I need to have it on my phone and cast it to the TV. So far it looks like I need to have the app up on my phone or it times out on the tv. I had to call 3 times before I got some one that made sense on how to get the app up on the tv.

Posted .Hi Randy! The SmartCast Mobile App is designed to be used as a secondary remote and to help discover content you already watch or might interest you. To cast different apps to our TV's you are not required to use the SmartCast Mobile App but can cast them directly from your smartphone or tablet with any of the thousands of Chromecast enabled applications.
