Great tv
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Im very impressed with this unit. There are some local area dimming issues, but very minor and you have to look for them. This tv performs at a level which other brands charge hundreds more for. Im very happy.

One of the best.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the best smart tv’s out there. Bought to augment my 2016 P50C1 that will be moving to the basement. Has all the major streaming apps, plus Google ChromeCast and Apple AirPlay, I expect the continual updates that I got for the last 5 years on my old Vizio to keep it feeling fresh and feature rich.

Great for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far this TV has been great. Has some bugs that Vizio needs to address in future updates but it's nothing serious. Great buy for the money, especially for one of the lower end premium TVs out there.

Hoping for a bigger difference
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Vizio sound bar doesn't link as well as I thought it would. The antenna only picked 20 out of the 80 I had from my Toshiba .... Maybe I need a different antenna solution, but the clarity is substandard.

Great 4K display at a great price!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are many TV manufacturers out there, and VIZIO has always seemed to me to be a middle of the line brand, especially when compared with the big Korean and Japanese brands. With their P-Series Quantum line, they have really stepped up their game! The VIZIO 65" Class P-Series Quantum LED 4K UHD SmartCast TV is replacing a fairly older (9 years old) 60" FHD TV. When we first set it up, we installed the stands while we were waiting to find the time to get it mounted on the wall. The stands have two height settings, with a taller one that can be used if there is a soundbar. A nice little feature is that the top edge of the stand feet has rubber for placing soundbar directly on. In looking at the instructions, another use of the stand is it can also be used to mount a soundbar (when removing the lower feet) when the TV is using a wall-mount (which seems to be a feature only for VIZIO soundbars). When first turning it on, it has a few basic setup actions: selecting location, pair voice remote, connecting to Wi-Fi. Then, it will check, and if necessary, download software updates. This shouldn't take too long, but for me, it went through the download and install process four times (with one time taking a very long time). Overall, it was about 20-30 minutes before it was fully complete. Once finally in, the ScreenCast interface is displayed. It has a couple of "Suggestions" rows at the top, just below the menu. Then, it has a row of all the apps. If going to the left from the first app, it will get to the App Catalog and Customize App Row Selections. A couple of things that I feel that could use some improving are related to these two. For the App Catalog, it does have a quite few category-grouped rows of apps. Then, at the bottom, it has All Apps, but it is only a single row and to get to the desired app, I have to keep scrolling to the right. I would prefer to multiple rows to get to them all. In the Customize App Row (for the row on the Home screen), the most used apps can be moved to the left, but I haven't found a way to hide the ones we won't use (to make it just a little less cluttered). We are a streaming/Over the Air family and had been using a popular brand streaming stick since the native apps on the older TV were quite lacking. Almost all the apps that we use come with the VIZIO TV, and work quite well, but there isn't app for the OTA DVR/streaming box we use, so will still need the streaming stick for it. We could use the built-in Chromecast for that, and while it does work (and the remote will still pause/play the shows), that can be a little cumbersome to get going for each episode. The display is great! The quality of streaming 4K/Dolby Vision movies is very nice! The brightness settings may need to be adjusted from the default (which was very bright for us), but it does have several different brightness setting presets to start with, and can be fine-tuned (and even saved a new profile). Also, one thing I noticed when looking at the descriptions of the different settings, is that the "Enhanced Viewing Angle" (in Advanced Picture settings) might need to be turned off as it says it reduces the horizontal resolution. I'm not sure if that can prevent the full 4K display or not, but I turned it off just in case as we don't need the wide viewing angles. Also, if this going to be used for gaming, it does support AMD FreeSync Premium at 4K/120fps The physical design is pleasant. On the front display, it does not have physical bezel on three sides (top, left and right), and the screen viewing area comes to just less than a .25" of the edge of the glass. There is still a bezel at the button, but it less than 1" wide. The overall thickness of the TV isn't too bad, but definitely not thin (so it won't be an extremely tight fit against the wall when mounted). One positive is that the import/output ports are still easily accessible from the right side when mounted. There are 4 HDMI ports (2x 4K/120MHz "Gaming", one for eARC, and one additional), a 2.0A USB port (which is nice as it can also be used as the power source for streaming sticks that normally need to be plugged into a wall outlet). For Audio output, there is a 3.5mm jack and an Optical connector. Also, there is a typical RJ45 Ethernet port, and a Coax connector. This TV does work seamlessly with our non-VIZIO soundbar using the eARC HDMI connection, with it automatically detecting it when it was first plugged in and does always turn it on and off when the TV is turned on/off. The soundbar volume can be controlled by the TV remote volume buttons. And while we will be using the OTA DVR for watching live local channels, I did see how setting up and using the OTA TV channels worked out. I found that I had to change the input to "TV" first in order to get the scan to start (as the TV Channels option in the Settings Menu was still disabled). After all the channels are detected, the ones not needed can be hidden through the TV Channels Settings Menu. For changing the channel when watching, the up and down buttons on the remote will cycle through but pressing the OK button will bring up a numeric keypad display on the bottom left of the TV to allow direct tuning. If possible to use, I would recommend using the SmartCast Mobile app, and either bringing up the numeric keypad or the virtual remote as that has separately labeled Volume, Channel, and numeric keypad buttons. If you are looking for a really good picture in a decent price range, definitely take a look at this one!

Can't go wrong with Vizio!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the 2nd Vizio TV that I've owned. Although, one of my relatives (family) had one for yearsss. How do I know it? Because I stayed with them for more than 3 years and that's when I fell in love with Vizio. I have had this TV for 5 days now and I wanted to share my feelings on the positives, negatives, and overall traits. I did extensive research on Youtube and Amazon before landing on this one. Here are my thoughts: - PACKAGING: The box has a "pull off top" that allows you to expose the TV while it is standing upright and easily get your hands under it to lift if straight out. There was plenty of styrofoam and the screen and TV overall were clean and devoid of scratches or cracks. - SETUP: The setup for the remote, Smart TV options, etc, was SUPER easy. It did take me some time to establish connection thru Optical cable with my Bose sound bar which was formally connected to my other Vizio TV but ultimately I was able to do it. The setup of Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video was done in minutes. - PERFORMANCE: My second biggest concern with getting a TV was that I've always seen these user interfaces lag. I hate lag, no one likes lag, it makes you feel frustrated. The apps that I saw my friends use on their devices were slow, sometimes taking multiple seconds just to show basic information. The processor in this TV is crazy. I've not only never seen lag, but the TV remembers what you were last doing in apps so you can easily swap between apps. Truly unbelievable they achieve this without lag, this television often feels more like a computer. - USER INTERFACE: I've seen a lot of horrible interfaces. This though this is one of the absolute best. Your dashboard is entirely customizable with apps you want to use. The dashboard is great at showing you content from each app that you want to see without having to dig for it. As an example, the news app shows latest news that's relevant. Or the music app shows your recently played playlists. Amazing. The UI is great, but what is more amazing is that each app has its own well-designed interface. Truly the individual apps for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and others are even better than the companies that made those apps have developed. I would take Vizio's app interfaces over the others any day. So good. - SOUND QUALITY: If you care about sound quality, you're going to always skip the tv speaker and use your own hardware. That's the truth here too, but the default sound quality is above average. Very good lows, highs, and hearing conversations in noisy moments is well done. I'm using the Bose soundbar, so tv speaker quality doesn't bother me at all. - PICTURE QUALITY: I have watched hours of 4K content on Youtube to test the color, dynamic range, etc. It's brilliant! Really blew me away. I would recommend (after making this mistake myself) to not get too wrapped up in all the comparisons and little distractions brought up in various Youtube videos. The reality is this Vizio 4K TV is going to look pretty amazing. The reviewers get down into crazy details that the average person just won't notice. The tv gravitates towards a darker picture. I had no trouble modifying this, and the settings to quickly do this from one moment to another is extremely simple. The 4K video quality is really good, pretty much keeps up with any other 4K video that I have seen in retail stores. Colors have a crisp detail, very bright and lifelike. There is a light sensor that dims the picture automatically, that come in really useful for TV shows. The light dimmer is really good compared to some of my other TVs in that it just turns down the backlight without compromising detail or brightness. Absolutely love it! - REMOTE: The remote kinda sucks. It is very small (a tad bigger than the Amazon Fire TV remote) and has minimal buttons. I've learned to use it just fine, but I really don't understand this dumb concept of "minimalist" TV remotes. There are no numerical buttons. This is not an issue for me because I use my Apple TV remote all the time, so this remote will be sitting on the side for most of the time. If you are using the remote in a dark media room, it's basically impossible to see the buttons. And the remote has no backlite or glow-in-the-dark features. Not a dealbreaker, but terrible nonetheless. - OVERALL: This unit nailed every single thing I was weary of, and over-delivered everywhere else. I would buy this device again in a heartbeat. Keep it up Vizio, you truly are a wonderful manufacturer.
