and whistles, but ultimately decided that spending $1200+ wasn't the right move for us. I realize that we should take those tech review sites with a grain of salt - sure, there's value in the tests that they conduct, and of course they're going to say that another model that's more than double the price is going to perform better, but at some point enough is enough. And I'm happy to report that we LOVE this TV! It's been just over month since we started using it, and we are completely satisfied with our viewing experience. I can't speak to those that were having hardware issues, since we haven't encountered them - no cracks in the screen, burn in, fading, discoloration, etc. This might be a QC thing, but again, maybe we just got a "good one." I do have to note that we sometimes have trouble casting or connecting to some apps (it takes a while, or requires turning the TV on and off). But this isn't big enough of a problem to warrant a negative opinion. All in all: For the average viewer like myself, we want a TV that turns on, looks great, and sounds good. This TV hits all the marks on that front, plus with the addition of smart features (all the streaming apps built into the home screen, casting ability, etc.). If you care more about specs and have the disposable income to afford a more expensive TV, then sure, skip this one. But for under $600? This is a great purchase.

Beautiful picture, can use wifi enabled app to control tv makes switching settings, and inputs a breeze. Barely have to touch the remote. Set up was soo easy. took all of 5 minutes and there is even a digit manual to few everything on screen. Bought on black Friday and all this time later it still surprises me on the quality of picture and ease of use. No problems or issues what so ever and I use this bad boy every day minimum 6 hours! Hangs beautifully on rocketfish wall mount

So after Comparing and trying several in my home I settled on the Vizio M Series. The TCL had horrible uniformity and Samsung in this price range is a complete joke. You get Full Array Local Dimming, 90 zones, QLED amazing wide color, fantastic black levels, 600 nits of light output(more than enough to make you squint) and great screen uniformity. It's got what you want, and honestly unless your going to buy an OLED, it's just not worth spending anymore money for a fancier LCD.

Great picture quality at a decent size and price. In particular, contrast and refresh rates are excellent. Only drawback for me personally is the lack of an App Store but this is made up for with Airplay 2 and Chromecast support so you should be able to watch anything you want really.

The quality for this TV is amazing the colors really pop and the SmartCast is extremely useful. I didn’t need to get any other streaming device and was just able to use the built in smart tv. It is also very easy to setup which is great, it was up and running in under 10 minuets.

So I first want to say that the picture quality of this tv is amazing but sometimes during shows in dolbyvision on netflix, the screen turns pink. I can fix it by changing the picture mode and then going back to what I already had (a custom preset). Also, it will randomly kick me out of the youtube app and back to the main screen. The software is also very clunky but that isn't a big deal. The firmware has also been updated to the latest version. If these issues could be resolved with a future update then I would change the rating to 5 stars.

Vizio is an American based TV brand. The product works as expected the Vizio Smart Cast not reliable to stream its service. But if you connect the TV with Roku or Google TV makes the TV very good the price.

This TV has amazing Quantum Color, 4K picture with exceptionally clear and sharp picture and high resolution, and has all of the features I could have ever asked for and more! There are many apps to choose from natively including the big-name streaming apps and Youtube, Chromecast / SmartCast built-in support, etc. So far I love it!!! The best part is this is one of the most quality-for-the-money Quantum 4K LCD 55" TVs available.

Great picture love the size fits perfect. When trying to use airplay to it tends to buffer and when I try to change inputs it locks up and sometimes I have to unplug it. Getting a new router today hopefully will fix.

I was a little hesitant to buy this TV because of the price and the brand. To my surprise, the picture is outstanding, the Quantum technology delivers deep black (Not the gray blacks), and the processor up-scales even regular HD DVD's to 4K. I have to say that I do not regret this purchase a single bit. Also Best Buy was able to match the price provided by another online retailer. The product is great and the service is awesome!

The HDR needs a little work, but for the price I paid for the TV is incredible. The Dolby Vision and sound is perfect. How can they make something like this so cheap!? I am recommending these to all friends, or if they wait a better model with a less expensive price will be out soon enough. This one is a 2019 with all the bells and whistles included except Roku. Oh Well, for a penance more you can have your Roku built in.

My boyfriend and I got this TV to replace a 2017 Vizio TV that we loved but got broken by accident. I had been researching for awhile and kept going back and forth between the Vizo M-series or the cheaper Vizio V-series. This M-series has the Quantum color technology and when I saw it in person I was hooked! Amazing amazing picture! It's important that when getting the M-series make sure you are getting the M558-G1 model! NOT the M557-G0 (less brightness and dimming modes). Overall we are so happy with our purchase, and everything we have watched on the TV looks absolutely stunning. PS4 games look great too. There are endless picture settings which really allow you to customize the picture to your liking. The only thing I don't care for is the (dumb) remote that comes with the TV. However we have a Vizio android tablet remote that came with our old TV, and we are able to use it with this TV too with no problem!

I was looking to upgrade from my TCL 4 series, and read great reviews about the picture quality of the Vizio M-Series. After purchasing it, I can attest that the picture is amazing. What killed this product for me though, was the user interface. At least compared to the Roku TV interface, it's clunky and can't be customized, to the point where you can't even add new channels to the smart TV (for things like HBO, you have to chromecast from another device, which is fine for some people, but I find cumbersome). I'm giving 4 stars because the picture quality really is fantastic, but for me I just couldn't get past the user interface, and wound up going with the TCL Series 6 instead.

The picture on this model is incredible for the price and it comes with chromecast which is a great feature. I bought this for my father who is 75 and even he can use chromecast it is so easy. My own personal TV is a 2016 P-Series which is also a highly desired TV for price of picture quality and I think this TV's picture looks just as good and is even cheaper!

First the positives: It's a beautiful TV. The picture and sound are great and setting it up with other devices was simple. I have no complaints about the hardware. This should be a five star review. Here's the problem. The TV comes with Vizio SmartCast software which includes a TON of free content. Hooray! Except a large amount of the content is mature. Graphic violence, sex, language, and nudity is being streamed into my home (it's not just network TV stuff). I've contacted Vizio and they offer no way to block, hide, or delete any of the apps on their SmartCast platform. If you buy a Vizio TV you are buying unfiltered streaming content. They insist that they are not responsible for the content of the apps, but don't take responsibility for putting the apps on the TV and don't offer a way to block them. They offered two solutions: 1) Contact all of the streaming apps and ask each of them to put parental controls on each of their apps (many of them do not require you to sign in to access their content). 2) Disconnect the WiFi from the TV and re-input the WiFi password every time I want to stream or cast something to the TV (not really a workable solution).

This TV was definitely an upgrade from my 4k TCL. First....all 4k TVs aren't equal. This TV showed me that..the colors are AMAZING but a word of advice...to appreciate the TV, u need a 4k device like the Playstation Plus or Fire TV Cube. Negatives? Cosmetic ones 1. Location of some hmdi n coaxial port...under the bottom is inconvenient. 2. No TV guide for regular TV? 3. UI should make it easier to switch sources. What was cool was as soon as I plugged my soundboard, ps4, and firecube, the TV AUTOMATICALLY sensed it. Overall...very nice tv.. The M series comes in 4 models btw...8 is the highest. Get the 8.

I needed a decent TV for my teenage son's bedroom. Basically, for watching movies, sports and for gaming. My personal preference is to spend a little more for a better picture and performance but not pay a super premium for the top of the line. This TV performs very well for the price point. It's not quite up to par with my more expensive Samsung in the living room (KS8000) but it's very close. It's also much better than the budget models that are a couple hundred less. Motion handling is very good and the TV gets bright. Also does well in a dark room. I like having the VizioTV channels that come free as there are some good movies on there. The only downside is that the apps are limited so you have to use smart cast for some things like SlingTV. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.
