What's expected from Vizio is here.

Vizio is one of the newer makers of TV's, Google it, even Hisense, TCL & Insignia are older, whereas Vizio came on scene in 2002. So by comparison their still among the newer brands. However with a good 20 years under their belts we can safely judge them and know what to (mostly) expect from them. Overall I put Vizio above the 3 brands I listed above (Hisense, TCL & Insignia) but also only marginally so. Probably on about the same level as a Philip's or Toshiba. Which is what I'd call mid tier. While Hisense, TCL & Insignia are bottom tier. Meanwhile I think most would agree that Samsung, LG & Sony are top tier. All other brands can be measured against these brands to see where they fall. But back to Vizio and this specific TV. So again by now we realistically know what to expect from them, the good and the bad. The good is that they offer very competitive picture quality and tend to last as long as a top tier brand. The bad is sketchy smart features that are the definition of hit or miss and a lack of physical durability. Ok, no TV this day and age is really very physically durable. Screens crack all of the time due to a kids toy or a wild pet. That's not what I mean by a lack of being physically durable. It's that super extra caution & care is needed here even if you should one day wish to relocate this (or any Vizio TV) to a new spot in your home. They tend to be fine when left in place, but move them and you'll see just how frail they are in a physical manner of speaking. Of course taking responsibility is key here, but if you're not already aware of this and handle it the same as say an LG TV you may just find yourself wondering what went wrong. Also in terms of physically durable is their legs. On their TV's 43 inches and smaller you'll be perfectly fine, but somehow they didn't upgrade them enough for their larger models. That's actually what is most likely to break when relocated or moved. It's happened to a few friends and family members of mine. They didn't think nothing of it because it was just a small crack and usually only in one leg, not to mention their not exactly replaceable either. However soon thereafter the leg through small nudges and bumps over time led to the leg(s) completely breaking and the TV itself then crashed and well, you can imagine the mess that follows. I suppose a redeeming quality here is that there's no guarantees that this will happen to yours and I sincerely hope it doesn't, but that I've seen this issue occur, numerous times at that, speaks volumes to me about a pretty big aspect of them. So the picture quality is great? So what if it crashes due to poor quality legs! None of the actual TV matters in such situations. Here's another thing, other brands I've observed, both top tier and bottom tier, simply don't have crap legs, only Vizio. Get it, but definitely wall mount it. Keep it as simple as that.

This tv has everything that we need. The one before we would go to the bedroom and watch tv but this has a excellent picture and sounds great. Now we are in the living room until late watching this one and at a very good price. we drove an hour away to pick it up and when they brought it out it wouldnt fit in the car. The gentleman said well we will just set it up for delivery . I said how much will that cost us and he said all your tv is bigger than 50in. so it's free come over here and we will take care of everything. That is how Best Buy got there name they are the BEST.

    DO NOT GET A VIZIO

As others explained, the tv started to show pixels, with a variation of a white and black screen. I wouldn't be bothered too much if Vizio wanted to rectify the issue but was told by them nothing can be done. This happened two years exactly from date of purchase. Vizio's website for warranty information is also conveniently down. SAVE YOUR TIME AND GET AN LG!!! Our LG lasted years, my son accidentally broke it.

One of the WORST TVs I have ever owned

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Purchased this TV from Best Buy on sale and after only a year and a half, lines appeared in the lower corner of the TV. Also randomly the entire screen will start to look like a waterfall and everything will start to streak. After unplugging it for a bit and plugging back in, it seems to temporarily fix it (has happened almost a dozen times). If I had known how bad the picture quality is on the TV, I never would have purchased it. My last TV was a 48” 1080P Vizio that lasted almost a decade so was pretty surprised at the “amount of features” you get with the new TV that didn’t amount to much. The TV only has a max brightness of 100-200 nits!!! Terrible. The blacks are grey, and any dark scenes look very pixelated regardless of the quality of the content being viewed. HDR is a complete joke. I will never buy a Vizio branded TV again. They have lost me as a consumer due to the cheap quality of materials that they use to make their TV’s. I was expecting this TV to last me a good while at least, when one day out of the blue, horrendous lines appeared in the lower corner of the screen. Tried all troubleshooting steps and it turns out that the issue is hardware not software related. Even reset the TV to factory settings multiple times! Such a pain! Last thing I wanted to do was have to buy another new TV… Ordered a new QLED TV from a better company rated at 600+ nits because I am done dealing with this stuff. Spend the extra money and save a mountain of headaches later. Don’t make the same mistake I made by buying a VIZIO. They are nowhere near the quality that they used to be 10 years ago.
