This Should Be A Recalled Model

Bought this in March 2022. The TV malfunctioned around Feb 2023. Been reading other peoples reviews here and i am getting the same exact thing. The TV looked great when i first got it. Then a few months later i noticed the TV started acting weird. It would start popping up lines across the screen for a moment, then i would turn it off and on, and it goes away. By the end of the year of 2022, the TV started doing it more and much bigger in the lines on the screen but again can turn it off and then on and its gone but a new TV shouldnt be doing this at all. Then the nail in the coffin hit in Feb 2023 when i was using the one night and it was fine. Then the next day the lines were back and full on. The lines wouldnt go away, i did a factory reset. I couldnt even see the menu on the screen to do it. I had to do it with the remote, and on the physical TV. The reset didnt work, and i called VIZIO and they said they looked into getting it repaired at first but then the next call i made they told me they cancelled it. They never called me to tell me that they did, i actually had to call to find out. Sitting at home thinking something is getting resolved. The lady told me i was qualified for a refund. They said the TV was not worth fixing as finding out it may be common the TV to just burn out. I wouldnt be surprised i wasnt the first person to call about the TV. Whatever that runs the SMART TV function is whats malfunctioning. I was able by a miracle to get it to run floor display mode and the animations, and video playing and it fixed itself but then it would burn an image into the malfunctioned area across the screen. As i was waiting for the refund, i had to call to find out if it was on the way. I waited almost a month, 22 days for the check and nothing. The lady said it wasnt mailed out and sent an urgent notice to the department who was issuing the refund. I got the check in a week. I did get my money back so i have it but this TV should be a recall because the TV easily malfunctions after a year, two years tops. I did notice when i was removing the TV off of my computer desk, as i use it for a computer monitor, I noticed the bottom right of the inside of the bevel, frame of the TV, there was a dent of some sort. I was like, what is this? When did this happen? I never dropped anything what so ever on the TV or even unboxing it. Some how whoever was assembling the TV into the box may have dropped something on it and landed on the inside of the lip of the frame and did a small dent. This could be the culprit but then again, it was working fine for the first year. I advice anyone looking for a TV to avoid this one as this TV should be a recall but they never did it and never announced it. VIZIO is a good brand but you wont know if its a recall worthy TV or not till you try it. Avoid this model type. Dont buy it. If you do, buy the warranty. The picture looked great like i mentioned but started causing problems the moment i got it. You will see a good rating in the Picture, Sound and Brightness but the functionality was horrible. So dont let the Quality ratings fool you. Its great picture, just bad hardware on this model.

I purchased this TV in February of 2022. It's now December of 2023 and my LCD is failing. This was not due to any kind of impact. This TV is mounted on the wall and powered via a 1500va sinewave UPS. The Vizio I had before this was going on 5 years and only had to be replaced because of water damage. I am displeased with this experience. A 500 to 600 purchase should last longer than this, warranties aside. I've attached an example image of a full blue screen so the issue is visible.

We started getting vertical lines along the bottom of the screen. They went away for a couple weeks but came back and stayed there for a few weeks now. The lines went away one morning for about 20 mins then came back double the size. Luckily I bought a 5 year plan with the TV. This seems to be a common problem not with just Visio. Sometimes there's an easy fix but I've tried all of those with no luck. Before this happened the TV looked great... Especially great for PS5 games.

Bought this tv about 4 months ago. The operating software was slow to begin with but the tv was cheap for the picture quality at the time. The screen got a couple lines through it a week or 2 ago, now the almost entire screen is stuck and looks shattered. Would not recommend.

Well, I probably should have done something when the TV was glitching in the first year. It would freeze and I would have to unplug it and this would fix the problem. So as of about three days ago, the picture started to go out and now it is completely out. I wasted hours upon hours trying to troubleshoot it. Restoring it to factory settings, leaving it unplugged for hours. It seems that I am not alone with this TV being a piece of junk. As I see the reviews and pictures, it looks like a lot of people are having the same problem , I went out and spent good money on this TV and even bought the fancy Vizio sound bar and subwoofer to go with it. Now after a little less than two years, I have a big rectangular black rock. I have never had a TV die on me this fast. Vizio TVs used to be quality. I don’t know if this is just a bad model, but if that were the case, they should have recalled it.

Really wish we would’ve read reviews before buying in store. Less than 2 years later and we’re having display issues. The content is playing in the background but the screen has a pinkish white box over it. Super annoyed that it’s our master bedroom TV and the only TV we currently have in the home. Definitely won’t be purchasing anymore Vizio TVs.

Best Buy delivered as scheduled, as usual. Installation and startup went very well (we did our own installation). The startup worked very well by following Vizio’s instructions exactly. Interface with the WiFi was successful on the first try. I had to make some adjustment to the picture default settings to get a picture that we liked and quite a few modification to the audio to get to a point that low volume vocal was clear enough to understand.

The picture and sound quality are very good. However, the picture, which can be unusually vivid, depending on the setting you choose, is washed out when viewed from a sharp side angle. My only gripes in the first few weeks are that the onscreen menu for making the optional adjustments is a little hard to follow (no printed instruction manual is included), and the remote controller does not have a number pad for easy channel selection. The photo I have included is of the TV operating with an interior antenna and on less than preprogrammed color saturation.

Seemed to work great but became defective within a year. I bought my unit in Dec 2021 and now in summer of 2022 the screen has begun flashing pink streaks. This issue is common enough for Vizio that there are troubleshooting guides online and the tech support agents will ask you specifically if that's why you're calling. I read a ton of reviews on this TV before buying but none mentioned this concern. Thankfully my unit is under manufacturer warranty but that only lasts for 12 months and even still I'll have to wait at least 2 to 3 weeks before I'll have a tv again, despite dropping hundreds on this one. Even if the replacement is flawless, I wouldn't risk buying Vizio again.

Like a number of other buyers, we too had an issue with the lower and upper part of the picture working but everything in between locking up. Vizio service has been ok and has offered a couple of solutions to replace etc... The hassle of not having a working TV and then waiting for the replacement is just too long. One of two options would take almost two months to correct. The simple option of returning it to a store and picking up a replacement seems to be outside of company allowance. Just ticked now...

Lasted just beyond the 1 year warranty, then developed rows of dead/inverted pixels extending from the top right edge of the screen. Disappointed to see so many similar stories in the reviews here. Vizio was my go-to brand for TVs, but they wont even be a consideration going forward.
