Do not buy this garbage!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv is the biggest piece of.... Junk. The picture is so incredibly bad and blurry, and the backlight bleed makes it unwatchable. Do not buy this! Spend a little more and get the Samsung qn90a. It costs more but is easily 3 times as good. Plus, this tv keeps shutting off and the screen keeps going all green until I reset it. Definitely returning it.

How Big is Too Big
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Vizio 75” P-Series tv comes well packed and the box is huge! Two people are definitely needed to unpack and set up this set. I like that the leg stands double as a sound bar holder. My unit did not automatically go into the initial setup however, resetting to factory defaults in the settings menu forced it. Setting up the television was fairly straightforward, following the on-screen prompts. The user manual is built into the settings to handle any issues you may encounter. Out of the box, the picture is brilliant and colors pop. You will need to make adjustments to find your best picture, and there are MANY to work with. Brightness is set to 100% and auto dimming is turned off - this made viewing in my apartment a little uncomfortable. Setting the Active Light Sensor to on and changing the color temperature made a big difference. I also like the wide viewing angle on this display, there isn't a seat in my living room that has a bad view. Rather than edge lighting the LCD Panel, this set uses Active Full Array dimming zones to better control blacks; however, there is significant ghosting when you have bright white content over deep black sections of screen - this seems to be most noticeable with text on black or dark backgrounds. You can adjust how the array handles this in the settings along with a ton of picture settings and color calibration options. Connecting this set to a device that has Dolby Vision like my Apple TV, this television just shines! The picture is amazing. There are four HDMI jacks on the right side of the unit but only two are rated for 120 hertz feeds. The set attempts to name the inputs based on what is plugged in, which is a nice touch but the names are based on the equipment. You do have the option to customize the input names with pre-set selections or fill in the blank but I have been unsuccessful in getting my custom names to stick to the inputs thus far. The remote is conservitave with only 17 buttons however, six of them are presets for specific applications, four of which I will most likely never use. I would rather these be customizable. There is also a directional or D pad with an OK button in the center which is what I found is used most. The voice control on the app worked as expected. You can download the Vizio Smart Connect app which I highly recommend. The app allows you total control of all the setup menus and features as well as total remote control of your television including voice command. This is a smart set. Connecting it to Alexa took enabling a skill and signing up with a Vizio account. I also changed the name of the set to make it easier to use voice commands. Setting it up with my Google Home was just as easy. Casting to this set with either Apple or Android phones worked as expected and I had no issues with either device. Rather than having an app store to select the streaming apps and services you use, all of Vizio’s options are present. You can adjust and sort these in the settings as well. Unfortunately, there were several prominent apps that I use that were missing - HBO, Discovery + and the soon to be renamed ATT TV. I did like the option of scanning a QR code to connect to and setup apps however. All the apps are snappy and load quickly - a nice touch. The TV has decent speakers but like most people purchasing this type of television, I connected a Dolby Atmos sound bar to it using the eARC connection and turned the speakers off. You can also connect your sound system via an optical cable; however, you give up the Atmos sound. I’ve noticed that either audio connection does not always put my soundbar to sleep when the set is turned off. I’ve had many Vizio televisions over the years and always been pleased with how they perform; however, this is my first high-end model and overall I am pleased with this set. I struggled with giving it four or five stars but ended up giving it five. It does have it's quirks and most of my issues above will hopefully be fixed with future firmware updates. Also plan on spending some time in the settings menu to get the picture quality to your liking. LCD technology has made great strides since it's inception and this set is proof of that. Yes, I would recommend it to a friend.

$1800 paperweight
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lines, lines, and more lines. I bought this TV on Oct. 4 and took it out of the box two weeks later. Here we are not quite 60 days after purchase with less than 30 hours on the TV and vertical lines all over the screen. There are wavy lines across the letterbox. I have always had great luck with Vizio and felt like I was going to have no problems with this purchase, boy was I wrong. 14 day return on a $1800 TV. Come on BestBuy, I didn't even have it out of the box by then.

A good TV, but a few corners cut
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I expected more from this TV, but before even opening the box, there were things I learned that had disappointed me. For starters, although this is a 120hz TV, it only supports 4k 120Hz on inputs 3 & 4. But, the eARC port (the one you'd connect to a home theater receiver), is HDMI-1. Meaning, if you go through the trouble of upgrading to a 8k/4k120hz receiver, you would still have to run extra cables to your TV for 120hz devices. The other important thing to know, is this TV doesn't even support 120hz out of the box for all devices! Most notably missing is a lack of PS5 support, apparently coming in a future firmware update!! That's just plain insane to me. One of the most popular devices in the world that can actually output 120hz content, doesn't even work with the TV. I tried connecting my laptop with a RTX3060 GPU and should be capable of 4k 120hz, I got mixed results of 4k 30hz or 4k 60hz. So that experience was a bit mixed. But, all that can potentially be fixed with a future firmware update. Once I got it out of the box, I noticed it did not include an HDMI cable, which seems like a glaring omission for this TV, given you need a cable that will support 4k 120hz to get the most from this TV, but most HDMI cables are not capable of that, Other things missing were screws to mount the TV to a wall mount, and a sufficiently long power cable. Unless you have an outlet way up on the wall behind where the TV will mount, also plan for adding an extension cord to your shopping list. Once I got the extras needed to actually put the TV where I wanted it (HDMI cable, screws for mounting, extension power cord), I got it up, and plugged it in. But first boot took several minutes, and then once I was finally able to put in wifi credentials, it took many more minutes to download and install a series of updates. All-in-all it was upwards of 20-30 minutes after plugging in the TV before I could even use it (there were moments I thought it might be stuck in a loop). Once setup and running, picture was very bright and vibrant, which was nice, and really where the wow factor comes in. But was almost TOO bright and WOW, so I changed it to "Calibrated" and that seemed to be much better, though colors then felt too muted, so I bumped up the color a bit. I then fired up a 4k blueray on my PS5, and picture was great, but a/v sync was WAY off. So I put the TV in game picture mode, and boom much better. So then after that I tried playing games (Ratchet and Clank) and noticed a very distracting flicker in some scenes. The picture also seemed darker and more muted than I expected. I played with a lot of settings on the PS5 and my Denon AV Receiver to try and figure out the magic sauce, but nothing seemed to fix it. It wasn't until I was streaming content directly to the TV in game mode, that I saw flicker that was absolutely horrendous, and made the video unwatchable (think ~15hz flicker). I played with the settings on the TV, and found "Clear Action" under advanced picture control and then motion control. Once I turned that off, flicker went away, and picture brightened up, and looked MUCH better. So, as far as I can tell, "Clear Action" should absolutely not be turned on with this TV for any reason. Maybe a firmware update will address the issue and make this feature usable, but as of now, it is unusable. The other settings I had to adjust, while watching Netflix, I noticed on slow panning scenes in "Squid Game" had a lot of juddering, which was distracting. So I turned up "Judder Reduction" and "Motion Blur Reduction" up to 5 (from default of 2 or 3), and the panning scenes were MUCH better. Other settings changed was changing the color temperature to "normal" for all picture modes. Otherwise the picture looks too "warm" (orange tint). I don't know why this is the default setting. The ambient light sensor I felt did not do much. I wish it was more aggressive in dimming this large screen in dark rooms, or provided more control over the dimming. Controlling my Denon AVR volume with the TV remote is a weird experience. It works, but sometimes it lags and but then catches up and suddenly changes the volume... sometimes it just registers the last few clicks. An annoyance, but for the most part works enough that it's at least usable. Picture wise, after making the many tweaks and adjustments I noted above, it's hard to not be wowed. It's a very bright display, and does have the ability to display very vivid colors. Video games are buttery smooth and gorgeous. The local dimming works really well, and I actually set it to the max value, and really helps with creating a high contrast. The Vizio SmartCast phone app on Android works well and is very convenient. The apps on the TV itself also similarly seem to work well and I have no complaints. Overall, it's a good TV, but I really feel like Vizio cut too many of the wrong corners. If you can get past the shortcomings, you'll be happy with the TV.

AWESOME!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've purchased several Vizio tvs, of different sizes, over the years and I have really liked them to the point that it's the only brand I buy. I upgraded from a 65 inch (E65-F0) to this 75 inch Vizio P series and I am LOVING IT! SUPER CLEAR picture and vivid colors. A few adjustments on the factory settings to reduce judder and its brightness to my liking and it is set! Vizio, you made a loyal customer out of me several years ago and you have reinforced my loyalty with this beautiful tv! Thank you!

Screen Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it, and since day one, when we turned it on it has had screen issues. The screen takes a min or two to become clear, and it randomly has lines that run throughout it when we watch live shows. TV is fast in terms of switching between different apps.

Overpriced. Same price as the quantum X??
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At this TV's current price is it severely overpriced. The Quantum X series is the top of the line TV from Vizio not this. This TV has far less brightness and hardly as many local dimming zones. No idea why this TV's Price has been increased to how much the 75inch Quantum X series TV sales for. Buyer beware you are not getting the top of the line Vizio TV if it is *not* a Quantum X. Also you are paying last year's Quantum X pricing for a far inferior product.

Poor Performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always had video products V and M series specifically And have always been extremely happy with the products, I figured I've upgraded to P series 75". The P series in my opinion is not worth the money as it constantly freezes I have to unplug it and plug it back in to reset it. Don't waste your money on vizio's higher end products as arts as they are not worth it.

Posted .Hello Mark, thank you for taking time to leave us your feedback. Typically, when a TV freezes up, that can be fixed with a power cycle. To power cycle a TV you will want to unplug the power and then hold the power button on the back of the TV for at least 5-10 seconds while unplugged. After those 5-10 seconds go ahead and plug the power back in and try again. If issues persist or you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us by going to support.vizio.com and clicking ‘contact us’.
