Much better than the Sony it replaced
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a Samsung person and never was disappointed. A year and a half ago I picked up a Sony 65" 4K UHD TV since it was on sale, and I was miserable with it. Google app crashes all the time, constantly having to factory reset to get it working again, and I never USE the smart TV functions. I just use it as a monitor for my inputs. I finally was fed up with the Sony and decided to replace it, and the Vizio was on a sale that I just couldn't pass up. It was actually a little more expensive than the Samsung 75", but it also was a newer model, the Samsung was over a year old and had slightly lesser technology. I always looked at Vizio as the "bottom feeder" of technology, but having seen the reviews and the visuals, I felt it was worth a shot. I love that there's no edge lit - this is the first TV I can't see bands of LED along the edges, and it's amazing how much of a difference that makes. I also don't mind the lesser angle viewing, since the way my TV is situated in my great room, nobody will ever sit off the edges anyway, the couch, recliner, even the dining table back in the dining room are all in the center view angle area, so everyone gets the best picture. I actually specifically got this VA because of this, the best picture from the front, compared to the IPS which have better angle views, but suffer when compared head on. Brightness levels are excellent. Once you get it out of torch mode, the blacks are the best I've seen, and the brights are amazing. I use a variety of sources, all through my receiver, so I have 8 devices to view, many game consoles, an Xbox One X, Amazon Fire TV, and a home theater PC all doing 4K. And the picture is amazing, the UHD far, far better than the Sony it is replacing. People have complained about the software, but I can't comment on that, since I don't use it. One of my complaints about smart TV's is that you can't find dumb TV's anymore. I don't need any of the junk, and after the debacle that the Sony was with the horrible software, I wouldn't want it anyway. If I need to use an app type thing, I can use my Amazon Fire TV or my Xbox or my HTPC. So all this ever has to do is turn on and off for me, the only thing I ever do is change the picture settings for different things. Gaming is excellent here, and the 4K UHD games like Assassin's Creed and such are just stunning. The motion technology helps with the fast moving things as well. I was afraid that 75" might be too much, even in my great room, but it doesn't seem too crazy. Since I have a 130" motorized projector screen in here as well I can drop when I want to use my 4K UHD projector, the 75" doesn't seem as crazy big. It's definitely awkward though, the first TV I couldn't get up on the stand alone. I also don't like the little feet on each end, since the entertainment center this is on wouldn't work for anything like that. So I have the metal angle legs that bolt into the VESA holes, and that works far better than those little end feet. All told I have zero complaints. For the sale price I paid, this was a steal.

3 strikes and you're out Vizio P75
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased a P75-F1 from Best Buy in August. It was extremely dim and Vizio replaced it. P75 #2 went on and off whenever it wanted. Vizio replaced it. P75 #3 had a 10in square dim zone in the corner. Vizio refunded and explained how fortunate I was for this one time exception...please...what a waste of time.

What happened to Best Buy?
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolute worst. I bought this TV less than three years ago based on the recommendation of the sales person who sold me the original Samsung TV that failed. I got this TV Sept/Oct of 2018 and have had two repairs already. Now, the TV will not turn on yet again which was the original problem reported within six months of having it. I am being told it is two months out of warranty for a TV I have had less than threes years. Best Buy use to be a good company that sold quality products and stood by its warranty. Not so much anymore. However, I was able to get a technician scheduled to at least look at the TV ten days from now. Ridiculous.

Alluring, but disappointing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Defective hdmi port with arc, after replacing all cables first. Second and unforgivable, the Dolby Vision is an older spec and not compatible with XB1X!!! Good refresh rate in game mode, but has to be toggled. Returned in a fortnight.

Posted .Hello Gueche, we are working to release an update to allow the television to work with the low latency version of Dolby Vision that Xbox is using. In the meantime you can watch the same Dolby Vision content using the built in Netflix application on the television.

Visio can do better.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would not recommend. Unit is expensive when new and failed within first year. The replacement covered under manufacturing warranty is also a dud. Unit has video static issues and random self power off. UI for smart TV is painfully slow.

Great Picture, bad software.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been very happy with the picture. Viewing angle is actual pretty good. I haven't noticed any flaws in the picture. Reflections are handled well. 4k HDR output from ps4 pro looks great. Will try 4k blue ray later today from an lg player. The software/OS that the tv runs on is trash. In 24 hours of ownership the tv has soft-rebooted itself 7 times. This often happens when switching inputs. Additionally, I have had unplug power two more times. The tv became completely unresponsive with a frozen picture on the screen. The only way to fix was to unplug and plug back into power. Not very happy at this point, and I hope that a software update will fix these issues.

The Year of the 75 (and ignore negative reviews)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned and watched a number of Vizios. One of mine has been an M-Series 43, which 2 years ago was already as good as it gets in modern 4K screens. How can I say that? Look at the specs and ignore those who post negative or positive reviews based on nothing but half-baked opinion. In the real world away from internet FUD, this P75-F1 is a game-changer. Once you calibrate it down from the factory super-bright settings, the P-Series are as good as any of the screens I've seen, even the way-over-hyped and over-priced OLEDs. Again, compare actual specs (see displayspecifications.com, for example) instead of falling for brand snobbery. Years ago, 55s are where price met quality met size, and they were the rage, then 65s, and this year looks to be the year of the 75. However, a word of warning: A 75 is a big, heavy screen, and you need an appropriately wide stand/credenza that is not too high, and a room big enough to warrant a 75-inch monster. You might even need two people to move it around. While, I'm not advocating just getting bigger and bigger screens, I'm happy we're finally able to get a big enough screen for a big room without getting a second mortgage or resorting to projection (not a fan). This 75 is very, very nice indeed, as good or better than any screen on the market, and I'm even okay with the menus and apps others seem to fixate and hate on, because the menus and apps are fine, and are better than my previous and recent Vizios. I've had none of the issues harped on by others (but I suspect they haven't, either). By the way, I recommend having the TV delivered to your Best Buy store, and then taking it home yourself, or having Best Buy deliver and install it if it's too big for your vehicle, as the box is much bigger than the screen. This avoids damage from the usual suspects. However, this 75 is packed very well. My box had a huge gash in it, and I was worried until I got it out and realized the thick foam wasn't even harmed, much less the TV. I also recommend patience in setting it up and getting it dialed in, trying all the settings to get it just right. So, don't believe all the negative and brand-snob things inexplicably posted about this TV, and don't fall for the overly positive comments about OLEDs or other competitors. This Vizio P75-F1 is going to make you smile, every day, every time, and isn't that why you want a bigger 4K screen?

WOW!!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm still blown away by this TV! I recieved it on July 5th hung it on the wall & have been absolutely loving it ever since! Sound is ok as with all flat screen tv's, I'm waiting for the Dolby Atmos® 5.1.4 sound bar to come out to add to it. The 75" picture is outstanding. This tv compares to the Sony 75" that is $1600 more than I paid for this. Great for sports as I've watched some replays of football on the NFL Network. I would not hesitate to buy this tv, you won't be dissapointed!

Vizio P75 - F1 Poor picture uniformity - you can s
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Vizio P75 - F1 Poor picture uniformity - you can see where the LED arrays are. I originally purchased a Vizio P75-C1 (2016) $3800, and was happy with the picture. However after 9 months its full array LED had several cloudy areas and by the time a replacement was delivered a 2x2 foot section of LED's completely failed. Through manufacturer warranty I got a replacement P75-C1 and within 9 months it too had developed some cloudy areas but this time the extended warranty was in effect and I got the Vizio P75-F1 as a replacement. The P75-F1 TV was only a $2200 and I suspected that meant they were using cheaper components, but it’s a warranty replacement and spec wise was at least as good as the TV it was replacing. Turns out its not, it immediately had poor screen uniformity. I can actually tell where the LED arrays are in certain plain backgrounds and in some moving shots when you figure out where the darker lines are you are constantly drawn too them and it detracts from enjoying the viewing, constantly looking for scenes where the defects show through. I'm now returning the 3rd Vizio P75, but the extended warranty seems like it will force me to stick with Vizio P75's but I've lost faith and if I had a choice I would at this time probably try a Sony XBR75X900F instead.

4k upscaling comparable to the Sony X900F
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After months of research and debating....I finally purchased the Vizio P75-F1 over the Sony X900F. This is definitely the closest looking picture to compare to the infamous X900F processing at $1000 less. Many people try to put down Vizio but I still have a 47" that I purchased back in 2008 that is running beautifully. If you are looking for a beautiful screen with 4k upscaling, you can't go wrong with this tv. Check out website comparisons like rtings.com and see the difference (or no difference at all).

Amazing for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to order online unfortunately and had to wait an extra week to have the tv delivered due to shortages (across the eastern seaboard?!) After connecting power and internet it takes about 30-45 minutes to install updates. Has some good channels that come along with it like CBS all access, and CNN live not to include netflix, hulu, amazon prime video. No HBO Now but the chromecast fixes that. Recommended picture is very good but I adjusted it a little bit. Now its better. I realize the darks are not as dark as the plasma I replaced but it is definitely brighter when it comes to color. Still really excited using it for movies and video games. Turning it on takes much less time to load than my last plasma tv so that is a definite plus.
