Customers frequently mention the superb picture quality, vibrant colors, and smooth refresh rate as significant strengths of the 65" Class P-Series Quantum Series LED 4K UHD SmartCast TV. However, some users have reported issues with the HDMI 2.1 ports and SmartCast software needing improvement. Concerns have also been raised regarding the variable refresh rate (VRR) functionality and blooming. The price-to-performance ratio is frequently praised.

The picture on this tv is exquisite. Defiantly the best I have ever had in my house. The TV has a ton of great features, playing my Xbox Series X at 4K 120fps is awesome. The HDR on the TV seems to perform pretty good. My only gripe is the CEC is pretty jacked up. Sometimes the TV doesn’t turn on when I turn on my Apple TV or Xbox, it NEVER shuts off with the other stuff. I have my Apple TV hooked up straight through my Samsung soundbar and my Xbox and PlayStation through the TV. When I try to watch the Apple TV and switch the soundbar from eARC to HDMI 1 the TV keeps sending a command back to switch to eARC. After 4-5 tries I get it working. I’m hoping they fix this in future software updates because aside from the CEC being goofy this is a fantastic set.

I'll keep this short and to the point.
For the money, you will not find a TV with more features (like HDMI 2.1) or a more gorgeous panel. The colors and blacks look great, and HDR gaming and Netflix content look incredible.
It's all ultimately undone by quality control, or lack thereof. My previous TV was a 50" Vizio M Series from 2015, and it's still going strong. However, the new one came with a 1.5 inch scratch/cut deep in the glass. So I exchanged it, which Best Buy was great about. The second TV had a dead pixel. In a premium panel over $1,000 both are unacceptable.
Then we have the other things, like the fact that variable refresh rate doesn't work right now (no FreeSync functionality), or the out of control blooming which oddly enough is 100% missing from store models, but is unmissable once you get home. It seems like it became an issue in a recent firmware update, so maybe there will be a fix down the road? Either way, it's pretty awful and especially visible around subtitles.
That's really it. I want to love this TV, and I've had great experience with Vizio in the past. But between the half-baked firmware and two defective units I've received, the final product isn't delivering the premium experience its price should be commanding.

Great TV.
Picture quality is absolutely amazing and a big jump up from my mid level vizio. The blacks are so deep that when a scene turns black it looks like I turned my TV off. Its amazing.
-1 Star because it needs firmware updates. If you use smartcast, then the TV will lag and eventually freeze out. So we just have a 4k firestick hooked up and it works great. It has a hard time connecting to any type of casting from my phone. On rare occasions, the TV freezes and you have to unplug it. Very rare, but it still happens.
I bought this to hook up a next gen console when I finally get one and I'm excited for it. Regardless of the issues it has, its an amazing TV 99% of the time.

First, let me say that I was wary about purchasing a Vizio TV cause I've heard and read about the quality control issues. The panel lottery is real for any brand TV that you purchase. I am astounded at how crisp and bright the picture is of this TV. I have unintentionally kinda become a video snob and I'm a weird person who enjoys the soap opera effect and an oversaturated picture. If you are looking for straight realistic colors and picture, perhaps you should be looking at the Sony X900H if you want HDMI 2.1 or the Sony X950H if you are looking for pure picture, however, the X950H doesn't support HDMI 2.1. I find those pictures to be dull and boring.
If you want a picture that wows you every time you throw up some Dolby Vision content, then look no further. What I am most impressed with is the motion handling. I have a number of TCL 8 series sets in my house, and I think the picture on those is fantastic but I still see artifacts during fast-moving scenes. On this P Series, I have barely noticed any artifacting and this Vizio does process content way better than the flagship TCL's I own. That's saying a lot considering the price point of this Vizio. Perhaps this has to do with the new IQ Ultra Processor in this set. I am blown away at how clean the motion is.
Sure, you can find better overall TV's but you're going to pay a ton more. This TV checks all the boxes I was looking for. It has HDMI 2.1 which I can't wait for my Series X to arrive so I can game in 4K 120HZ. It has Dolby Vision, HDR 10+, 120Hz processing, VRR, auto Game mode, and a peak brightness well over 1,000 nits.
The one negative that comes to mind is the sluggishness of how slow it turns on and switches inputs. This is expected in a mid-tier to lower-tier priced tv. If this is the biggest issue then I'm more than happy with the amount of tech I get for the price. I put the picture of this set up there with tv's double the price and even with so many of those sets, you are still probably not getting as much tech overall.
Don't be put off just cause it's a Vizio. I love LG's and Samsungs, however, I feel like they've become lazy and are trying to doop the consumer public. The Q70 from this year is actually the Q60 from last year and you don't even get a full array display. You are paying premium prices for an edge lit TV and Samsung expects the consumer to be dumb. This isn't ok. Vizio, TCL, and Hisense want to give the consumer great tv's at reasonable prices along with checking all the boxes.
I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Hopefully, my review helps you out if you're currently looking for a TV.

Amazing TV easy to use would recommend. The catch if you have a PS5 this is not compatible...yet. So the 2.1 hdmi ports that run 120hz 4K does not work as of yet. I guess the way the PS5 communicates with the TV needs a firmware update to get the TV up to PS5 standard of communication. Basically it was made to easily communicate with Xbox series X so if you have that you would be fine. I unfortunately play mostly on PS5. So I would have to wait. Which I do not mind as I bought this thinking cyberpunk would be next gen ready and it will not be until 2021 possible spring time. So majority of games now can barely do 120hz 4K. This is the best TV now that does not hurt the wallet if your in the market for a 65 inch. If not there are other option that are better depending on size and your spending.
Movies and gaming is what I use this for and amazing quality. I highly recommend looking up custom setting online for movies and gaming to get the best output. Works well in wide rooms.
Down side is the access and navigation of the system menu. At one point I had to do a factory reset just to get it to recognize my phone to use for streaming but since then all good so far.

WOW! Great Value and Picture Quality!

Let me first say, I’m extremely picky on picture quality vs value vs feature (particularly gaming). And I’ve now had the LG Nano 90 55 & 65, LG C9, CX, and Samsung Q90T. I ended up returning them because to start off the Nano 90 has disappointing dimming and contrast regardless of size, OLED will eventually burn in with gaming and what LG classifies as “normal use” really means if you watched varied shows with some games. . . The term “normal use” would be a different definition for each of us, I use my TV “normally” for mostly gaming and some movies. You may not. It’s very misleading and I cannot justify the investment for what will be inevitable. On either OLED set I’ve seen pixels die and see dead sub pixels accumulate in store models even with varying content. It’s not to say an LCD can’t do this but I’m talking in the context of a $1500+ OLED. Thankfully Vizio will bring down the cost of entry with their oleds this year. Lastly the Q90s all have a particular “defect” if you will. If you’re playing games or have content such as a car driving down a road where consistent terrain is moving constantly across the bottom or top of the screen in a darker room, you’ll notice there is a change in hue to a light blue or light purple around the entire edge of the screen. You can even see this in the grey test pattern. It’s an issue plaguing even the previous year although this does not include every model. You might read this and say I have one and don’t see it or can’t see it in the store, that’s because most content has black bars at the bottom and top so it’s hard to catch. If you’re in a bright room it’s hard to notice as well. But when the sun goes down and you catch a glimpse of it, you’ll never be able to “unsee” it. For a $1,600+ tv this is just unacceptable. For the money the Samsung doesn’t even outperform in every aspect and it’s even more expensive than OLED.
With that long intro out of the way, let’s get to the Vizio. I almost went with the TCL 6 mini led but I didn’t get it in time and I had second thoughts with it missing hdmi 2.1 and it’s local dimming and potential black crush risk a possible big deal.
The Vizio at $1200 is probably the best TV in the price range. It’s got contrast levels in certain scenes very close to OLED and on Samsung Q90T levels or even better. It is very impressive.
Blooming as with any full array is present but, I would say it is minimal or unnoticeable with any type of normal content outside of text on the screen on a black or dark background. There were times I think the brightness of the zones shown through slightly over characters in a film, almost like they had the faintest spot light in them. This is particularly hard to pick up on and I don’t suspect most people would notice.
There is some vignetting in the tips of the corners, not much but you can pick it out on an off white or slight grey screen. It’s not even close to the point where I would even mind or have an issue.
Playing some games I think there is some ghosting. I played ace combat during the night raid where you avoid spotlights and the terrain ranges from black to a light blue in color and in motion you could see the edges lighten slightly. It’s possible it could just be the game but, this is the only time I noticed it. I did not notice any trails behind objects, fast moving jets or cars didn’t seem to have anything like that present.
I played a hockey DSE (dirty screen effect) demo and it may have this slightly. I tested during the day and it could have been my reflection so, in either case it was really minimal.
Input lag and picture quality in game mode seems excellent as well. Playing COD was fast enough to feel instant.
I ran the local dimming test with the square and circle or oval on YouTube. Once the objects start moving fast the transitions can’t keep up and you see the dot start to fade. For how fast it gets to moving I can’t really say I’ve ever seen actual content move that fast even in games. The actual local dimming with all content still seems very good or much better than all TVs in this price range.
While I don’t have the ability to measure the color gamut. I am pretty certain this covers most of it and better than most TVs as they have in the past. The colors displayed are rich and intense even on an accurate level. It seemed very much on par with LGs OLED.
As far as brightness it is the same case here. I personally don’t care if the TV is not putting out over 1000 bits just because that is so bright. My assumption is it probably does 7-800 or so. I had the image on calibrated dark and sunsets in HDR looks pretty stunning and bright.
The interface on the Tv is the same as all vizios it seems. I can’t really complain. It’s definitely much faster than it used to be but, it still occasionally hiccups. I don’t understand how these processors can run 4k at 120hz but the menus aren’t the fastest thing you’ve ever seen. In any case it’s much much better than before, it just has a half second delay sometimes (rarely).
While I think the TV is great I still have some complaints.
I need to check the manual to be sure but, it seems like this TV does not have Bluetooth. Why oh Why Vizio did you skip this feature. Every other “premium” TV has this and it is very annoying that Vizios Premium line has this missing. Since PS4 doesn’t pass through Dolby vision, Netflix looks worse but it’s my only choice if I want to use wireless headphones.
That leads me to my next complaint. Since I’m forced to pick losing picture quality for wireless headphones, when I opt to just use the speakers in the TV the experience is just terrible. I know the speakers in a TV are not particularly anything crazy but, these are bad. The voice is not loud enough For those like me with a hearing loss and “dialogue boost” or whatever it’s called makes voice sound slightly louder but like it’s coming out of a tin can. I have to turn the TV way up to hear what’s being said all the while the sound effects are extremely over powering and loud. I don’t know what LG does for their TV speakers but they sound night and day better than what’s in this. You will be forced to buy a sound bar and god forbid you don’t have a PS4 or Xbox to plug headphones into.
I certainly hope to stand corrected and I’ll hope to update this if I’m wrong about the Bluetooth. Hopefully that’s the only spot that was cut cost wise to make this TV more affordable.
One last complaint is, off axis viewing is certainly not great. You lose contrast and can see the blooming a bit more prominently. I would personally rather deal with this for the insane contrast this has compared to Samsung’s “wide viewing angle coating” that lowers the contrast ration to about 4000:1 just like the Sony.
Just two side notes:
The wall mount holes for this TV is a much larger spacing than most over TVs. Or I didn’t notice that 65” have bigger spaces. I don’t think the Nano 90 I had, had the holes spaced out this far. The only bad thing is you may not be able to move the bracket up or down as far as you’d hope if applicable.
If you were concerned about this TV due to LinusTT “review” of the quantum x, which I’d barely call it that...this TV works as you’d expect. I didn’t notice any banding. The YouTube app does look awful for some reason with its light grey and text. The thing is the content you play doesn’t reflect any of that what so ever. It’s really misleading because the app with local dimming can even appear brown but, again videos and anything you play, dark scenes, or whatever else looks completely fine.
All in all, for $1200 this TV does it all. The official testing results are not online at this time yet but, I think this vizio blows everything else in the $12-1300 range out of the water. It likely has better local dimming than the Sony 900H and gets brighter. Colors and brightness are likely better by a margin. Contrast wise I’m also guessing but, I think it can get up to 10,000:1 or even better possibly. I’ve seen how good the Q90T is and with the vizio playing a submarine scene I saw things I couldn’t see before. Dark scenes are really excellent. The only factor I don’t know as much about is long term reliability. There seems to be a good mix online, some having their Vizios forever and others not. I’ve only had some input and reboot issues with Vizios in the past when connected to a PC but that’s it. A friend still has his Vizios after several years so, I can only hope as a P series this TV has decent components in it to make it last several years especially with HDMI 2.1 and free sync when it’s added via firmware. Lastly, the only reason this TV would not be for you is if you need excellent viewing angles and/or good built in sound. That is the only aspect I would consider not great. Oh, and if you want Bluetooth of course too, the skip this. Otherwise, the picture will leave you pleasantly surprised and impressed.

Excellent TV for the price. I bought this to pair with our PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and I’m thoroughly impressed. HDR REALLY pops on this tv compared to the LG Nano 85 we have in another room. Blacks are really deep for an LCD and it’s really bright. After updating the firmware, it now supports 4k 120hz pretty well. The only downfall I’ve found is with using hdmi ports 3 and 4 while setting our gaming consoles to 4k 120 with HDR enabled. It will sometimes give a black screen. I’ve found that using hdmi ports 1 and 2 solves the issue but it is kinda disappointing that there still appears to be an issue with 4k 120 with hdr enabled on the other ports. Once I upgrade our AV receiver to an hdmi 2.1 model and plug everything into it, I guess that won’t be an issue any more. But just be warned that while it says all 4 hdmi ports are hdmi 2.1, ports 3 and 4 are where bugs appear to pop up. But overall, buying this 65 inch P series for $899 was an excellent deal.

Recently lucked out and secured both XBOX Series X and PS5 before Superbowl Weekend! I initially bought an LG Open Box because it had true 120Hz refresh with 4K but when I got it home, plugged it in and turned it on, the screen had issues. Immediately went back to the Tempe, AZ store and asked what TVs they had IN STOCK that fit my criteria. The Vizio ended up being one of the more affordable options and I am sooooo glad I didn't spend the money on a different brand! By far this is the BEST TV I've ever owned and I went ahead and got a Vizio Soundbar setup at the same time. Playing on my next-gen consoles, streaming in 4K and watching the Superbowl on it made the long TV buying day a success.

This TV when I bought it originally had minor issues however over the course of the year since I've owned it firmware updates have come out which basically fixed most of my issues with it. When it is on sale I don't think you can really get a better 65 inch TV for sub $1,000. Quantum dot colors, 200 zones, 1200 nits of brightness, plays nice with the ps5 as well as with an OSSC and retrotink for people who want to hook up old consoles that pump out weird refresh rates. it actually can do 120hz and VA smearing is actually pretty well controlled from what I can visually see.
I seriously have a hard time finding serious fault with it spare not being mini-LED which the mini led this is priced to compete with only have 40 more zones and in real world behaves more like this vizio than other mini LEDs from larger companies like LG and samsung. and maybe motion handling to reduce judder for youtube when it's playing back video at 24 FPS when the app sets the TV to 60HZ but that's a problem with a lot of TVs and not just vizio but regardless, it could be better.
I think at it's MSRP it's hard to justify but, on clearance or on sale for the newer model this the TV to get.

This is a good set that could be great if Vizio could get it's software and firmware to the same level as the hardware. They have been fixing issues with updates, but the Smartcast system is a bit glitchy. I've had to do a full reset and some reboots, but I finally found that switching to quick start rather than eco mode settled things down. Since ESPN and many premium services (HBOmax, Showtime, etc.) aren't Smartcast apps and you can't add apps, you still need a Roku or some streaming device for those services. Yes, Chromecast and Apple Airplay are both built in, but I prefer my TV to do the work and control my media rather than casting from my phone or tablet.
You do have to tame things down by using calibrated or dark calibrated mode, or it's way too bright for evening use. That said, it has a beautiful picture especially with HRD or Dolby Vision sources. I haven't had any problems with CEC or the HDMI ARC functions. My soundbar, Roku and Blue ray player all switch and control as they should..
This set is fully feature, has a great picture, and it's priced right, especially if you catch a sale. Vizio has come a long way from being only bargain priced, and this could be a Sony and Samsung killer if the software catches up.

If you want this as a video gaming TV, you need to see for yourself.
There is discussion online about it. It doing 120hz, vrr and 4K at the same time. However, I have had those settings on for gears 5 and the play is butter smooth, a thing to marvel at. It does work. Coming from 1080p the difference is breathtaking.
As a tv? Great picture. Stunning even.
Now for the bad. With the series x there are periods of glitchiness when moving from instant resume to another game at times. Once it is set it’s perfect but I have had to go between inputs to get the image back for hdmi2.1.
This is not during gameplay but only on starting with Xbox series x in rare circumstances.
If it happens I hop between inputs and 2.1 hdmi is back to magic. This never happens with apps or tv viewing and could just be a quirk with Xbox series x.
Also note that most negative reports preceded firmware updates.
So aside from those occasional glitches I think it’s the best deal on 120hz, vrr, 4K gaming out there. It keeps dropping in price and beat but honored it and gave me 85 buck back.
No regrets. Still pinching myself when I play Xbox series x on here. Combined it has been revolutionary.

Purchased as a Christmas present to myself and because I was able to get a PS5. Looks great in a dark room! HDMI 2.1 provides smooth graphics with no latency.
IQ processor allow apps to open quickly!
Picture quantity is exceptional!
Price was incredible (caught on sale...can’t stress that enough)!
Supports Apple Airplay!!!
Sounds a little weak, but with a TV this size you would want a sound bar to bring out the rich sounds
My biggest drawback is it only has 4 HDMI ports. With the various functionality of this unit...5 ports would’ve sent this set over the top!

Okay, I bought this tv 2 weeks ago and made the decision the update the tv the current firmware at the time. I thought this tv was terrible! Raised blacks, extreme blooming, motion issues, no VRR, etc.....

Has a lot of pros: 4K 120 hz, HDMI 2.1 on all HDMI ports. HDR10+ in addition to HDR10 and Dolby Vision. eARC. Solid bang for the buck.
Software definitely needs to be improved, though. Some of the apps are buggy (required a factory reset a day after owning the TV to fix). More or less standard for Vizio, but I fully expect this TV to last a long time. Software won't be much of an issue once more devices are released with HDMI 2.1 (which has the bandwidth for 4K 120 hz).

Picture quality is great, especially when viewing HDR and Dolby Vision content. Brightness is very good and low light/shadow detail is phenomenal. Black levels obviously aren’t perfect like an OLED, but even in a completely dark room black looks like black, not gray.
The SmartCast UI is a little clunky but definitely usable. Variable refresh rate is not working with my Xbox One X with the TV’s current firmware, but I’m confident this issue will be ironed out by Vizio in an update.

Beautiful picture, but with some caveats

Beautiful, bright picture with great contrast and deep blacks. Be aware however of two potential issues:
1. Because of the nature of LED displays, there is some "dirty screen effect" (i.e., areas between LEDs where screen is slightly more dim rather than being exact same brightness across the entire screen). Generally not noticeable in normal viewing, but can be seen on solid backgrounds (i.e., snow/winter scenes).
2. Vizio occasionally updates the firmware and, sometimes, these updates can actually break as much as they fix. Two weeks after I had the TV, Vizio issues an update that really adversely affected the picture quality - it took about another month for them to issue a second update that remedied these issues and restored the image quality back to where it was as good as when I originally bought the TV. Fingers crossed that a future update doesn't mess anything up again.

The quality of the picture is awesome. It has a bright, vivid picture quality, with support for Dolby Vision. There is no lag in the refresh. Built in speakers are lackluster that's why I gave 4 stars. I'm glad I purchased.
