Amazing TV - Deep Black, Vibrant Color

This is overall a beautiful TV. The blacks are dark and deep, colors are vibrant and bright. The setup with the tablet had a couple minor hickups and the TV itself had a lot of updates (took almost a hour) but overall I'm very happy with the purchase.

This is an excellent TV at any price. Just so you know up front using the tablet has some drawbacks. If you think you will be able to watch Amazon, Netflix or YouTube in 4k think again. Since these apps are on the tablet instead of the TV you can only get the tablet resolution of 1080P. It will be upscale to look pretty good but not 4k.You can hook up a computer to the TV and watch it that way, if you have a good and newer graphics card that displays 4k. Mine does not. Another thing I did not realize when I bought this set is that if you use an A/V receiver and external speakers you need to have a very new receiver that will pass 4k video. Again mine did not. So you are going to have to spend a bunch more to watch 4k movies on your new TV.

    Samsung >>>

Needed a 65" for new home living room. We're traditionally a Samsung family, but the Vizio P series seemed to be getting good reviews and I liked it displayed both HDR formats so we broke away from Samsung and tried the Vizio. Was not impressed. Tablet for remote was cool, but it took forever to pair and connect to TV. It also froze several times and we had to restart it and connectivity was spotty at best. The real deal-breaker was pic quality. It just seemed blurry on too many shows and not enough "wow" for the price tag. My 3yr old Samsung appeared to show just as good quality as this new Vizio. Returned it for the Samsung UN65KS8000FXZA and its immediately clear to my wife and I that Samsung is the superior TV. Samsung has a MUCH cleaner pic, sleeker tv frame, and the smart features are way more reliable and user friendly. Oh and it's cheaper than the Vizio!! Maybe the blacks on Samsung dont get as black on the Vizio, or color blah blah blah, or whatever eles the critics say. Fine. I can only go by what my eyes tell me. Sometimes the reviews just dont match up to the naked eye test. Get the Samsung, save the trouble (and money), be happy

OK PQ, backlight uneven, casting headaches.

I bought this tv after reading about all the hype on launch week back in March. The picture quality is mostly OK, but mine has some annoying vertical backlight banding. This is noticeable when panning, but is very noticeable with panning an image with a solid color (think retro video games). There is also an issue where the two halves of the screen update slightly out of sync, causing what looks like a hard vertical line directly down the center of the screen. Also, the FALD causes some strange blooming on non black backgrounds. Very noticeable on the PS4 menu for example. The most annoying feature is the inability to turn off casting, which we never use. Here's the issue, several times per day, the content i'm watching goes black and the casting screen appears because my 5 yo daughter accidentally hit the cast button on her iPad. I would just disable network access to the TV, but it needs a connection to use the remote app (which has it's own issues). Sigh… Honestly, I should have gone OLED.

Cheap price equals cheap quality. You get what you pay for! I figured after 5 exchanges I could get at least one decent TV. Vizio quality control is awful. Save your money for a better TV. The picture quality isn't that great but I figured for the price it would have been good enough had there not been some many other problems. TV is also very difficult to use with the tablet controller.
