    HDMI Issues

This set appears to have an issue with its HDMI ports when sending a 4K HDR signal. I purchased the P65 model twice and they both had the same issue on the 1st port. When you enable the UHD feature the TV goes black and you get an error that there's no signal. I tried multiple cables including a very expensive fiber HDMI cable and it did not work. This TV has an excellent picture but I can't recommend it if you want to use the HDR functionality for gaming in 4K.

Hello Bigmixx, if you are using HDMI 5 on this unit it will not support 4K HDR gaming as this port is designed to offer a low input lag connection. However, HDMI 1 thru 4 are designed to be used for 4K HDR. If you are having an issue with this functionality not working please give our customer service a call at 877-878-4946. VIZIO

Great picture but the the HDMI problems ruined an otherwise great TV. Could not enable the 4K HDR mode with my PS4 Pro as it would cause the picture to go black and lose the signal. This happened on ports 1-4. Tried different cables but did not help. Returned the TV and will look at a different band.

Out of the box, there were horizontal lines running through the screen, returned it to Best Buy, and exchanged for the same model. The new one would randomly not detect the HDMI signal when switching inputs, returned for full refund. Do your research, this model has all sorts of problems. Beautiful picture for the price, if it worked.

I have tried 2 of these from Best buy both suffer from horrible software/hardware issues relating to HDMI and CEC. If HDMI CEC is enabled in settings the TV will often freeze and crash durring input switching. It's sad really because picture quality is really great especially for the price... However these issues are to great for me to recommend this tv. I will most likely be making a second return and choosing a different tv. .

Great quality TV for the price, and top rated by Rtings.com. The picture quality for 4k HDR gaming is especially nice. Be warned however, that one or two HDMI ports may not function with UHD setting turned on for that output if you are trying to output your PS4 Pro or Xbox X in 4K HDR with RGB setting. Went through two TV's from Best Buy and each had the same problem. Finally just called Vizio, and they sent a couple contracted repair people out who replaced the mother board. It appears to be working now fine now. I'd say still worth the effort for a great TV for the price. Seems this Input issue is fairly widespread with this batch of TVs. Vizio is likely working on it.

Experienced boot loop out of box

I was very excited to get the P65 set up after watching all the positive reviews. I set up the tv and went through the initial set up. First the tv refused to connect to wifi. I briefly got picture and sound and the tv went in to a continuous loop where it would power off, power on, the "V" logo would appear and power off. I tried 5 different HDMI cables in each HDMI port with out success. I also noticed I couldn't access the menu or input functions from either the remote or tv. I contacted Vizio support and the tech and after running through their troubleshooting menu, they decided the tv was defective and wanted to schedule a repair. I declined and told them I would be returning the tv the next day. I'm going to settle for a tv that's in stock as I waited a week for the Vizio and have no desire to wait again.

The overall picture quality is excellent, colors are bright and vibrant, the blacks are deep and dark. It really is a great looking TV! I have connected a Visio Soundbar SB3651-E6 to my Visio P65 and have been having issues with sound dropping out when switching inputs and then the TV stops responding (freezes) and I have to unplug the TV, hold the power button in for 10 seconds then plug it back in then it returns to normal. I have connected HDMI ARC out on the Soundbar to the TV's #1 HDMI input then I connected my Frontier FIOS Video Server to HDMI in on the Soundbar. I also have my computer plugged into HDMI #2 and Amazon's Fire Stick plugged into HDMI #4. The problem starts when switching inputs between devices, the picture always remains on but the sound stops working and I have to reset the soundbar by unplugging the power cable from the soundbar then press and hold the power button for 10 seconds (that resets it) plug the power cable back in turn it back on then it starts working OK again. I have it setup this way because when I tell Alexa (yes I also have Alexa connected) to turn on or off the TV both the TV and Soundbar respond respectively, that's because it's using ARC. If I use Optical in from the TV to the Soundbar I can remove both HDMI cables from the Soundbar and plug my Frontier box directly into HDMI #1 , The problem with this connection scenario is that you have to increase the volume almost double then when it's connected thru HDMI and turning the TV and Soundbar on or off together using Alexa will not work! , only the TV shuts off, the Soundbar remains on until you shut it off with the remote or use the power button directly on the Soundbar. When it's working the sound is incredible, much better than using the internal speakers, surround sound is great. Connecting the soundbar, subwoofer and rear speakers was very easy too.

I bout this TV while comparing to the Q7fn and this TV looked significantly better than the Q66 deeper colors and brightness was great. I so wanted to keep this TV it was beautiful. The OS on this TV is not the best can have it slow downs Apps on the TV can start slow and no store to download more apps then what it comes with. Has chrome cast which was great... Q7fn has a better OS and it more responsive. . So for gaming quality this TV was Excellent! But HDMI 1 stop working with hdr settings which was my biggest reason for returning. . Got it again and worked great but then while gaming it gotten colored lines across the screen and froze and rebooted twice. . Returned and that's all she wrote.... I'm gonna get the p series, quantum if it fails me I'm never gonna give Vizio another chance. But I do recommend if the tv doesn't fail to work... Excellent picture quality for gaming.

Hello Dalot, we are continually evaluating applications to add to the SmartCast input. In the meantime you can cast any of the thousands of Chromecast enabled application from a mobile device that is connected to the same network as your TV. If you still have the unit please give our customer service a call at 877-878-4946 so that we can assist you with your picture issue. VIZIO
