Amazing TV, In store display does no justice!

I was going back and forth on this TV and a more expensive Samsung model. Most of the reviews that I had read about it gave it very strong recommendations for a LED TV when compared to what else was out on the market. The price was a big factor for the attraction. I needed to get a look first hand at the Magnolia center at BB. When I compared the two TVs my initial reaction was shock and disappointment. I could not believe so many reviewers could be wrong! The display looks absolutely awful. I went home and re-read all of the reviews and wanted to give the TV a second chance. This time I brought my own content to display on the TV. Needless to say, completely blown away! Whatever content they are using at BB for this TV is complete garbage and does the TV no justice. I eventually purchased the TV and all I can say is every time I turn it on, I am not disappointed. It looks great and I have had zero issues with the streaming. One recommendation is to turn off the power save mode so you can easily turn on the TV from the tablet remote. Other than that, very quick and responsive to streaming requests. I really love the fact that I get updates on apps and the tablets on a regular basis, it really makes the whole app experience SO much better! I love that all my apps I got used to are available and I dont have to worry as much about being which content I can stream from which source. My Samsung had 2 updates in the 3 years I had it and it was to remove features. The Vizio has had 2 updates since January improving the performance and reliability of the tablet. This goes without mentioning all of the apps that update on Google play almost weekly. The lack of tuner was initially a deterrent, but they can be found cheaply or if you have cable or something like PS Vue you will have no issues. The TV is a little heavy and bulky compared to my previous 65in and I needed help hanging it.

I purchased the P75 and have been very pleased. It does not have the glossy Samsung style glass which is my preference (it has a semi gloss finish) but if that is my biggest gripe then I figure I'm doing well!
The TV has amazing black levels and is capable of bold color which is why I chose the screenshots that I've attached. It can also get extremely bright. Blu-ray upscales well on this TV and is very sharp. The wider color gamut allows the TV to covert standard imagery to something more.. you'll notice light sources look smoother, brighter and more realistic. Just look at the sun when watching The Revenant to see what I mean!
I have never seen movies look as good as they do on this TV.
Give this TV a shot and I think you will be extremely pleased. Even if you don't care about Dolby Vision and HDR, this TV will still do wonders for Netflix and blu-ray.
As far as negatives, I would advise to consider a different model if you watch regular DVDs and standard def cable. It does not upscale lower quality signals as well as Samsung and Sony do. This is why I give the TV 4 stars instead of 5.

If you've read reviews of this set, you already realize its picture quality is almost second to none. At this price point nothing can touch it. The biggest problem with the TV is the casting-based interface. I LOVE chromecast. Prior to this TV, I almost exclusively used Chromecast. I though having it built into this TV would take my happiness to a new level. Little did I know how cumbersome the set up it. For example, you cannot stream anything unless you first turn the TV on. I know that sounds like a minor gripe. But the Chromecast previously would turn the TV on when I launched a video. By selecting a video in Youtube, Netflix, etc, the TV started showing it right away. Now, I have to turn the TV on in one app (Vizio Smartcast), then open the app I'm interested in and launch the video. If it could all be well integrated, this wouldn't be a problem. Also, watching TV with a cable box is problematic. You can't control most boxed from the tablet, so you still need a remote. But the IR codes make switching inputs difficult. So I use the tablet or mini remote to turn on the TV and switch inputs, and then use the cable remote to control the box. If Vizio had done something smart like enable IR blasters on the TV, the TV would then be able to control the cable boxes or whatever. It would make the tablet "remote" the only controller you need.

When this TV was released, I had been waiting for 3 months so far for LG to release their Signature Line OLED sets. When they finally came out, I was definitely impressed. The colors looked incredible, and this is because the OLED set can produce true blacks. So the contrast between colors and black, which is basically off, was a huge difference. The only problem was, the LG sets couldn't produce bright images, only dark. It can produce great shadowing, but it couldn't product highlights because the set only goes up to 400 nits. When I saw the Vizio, it was a deal changer. The blacks aren't as dark as OLED, but using FALD, this set can produce much deeper blacks than other LED sets, because of the FALD, but it can also produce vibrant colors and brightness, which is where the LG comes up short. Besides this, Vizio decided to get rid of the TV tuner this year (I don't even remember the last time I hooked a coax connection to the back of a TV set) so losing the tuner was a great idea because it cut so much off the price. When streaming movies from the tablet remote, this TV can show DV and HDR10. Overall, this is the best TV with the most options per $ spent.

This tv is nothing short of amazing when it comes to picture quality. So glad I waited for this. The tablet and smart cast feature is cool, just takes a while to get used to. Initially the tablet has a few bugs but after the updates it works pretty well. However I downloaded the app to my iPhone and it works 100 times better on that. You really only need that remote if you are browsing or watching Netflix, or youtube etc. Otherwise I will use the Harmony remote like most others. Glad I went with this vs the Samsung or LG. HDR10 download to come in August so I'll be glad to check that out, but 4k Blurays on this thing without HDR are truly stunning. The black levels this produces are amazing and look better than anything I've seen other than OLED. 2 thumbs way up Vizio!

Excellent value for the 75 inch size and picture quality. 4K UHD, with Dolby Vision, full array led back panel for superior blacks that nearly match the out of this world pricing for an OLED. With a future HDR update coming within 90-120 days of launch, will be covered with HDR10 streaming and 4k bluray, This is not a TV, does not have a built in tuner to get over the air signals. This does not do 3D as well, wich may be a deal breaker for some. Have been completely satisfied with this awesome display. 4k streaming on Netflix, and 4K blurays look OUTSTANDING on this unit. Highly recommend.

Picture quality is awesome. Blacks are BLACK and picture is sharp.
The only minor thing I considered an annoyance was getting used to the tablet remote. To have to turn on the tablet, unlock it, open the smartcast app, and then push the power button (twice it seems like) is a bit tedious.
With that said get this TV. I will go through that annoyance every day with no regrets. As I read in an online review (I'm paraphrasing), "Get this TV for the picture, not the tablet".

This TV is perfect . I have had Samsung forever though I would change it up I picked this over the 75 inc 7100 series. For the people giving this low ratings I don't know why maybe they got bad tvs mind works perfect and the 4K is flawless better than any tv I have seen besides oled or tvs over 6000. No issues with tablet and if you do just use iPad or phone instead. Great product

I really like the value proposition for this LED/LCD. The blacks are really excellent, and I am looking forward to watching more 4K with Dolby HDR, as well as HDR10 when they upgrade the F/W later. This seems to match anything but OLED, and there does NOT seem to be a reasonable costs OLED in this size class for a LONG time - meanwhile I will GREATLY enjoy this display!

My 73" Mitsubshi DLP TV gave out and the repair man said to buy a new TV. After much research I decided on a Samsung 65" close to top of the line. As soon as the guys took it out of the box I knew it had to go. Too small. Yes size does matter. I kept it a couple weeks and it did not grow on me. Then I saw this Vizio model coming out in just a couple days, No display model no reviews. I saw that the Vizio M series for 2015 was highly rated so I took a chance. This 75" P series is just about fantastic. If you can find any 4K content you will almost think you are watching live. The up scaled 1080P is almost as good. It just has a great picture.I use a 10 speaker surround system so I do not use the TV speakers. There are two things I do not like. The TV has a silver bezel around the screen. I would like it black so it does not stand out. The stand is sub par even for a set costing much less. It looks cheap and is very large. It barely fit on my stand. I do not use the IR remote or the tablet control . I use the Harmony remote and mostly a Comcast Xfinity voice remote. The Chromecast is a good feature. Please note Vizio and Amazon are not friendly. You will need another device if you want to watch Amazon Prime shows. I do think you will find a 4K TV as good as this one for anywhere near this price. Yes there may be a better set out there but you pay dearly for it and probably not worth the extra cost. I for one am extremely satisfied with this purchase.

I must admit that it took a bit to get used to google cast but once I figured it out it's a breeze. The tv looks beautiful, great features, and very nice picture quality. Had to adjust the set but found setting recomendations online and found one that worked with my light family room. I'm now connecting this through my new 4K yamaha RX-V681 A/V receiver which I just got in. I use comcast and netflix. Looking forward to the day when 4k content is more readily available.

This TV is really nice. Some complain about it not having a TV tuner, but given today's environment, you can probably get TV through your cable or satellite provider anyway so do you really need a TV tuner? I have watched some 4K content, and all I can say is that it's amazing. Regarding watching current content in 1080p or 720p, this TV does a really good job of displaying those lesser resolutions.

I've owned this TV for a little over 2 months now.
Positives:
- Support for both HDR formats DolbyVision and HDR10.
- Nice screen size (75" model)
- Casting from the tablet or phone is a nice feature to have.
- Picture quality is very good. I mostly watch HD content from Xfinity. It looks good on this TV (after some basic picture calibration). UHD content of course looks amazing; sources I've used include YouTube and the Samsung K8500 UHD Blu-ray player.
Negatives
- The tablet can sometime lockup and lose control over the TV. This has happened to me on a few occasions. Restarting the TV and tablet resolves the issue. Not a deal breaker. There's a small basic remote one can use if the tablet or universal remotes are not options.
-The feet on the TV are fixed so TV stand width can be an issue (be sure to measure!).

Any 70 inch TV is huge but with the 4K picture (using the Samsung UHD player) the TV looks even better! I tried Amazon and Netflix 4K movies, some with HDR, and picture is fantastic. At that price nothing comes close (for now). I do not miss the lack of a tuner or apps. The tablet is sufficient. However I do find the table confusing to use and now only use my TIVO and Samsung UHD to view movies on HULU, Amazon and Netflix. Verizon Fios does not have a 4K channel so can not comment on how live TV would look in 4k but the TV does a good job with 1080i signal and 1080p movies. Overall a good choice.

The 4k is just amazing on this TV. The lower cost vs similar models from competitors allowed me to purchased a new 4k receiver and still have money left over.
In addition to supporting HDR, it also supports Dolby-vision. More and more titles from Netflix and Amazon are supporting DV. Its nice knowing this TV will support this format while many others dont. Also worth noting that the 2016 model internals are the same vs a 2017 model.

Unfortunately the panel on my Vizio was defective (grey circle appears at times on the screen) and am waiting for a new one but with that said, the colors and overall video quality of this set are great. Great overall look for this television and you just can't go wrong with a 75" model if you have the space for it.
