    Overall this is a fair product for the price. I have enjoyed the sound and surround of the system very well. However, the Bluetooth does not pair with any other device than one. It is very annoying. I would recommend some one to test pairing with two devices before buying it.

    I'm very happy with my purchase, I've had other sound bars in the past and this one is one of the better ones. Only thing I'm not too happy with is when I listen to music, the sound could be a bit better, but for the price what do you expect.

    I've owned a massive 7.1 system before that was just too much power and too intrusive and unattractive. This system is much more subtle with plenty of power for residential use. Once you get the SmartCast app connected, customizing the sound is super easy.

    This Vizio product features great audio sound with wireless speakers, bluetooth and wifi connectivity. I was looking in the market for speakers that I could rest on end tables next to my headboard to my bed. My bedroom is extremely large and I have a 55" flat screen opposite end of the room, that I can't hear. The problems I had was, the satellite surround sound speakers only emit BACK GROUND SOUND that in its self is a deal breaker, next I could only get HDMI and AUX output to work, but I can say their tech service is very helpful.

      5.1 Surround sound systems are designed to provide an immersive experience. Audio content will use specific channels/speakers to mimic you would hear the audio if you were actually there. Content occurring directly in front of you such as voices or dialogue will come through the front speakers while background audio, like sound effects, traffic, and background music, will typically come out of the rear speakers. This is dependent on how the original content provider decided to author the audio track. Dolby Digital and DTS encoded audio will provide the best surround experience.     For the price is awesome !!!!!!!!! it connects well with my hue lights , it recognizes my accent, it is just awesome <3 I have it with my bose speaker via BT and that's it !!!!

    Great Price For OK Sound But...

    The Vizio soundbar/speaker/subwoofer combo seemed like a great idea. I read reviews online before purchasing that were mostly good so I decided to expand my TV's sound power and pick this up. The Good: Comes with a soundbar, subwoofer and two speakers and they're all wireless! Good sound from the soundbar The Bad: The subwoofer has a lot of power so you may want to turn down the bass, especially if you have downstairs neighbors. The Ugly: About two weeks into owning this set up and I noticed there was a sharp static coming from the rear speakers. If the music would swell up in a movie, the static swelled too. This started off being a minor problem as I only heard it here and there but once you hear it, you can't un-hear it. Since Best Buy's return policy went down to 15 days, I'm glad I found this out right before it expired, although I'm sure this is why they shortened their return window to 15 days, as opposed to 30. All in all - You get what you pay for. Pony up some more money and get a better sound bar or home theater.

    Spotify Does Not Cast to Soundbar

    I purchased this sound bar on the promise of built-in Google Cast. Otherwise, I would have purchased last year's model which is nearly identical but much less expensive. The sound quality of build of the soundbar, woofers, and satellite speakers is great, but know that when you purchase this product you WILL NOT be able to cast music from SPOTIFY directly to the soundbar. Pandora will work. Google Music will work. But Spotify is not supported. I have raised this issue to Vizio customer service, Google customer service, and Spotify customer service. It doesn't matter to me who's issue it is to solve, I want it fixed and do not recommend this product until it is. I will update this review once it is fixed.     volume inconsistencies

    I have a Vizio TV that I had been using to watch the news via an antenna and Pandora through WiFi. The volume level was consistent between the two. I purchased this soundbar and now if I switch from TV to Pandora the volume level on the soundbar is so high it startles me and my dog is frightened. I talked to Vizio support and they said the TV speakers used to level the sound volume but the soundbar doesn't. Vizio offered no solution other than to purchase a new soundbar. I bought this sound bar 12-2016 and called Vizio 12-2016 so this is a new soundbar... A friend of mine has a Vizio TV and purchased the same soundbar and has this same issue. I think Vizio needs to add volume leveling to their soundbar.

    Worst Experience With Best Buy

    This is a review for an open box version of this product. The experience I had with best buy was less then stellar, less then awesome, and less then good. I went to Best Buy and was not helped by anyone. I wandered around for 20 minutes looking for my product myself hoping someone would help me. That help never came. However, i eventually found this nicely re-taped retail box for vizio sound bar (sarcasm). The box was retaped with <best buy inspected> labeled tape all around. This put my at ease thinking I would soon be making a good purchase; Although the box was not even closed properly and seemed to already by opening up. My experience with Best Buy would soon change to a poor one. Unboxing everything in terms of unboxing went alright. However, when it came down to having all the materials i needed is when I have lost all trust with any Best Buy open box products. The sound bar and sub woofer both need a power cord to function correctly, but in the box there was only one. Since the subwoofer syncs wirelessy to the sound bar that ment i would only be able to use the soundbar. The pamphlet thankfully was in the box and confirmed to me all the cords that was supposed to come in the package, and also verified that i was supposed to have a hdmi cord in the box. The hdmi cord was no where to be found. It was then I just repackaged everything and decided to never buy a open box from Best Buy again. The <inspected by best buy> labeled tape on the box is a nice touch to a demoralizing job done by whomever from the Federal Way, Washington's Best Buy store's job to "inspect" the product. Which leads me to this question? How are products thoroughly inspected? If a power cord is missing how could they even turn on the product? ******************************************************************** Anyways, Vizio makes nice products and this review is in no way reflective of the product I am reviewing. It is unfair for me to make much remarks on the quality of the product since I was unable to use the product >Best Buy<. The 1 star rating is solely for best buy and not for the Vizio product. If i could give Best Buy negative stars I would. I'm sorry Vizio, but you can thank Best Buy for this 1 star rating.

    After an easy initial setup I enjoyed the really nice sound, but after 4 hours the sound bar broke. I also was never able to get the Vizio SmartCast app to work with my iPhone 7. The tech support ended up blaming apple security requirements which I thought was kind of weak. There are many apps that work well, so Vizio maybe you need to just get the programming straight

    Issues and more issues.

    The first sound bar Smartcast would not work. The Vizio tech support was generally unhelpful and had me try the same troubleshooting the booklet already mentioned. Eventfully he had me do something that totally broke the sound bar, so off I went to exchange for another. On the second one I did not even dare try to get the Smartcast to work due to my fear that it won't work and maybe even blow the soundbar electronics again. However on the latest one the CEC keeps dropping whenever the TV is turned off a few times. Both TV and soundbar are Vizio, so they can't tell me it's because of brand differences. Optical out works, so I can either just use that or return this one for a better brand. Recommendations are welcome.

    Bought the VIZIO SB3851-D0 on Cyber Monday and received it on 12/1/16. Got it hooked up with HDMI input from my bluray player and HDMI output to my TV. Was playing a movie to check it out. Everything was going fine for 15 minutes then there was a loud squealing noise. The sound bar shut itself off and would not power up again. Tried resetting by holding down the Bluetooth and Volume Down buttons per the manual. Didn't help. Dead as a door nail. Returned the item and got a refund.
