I was initially impressed by this TV after seeing the Rtings score on it. It was practically the same as the Sony Bravia 900F. I got this Vizio since it was about 2/3 the price of the Sony. When I got the TV, it worked flawlessly and had an amazing beautiful screen.
However, these last few days, about 3 weeks from the purchase, it started having a ton of issues. It started off with the TV taking a lot longer than usual to boot. Then it would shut off by itself when watching something. It got to the point where it would freeze often and no longer turn back on for several minutes after it would shut off.
Power cycling the TV didn't work nor did any of the setting adjustments that were recommended to try out. After doing the factory reset, the TV started continuing with these issues and also randomly would turn itself back on every couple of hours. It also started having some purple and green static distortion every time it would freeze and shut off (see attached photo). Today, the TV no longer turns on properly. If I turn it on, it will shut off in 10-15 minutes and takes around an hour or two to turn back on.
Honestly, for paying almost a grand on this TV, I'm getting such poor quality. I'm sending this TV back tomorrow and I don't think I will ever purchase a Vizio TV again in my life.

The first TV I got from BestBuy worked great for about 8 months. Then the screen would just cut out. Sound would be on just not picture. I would need to unplug to get the picture back, but then that evolved into the picture being really dark with four bright spots. Vizio replaced it fairly easily which was great, but now the replacement model just starts to flash white and black randomly and the only way to fix it is to power cycle.
It’s getting really annoying that I bought a TV that will need to be replaced for the second time in a year. My last TV was an LG that I never had a problem with, I just wanted to go bigger. I don’t think I’ll buy a Vizio ever again.

When I bought this tv I had an issue where the screen would not come on it kept cycling the boot screen. It took a month waiting for a part that never came for the tv to be repaired through the Best Buy geek squad warranty. It was replaced instead. Now the backlights are out in multiple reactions of this new replacement after nearly 9 months.

I had been looking at replacing our Living room TV for about a year.
Since the TV is in the Living room I wanted one that looked good, had a great picture, was stuffed with features, and wasnt going to cost a lot.
To be honest I dont care about brands...I have an old VIZIO B series in a spare bedroom, the kids rooms all have LGs, and a Samsung in the master bedroom.
That said, I did still buy the 2yr warranty as well (but I would have done it on any TV).
None of them ever have given me an issue.
That means I spent a YEAR researching TVs, reading reviews, wandering stores staring at displays, etc.
Then the sound card in my old TV died (no soundbar, no TV speakers etc) and after about a Month of no sound my wife decided either I stop looking around and buy one or she would (she was all for the new LG OLED).
Luckily the 2018 VIZIO P Series had just come out. It met all my criteria and so I went to see it in person. It was next to LG OLEDS, SONY 900F, and every other possible type of screen and it still looked extremely good.
As good as the OLEDs that cost over 3x as much? No. But close.
After a few weeks, I still am happy with it. The VIZIO Smartcast has most apps, you can cast to it and the screen is very bright and the 100 local dimming zones create a great picture during dark scenes.
Throw in native 120hz, FALD, direct backlighting (not Edge lighting) and 5 HDMI ports and it is probably the best deal for a TV I have seen.
It was pretty easy to wall mount as well. Like any TV this size its unwieldy when you have to lift it onto the mount, but I had my son grab one side and it went up easy enough.
Yes, I did look at the TCL6...for the $100 more the VIZIO is the much better choice.

I'll admit that I'm an OLED TV snob - you can't beat it for colors that pop and deep, inky blacks. That said, OLED TVs are kinda pricey and not for everyone.
This Vizio LED TV isn't quite as good as OLED, but it really does have a great picture for the price difference. The discrete backlit zones work well in the areas that are off, but there is still a bit of light bleed for areas that are on. For example, when the TV boots up, there is a Vizio logo on a black screen. The area immediately around the logo is kinda gray but the rest of the screen is nice and black.
The on-screen menus are really nice and easy to use. The built-in casting and streaming options also make attaching an AppleTV or Roku kinda unnecessary.
My only small complaint is that the provided remote control's button labels are difficult to read in low light conditions. They are not backlit and the text is just a bit more difficult to read than it could be. Of course, you can use the phone app to control the TV instead, or even your voice, so this is really a minor complaint.
While this TV isn't incredibly thin (like some OLED models), it's about average. But the bezels are thin and the TV really looks sharp from the front even when off.
This TV is a great value for the features, picture quality and overall design.

This TV has an awesome display. The P-series from Vizio really puts them up there with their higher-end competitors at a much better price point. At this price-point it's a no-brainer versus buying an OLED or something. I would love to eventually get one of the newer Quantum P-Series TVs though.
The HDR is awesome, deepest blacks I've seen on a non-OLED TV. The local dimming works very well, and you really feel that contrast between bright and dark areas, it's stunning. We did have an issue a while back where deep blacks on some shows looked kinda purple, but that seems to have been fixed from software updates.
For gaming, it's amazing. Input lag is not bad at all on gaming mode, and HDMI Input 5 (No HDR on this input) (yes there are 5 HDMI ports, amazing) has even less input lag, perfect for a Nintendo Switch. Xbox games look beautiful in 4K HDR on this TV. I definitely recommend doing some fine tuning though, as the default settings aren't the best out of the box, but that's expected with almost any TV.
You can also play/watch 1080p content at 120Hz on this TV, which is awesome! If you prefer a lower resolution and higher framerate in games like Call of Duty Warzone on Xbox Series X (which runs at 120fps) then you'll love this.
Overall best value out there that I know of for features and performance at this price point. I was frequently checking RTINGS and they rated it very well. I'm glad I went with this TV!

I bought this TV because it had decent reviews on RTINGS.com and digitaltrends.com because of contrast and its deep black levels. However there is no black level just all gray. Only black shows when seeing pictures of the movie in the TV apps. Bright images are also very hazy. Very slow to update and inputs didnt work right away. Im thinking the TV has to be defective. I'll be exchanging the TV but NOT for another Vizio. Truly disappointed.

Hello VideoGuy, Thank you for the feedback. A few things that might help you get the kind of picture quality you are looking for. First, make sure the Display is getting a hi-definition or 4K signal. This means making sure that you're source device (like a cable/satellite box) is capable of HD or 4K, and that it's connected to your Display with an HDMI cable that can deliver the HD or 4K picture. You can also change between pre-set picture modes on the display by pressing the PIC button on your remote. This will toggle between a few picture setting that look good in different situations. If your display is in a bright room try Vivid or Calibrated. If it’s in a dimmer room try Calibrated Dark.

High End Features and Picture for Less Money

I have two other Vizio TVs in my bedrooms (E and D series) and thought they had a very good picture. So when I needed a large TV in my basement, I added Vizio to the list of TVs I would consider. I'm glad I did. I also considered the LG SK9000, Samsung NU8000 and Q6F, and the Sony X900F. I have an X900E in my living room and it's a fantastic TV but the 'F' is way too expensive at this point in time for what you get.
That left the LG and the Samsungs along with Vizio. The LG had good color but the blacks were horrible. They looked gray and I read about horrible 'flashlighting' and 'banding' where there are halos around light objects on a dark background. No thanks. Too distracting. The Samsungs both had very good pictures but they were both edge-lit TVs (inferior tech to full-array backlighting) and don't support Dolby Vision HDR which is on many 4K Blu-Rays. And they were hundreds more.
That brought me back to the Vizio. Full-array backlighting meant great contrast. Over a billion colors. Low input lag for gaming. Very bright colors, bright whites, deep blacks mean it looks great for HDR viewing and gaming. And the TV itself is very stylish and attractive in a room. I coupled it with a Vizio sound bar and it looks and sounds fantastic. Playing on the Xbox One X and PS4 are a real treat now. And 4K Blu-Rays look fantastic too.
If you're looking for a great TV for HDR/4K gaming and Blu-Rays, take my advice and add this Vizio to the list. Why pay hundreds more when you can get a picture as good as if not better than the other companies and even get more features than some.

I have recently purchased the 65 version of the TV. the picture quality is stunning. it will give you a true 4k HDR viewing experience with the paired high brightness and local dimming zones. probably secondly only to this OLED panels. it has 5 HDMI inputs 4 UHD and one 1080p low latency ports. no other TV will give you 5 HDMI ports. But this TV is not perfect, the OS is very sluggish, especially when switching inputs it takes a relatively longer time compared to my LG 4k tv, sometimes it takes too long and even crashes, make sure you update the firmware. 2nd day after my purchase I noticed a red dead pixel around the top left corner of the display, which I try not to notice (really annoying when you know its there). Due to the fact that this TV is huge and heavy, I decided not to get it exchanged. Another thing, if you have a PS4 pro, you may experience flashing black screen. this happens if you set your PS4 HDR to 2160p RGB. it must be set to 2160P YUV, hopeful vizio or Sony would fix this problem.

I wanted a 4K TV that had both HDR10 and Dolby Vision, the Vizio P65-F1 fits the bill. It also offers full panel local dimming, a feature typically available only on high end TVs. I seriously considered some of the OLED TVs that were three times the price of this on it's Black Friday sale price. For me, it boiled down to having a TV that is 90-95% as good as the ultra high end models for one third the price. No brainer in making that decision. That said, the picture is excellent out of the box, there are several preset picture modes available, and the option to save your own custom setting. The TV really shines with HDR10 and Dolby Vision content. The 100 zone local dimming affords near perfect blacks and the TV is quite bright. A real perfectionist would find things to complain about on this TV, but I've noticed they also seem to find things to complain about on the high end models as well. Bottom line, if you want a great picture for several uses - Movies, Sports, Gaming, regular viewing - this TV will offer an excellent picture for a bargain price.
The built in sound is sorely lacking, so plan on investing in a sound bar system or an external AV surround system. Enjoy!

This 4k HDR TV is an absolute steal for the price. After reading reviews from various websites, including Rtings.com, I bought this one on sale for under a grand. The TV has stunning definition, a clear/bright picture and great color & dark management. The fact that is compatible with HDR 10 and Dolby Vision was a plus for me as well. Built-in Chromecast is awesome, making it easy to stream from your phone or tablet.
I purchased the TV in mid-November 2018 and it has the latest firmware updates. Some reviewers have complained about bugs & crashes with earlier firmware/software releases, but my Vizio 65" 4K TV has been stable with no crashes or glitches from the first time I used it. Other reviews have mentioned that the SmartCast OS is slow to load, but my experience is just the opposite -- this TV has the fastest apps of any smart TV I have ever owned (Samsung, Sony, Sharp, etc.). Netflix and Youtube load almost instantly and moving around the SmartCast screen is very fast and easy.
The Vizio does suffer from some flaws, however. The corners are darker than the screen overall. There is some banding visible when the screen goes to an all-white background or 5/10% gray screen. This can be minimized with adjustments to the brightness and backlighting. Given how seldom these conditions are displayed during a TV show or movie, they are not an issue. Any LED TV with full-array backlighting will have some issues with banding. What's more important is that there is very little bleed around bright objects against a dark background. And the blacks are outstanding! Outside of an OLED, you would be hard-pressed to find better contrast, color and saturated blacks in a TV display. With very few flaws and an overall great picture, this Vizio 65" 4K UHD television is an amazing value.

This is an excellent tv for the value! Picture quality is amazing! It looked great in the store, but it looks even better when fed high quality content. The colors are rich and vibrant. I love the amount of HDMI inputs it has. The tv was easy to setup and easy to connect with our JBL soundbar. The Vizio interface is easy to use, has lots of apps, and integrates well with Google Assistant. If you're looking for a 65", you cannot get a better tv for the value.

I didn’t want an OLED based TV because of the slow transitions when there is a moving picture so I got this TV. It is my first Vizio and it is just as good as another 4K TV i purchased for double it’s price. The refresh rate is very fast just like in-depth reviews online have stated. I love that the brightness and backlight controls are easily adjustable even to low levels. I have this in a dark room and unlike other TV’s I was able to get a colorful and well contrasted picture without the backlighting hurting my eyes.
The only two things which I think could be improved upon is that the number of apps is limits and the TV relies on you casting things to it using your mobile app, and the speakers are pretty awful but I wasn’t expecting anything on an LCD to sound good in the first place. In fact, it’s so bad that even a sound bar may be a substantial upgrade (and I would never purchase a sound bar in my life)

Vizio P65-F1 - Best bang for the buck

This 4K Television is absolutely the best for the money. It has many local dimming areas, 16 billion colors, and to me is as close to an OLED TV that you will get without breaking the bank. I am somewhat sad that there isn't any buttons on the TV itself, but from what I am seeing they are all going that way. The led that is on the bottom left is somewhat dim and just comes on shortly when you turn on the set. I did find it problematic that they put such a short power cord on the set, and the fact that it's on the opposite side of all the connectors made no sense to me. This forced me to use an extension cord to power the set as it would not reach the outlet properly the way I had to route the cord for hiding. This P series is only one step below the top of the line Quantum series with almost all the great specs to make this set really sharp. They had it on sale for 899.99 and I thought that is what I would be paying because that is the price I seen on it when I went shopping for it on Feb. 4th. When I went in to purchase it on Feb. 5th, I found out it just went off of sale and the sales people forgot to pull the price tag. Although I felt they should give me that price, they only came down 60.00 to match tiger direct's price. I should have been able to pay the price I believed it was, but was shafted out of. 5 HDMI connections is another huge plus for this set. I do highly recommend this TV for anyone on a budget that wants the best for the money. This stands out highly among many others and gets extremely good ratings from consumer reports.

I am a huge movie buff and gamer and this is my second 65" tv that I own. I loved my first one it was a budget LG but I loved everything about it. So when it was time to get another one I went back for another budget LG (I have always been a big fan of LG) but I was not pleased with the picture and settings on the LG so I ended up returning it and trying out a Samsung that was highly rated but once again had a bunch of issues with it after trying 4-5 different TV's and having issues with all of them I was talking to the guys at Best Buy and they kept pointing out this Visio. But I kept telling them I'm not a big fan of Visio (personally) but they insisted that the higher end Visio's are incredible, especially for the price and I have to admit the picture in store was pretty darn nice... So I figured I'd give it a shot due to the price range I was trying to stay in... I'm sooo glad I did! It was a little more then I wanted to spend but was worth every penny!! The picture quality is so incredible! The color range is out of this world! Im telling you you will see colors out of this tv with such a richness, you'll think you're seeing them for the first time... Oh and you can go in and change every single color of the rainbow, separately, to your exact preference of brightness or darkness even to shade and saturation... If you want, if you don't want to get that involved the presetts are phenomenal! All the settings and features are perfect! It has worked out for every single preference I have in a tv for every application! I feel like this is a tv that is built to please any and every style of watcher with anywhere from a few tweaks to some serious in-depth tuning. Let me also say I am not a picture snob but alot of the new features on TV's can create issues if they don't function properly so after a long drawn out process of going through "today's" TVs (mind you my last 65" is only 2yrs old) I now realize buget TV's are not what they were even just 2yrs ago. If your not a complete picture snob, they were great in the past but with the new technology that comes standard in every tv now, you need quality parts driving that tech and you are not gonna find that in a buget TV. So if you don't have quality parts driving that tech it will cause issues with the picture or the motion that will look odd to you or drive you up a wall as it did to me. The other problem with budget TV's is that some of these new features, not everyone wants or likes and on budget TV's you often either don't have the option to turn it off or even when you do it is still noticeable. Higher end models do not have these problems as they have better parts which drive them properly... TV's are no longer about just picking a size and brand at the price you want. They're becoming more like buying a computer, what internal parts they have matter greatly! Don't get me wrong if you go with a smaller tv these things don't apply quite as much but 60" and up, you need to focus on the quality of the parts that drive that tv. But if this tv is in your price point and you want to save yourself alot of time and research and you just want the absolute best 65" tv you can buy in this price range, then look no further it doesn't get any better then this tv at this price! So stop looking, you found your tv! This tv gave me everything I wanted and then some and believe it or not, for me, the insanely incredible picture was just the bonus! I would definitely buy this tv again and I would buy Visio again after this experience... Also if you hate TV's with muddy dull pictures then this tv is also the one for you! Im the type of person who usually has contrast up high and brightness and backlighting up all the way, but fight with trying to get it bright enough without washing it out but usually have to sacrifice one or the other brightness, or color and clarity. This tv is incredible in the fact that I can keep my "backlighting" and contrast down low, and my brightness is almost all the way turned down. Which for me is unbelievable. But the picture and color range are so phenomenal mixed together with all the true black features on this tv that it doesn't need to be super bright to have a clear, colorful, crisp, non-muddy picture. Also the black features on this tv are incredible too. You have no idea how much of a difference solid true blacks make to a picture until you experienced it. I actually mess with my friends and family by playing a game of "is the tv on or off" because if I pause something at a moment where it's just a black screen, you can't even tell the tv is on, it is perfectly pitch black. You actually have to turn off all the lights in the house just to see that there is even any light coming from the screen. All around just a great fantastic buy for the price and if you buy the extended warranty (which I did) I don't see any way you could possibly go wrong with this tv! It's 5 stars plus!

I bought this TV at $200 under MSRP. I looked at a lot of tv's and picked out $1,500-$2,000 Sony's, Samsung's and LG's that had the picture I liked with a smooth motion, no jitter. Then I found the Vizio P series in store on sale and was like the bright colors, blacks, brightness, remote, ease of connectivity, and motion rates are as good as the higher end bigger brand name TV's. The only weird issue is that some of the soft tone colors look a little off compared to my plasma but the plasma may have been over exaggerating that tone range... idk. Overall no issues and the smart features have gave us no trouble. Definitely recommend!
