This was a gift purchase. I actually saw it up and running on Christmas day. I was very impressed with the picture quality. Here is an excerpt of the text I got from the recipient after he set it up: "This thing is awesome the picture is really unbelievable." I was glad that the price was reasonable. I'm thinking about getting one for myself, as well.

Great Picture. Poor Tuner

I have a 9 year old Vizio along with two others Vizio TVs. I'm not brand loyal but I've had good luck with them. For the price they are great televisions. I loved the picture but when I was checking the signal strength on my NBC station which is a low-vhf station, it was reading between 10 and 20. I was getting some pixelation on that station. Now on the other Vizio televisions, I would get 100 on the signal strength. Even an old Toshiba was showing 50. I have a 2018 32 inch Vizio with tuner model Si2151 and that also showed 100 on the strength. This TV had tuner Si2159. I couldn't believe the different tuner would make a difference. I returned and downgraded to the V series and checked the tuner model before buying. It had the Si2151 model so I figured it would give me a good signal strength. It was 100 so even though that TV doesn't pop with the picture, it was a tradeoff I was willing to make. Be careful of which TV you buy if you use an antenna. If you do not use an antenna, this TV would be a good purchase.

Can not say enough how much i love this tv , it has all the best features at an amazing price , picture quality is great in 4k and 1080p the calibrated presets are actually good with minimal adjustments, local dimming is awesome the only downside is the smart tv interface but not enough to take a star away just get a firestick.

Horizontal Lines Appearing after 2 years.

I have had the tv for a little less than 2.5 years and random horizontal lines have started to appear. None of the quick fixes have worked and now I am forced to have to take it apart myself and try to fix the TCOM board or do the ribbon trick. Vizio support is some of the worst in the industry and were completely unhelpful.

I finally upgraded from a TV that I've had since 2011 and I didn't want to break the bank. The specs on the Vizio M-Series are great with a price tag under $600. I could've gone with a display that was slightly better but I wanted a soundbar as well so I feel really good about my purchase. The pictures quality is great and I would highly recommend.

Great, but a little glitchy.

As great as the picture is, it can be very glitchy. I have to reset my TV somewhat often. It will be on, but show a black screen. I can press menu, and the menu will pop up and I can do a reset. However, at first it didn’t have the reset option and I had to unplug it for 10 seconds. It took a month or two for the reset option to show up.
I only have issues with the smart TV option, though. Not when I’m using a device plugged into the TV.

Setting up this TV was a breeze. Everything worked perfectly right out of the box.
I don't use Vizio's SmartCast, so I can't comment on that.
I have two flatscreens. One is plasma and the Vizio is LCD. The Vizio picture is detailed an pleasant to look at. It doesn't lack the superior contrast and intensity of the plasma screen.

Purchased to replace older (2012) 55 inch VIZIO TV that died of old age!! Old VIZIO was great but this one is even better...strong deep colors, great picture and easy to set up.. Excellent value compared to other more expensive TV's. Had it delivered by Best Buy and they removed my old TV... Completely satisfied with TV and delivery!!

I’ve had my Vizio 55” M-Series for 2 months now. The picture is vivid and crisp. Set up was a breeze and connecting to apps was simple. I’m new to chrome cast but a huge fan especially since the TV doesn’t yet have Disney plus built in. We had no issue connecting our sound bar, x box and cable box. Really satisfied.

Easy setup, picture quality is phenomenal, black levels really impressive for this version of vizio tv nothing really to complain about for this tv other than the sound which you can always get a sound bar I’ve got the 5.1.4 from vizio and it makes a world of difference watching movies, tv shows and listening to music.

This is a wonderful TV. I am not a gamer so my comments are strickly for people who are TV viewers. It took a bit of time to learn all the features. I would recommend that you download the online owners manual. It is an easy to navigate menu for the TV settings for picture quality. I am not a techy person and I was easily able to figure out how to change the settings. I like the sound quality, we have a large room and the sound bounces off the wall. I did have to disable the CEC in order for our cable box to work with the unit. For now we are very happy with our purchase.

Picture Quality is Great. Tons of Free Channels!

This was our first big TV upgrade in years. I did my research and found the M-series was a great buy for the price. The picture quality is great, and the amount of built-in channels and streaming service apps included is amazing; which means less for us having to switch between our Chromecast, Gaming Console, and Dish DVR to watch shows from our various streaming services we subscribe to. It's pretty much all built in! The free channels from Pluto are good as well.
We did find we had to adjust some settings as the TV kept turning on by itself. We found it was our DVR, consoles, etc. updating. But changing the TV to Eco Mode and turning off CEC solved that. Modern technology...
The sound, like most larger flat screen TV's leaves a little to be desired. We do output audio through our stereo system for movies as the bass and depth of the sound is sometimes not there if we're just using the TV speakers only.
The only 'wish' is that the remote was back-lit and slightly larger. But that is a minor annoyance.
Overall, very happy with my purchase.

Picture is very good. Color is great. The tv freezes often. Sometimes I turn on my tv with the remote and there is no picture on the screen even though the power light goes on. Try to change between apps and nothing happens at times as if I am using a remote with no batteries in it.
I would recommend this tv if the problems were fixed.

This is an awesome tv. Easy set up. Picks up double the antenna stations of our Sony. Picture is excellent. Very easy to switch between Sling, Netflix, Amazon and Hulu. I am very pleased with this. This was my first Vizio purchase have had Sony and Samsung so far. Would definitely purchase this one again.
