Sound quality is decent, but not exceptional. System frequently disconnects and has difficulty rediscovering our WiFi (no other devices seem to have this issue.) Ease of configuring settings/sound balance, etc. is not very user friendly.

I bought this because it came with the satellite speakers and I was told it would simulate surround sound better than a basic sound bar without the satellites. The reality is that the satellite speakers sound muddled, tinny and they crackle. The actual sound bar was ok, but we have an older TV from when they still made good speakers in the tv, so it was not much better or much louder than the TV speakers themselves. I would spend a little extra on an Energy Take 7 Classic surround sound system on Amazon along with on Onkyo A/V reciever. Great value and quality if you catch a sale.

Have been wanting a sound bar for a long time. Was using speakers which I got from Amazon for $40 for almost 3 years. But never found a good deal for a 5.1 surround sound kind of a sound bar system. When I connected the sound bar which was fairly easy, I was amazed at the sound quality and the amount of bass and the complete theater experience. But a few problems I faced were when i tried the Smart Cast app which just was not connecting to the sound bar via Bluetooth or Wifi and then I spoke to the Vizio customer service which was not that hard to reach but he told me to perform a few steps which I had already done before I contacted him. Also remember to switch the link setting to on via the remote. The guy then said he checked with his team and it seems there are problems with iOS devices and he told me to use an Android device to connect the first time and then it would work. But I do not know how but after sometime I just managed to connect using the Wifi option (which was not working before). And also this sound bar does not get connected to the tv the first time I switch on the TV for some reason. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Not sure. Will check it out and update this review soon. This is where the sound bar lost a star. Smart cast is a cool feature where you can cast music and it will keep playing even if you have an incoming call. Anyways this is worth the money. I honestly do not have any idea of how the other 5.1 sound bar systems would be compared to this one but I am pretty satisfied with this buy. I am usually a guy who does a lot of research and a lot of returns until I am not satisfied but this time just felt this is the perfect deal. Got it for around 180 on Black Friday.

We've never had one before so it's hard to rate or compare. It covers my remote signal to the TV so I have to raise my hand above it to make remote work.

Had to call Visio to get the SmartCast to work but even they had no idea what was going wrong. Decided not to return the bar but just not using SmartCast

Decent enough sound. Beats the horrible speakers from the tv but lacks the depth of running through my stereo. Definitely an upgrade.
