I purchased three sound bars and tried them side by side at home . First was the Samsung WH-K550 overall great sounding 5.1 with the added wireless speakers everything synced with no issues. Great sounding overall.Great remote better than the Vizio and JBL. The one draw back was the lack of low-end that the sub put out .When playing music it was decent but with movies I needed more lowend even with the sub at max level. Next was the JBL SB-450 first impressions amazing low-end and that this sub woofer can put out! . Literally shook pictures on the walls. Best sub of the three sound bars I tried. It has an adjustable crossover on the subwoofer which is an awesome feature . Sound bar sounded great! when the surround feature turned on it did a great job of giving the impression of having rear speakers. Crisp highs also . The remote was horrible very small and no indication of where the bass levels where at or volume I like to have some indication as a reference point and also you can't add wireless rear speakers :( . Overall i had a hard time deciding I was going back and forth between the Vizio and the JBL and both sounded very similar . The Vizio was the winner for a few reasons. One having rear speakers , better remote and sound options, and Vizio smart app which makes it easy to change settings and see where your settings are at. Paring the sub at first was a pain and I had to update the sound bar through the smart app. I think people have issues and bad reviews with the unit dropping connection/paring because it needs to be updated through the app. The current update takes care of syncing issues etc. The subwoofer of the Vizio is great very loud plenty of low-end almost as much as the JBL . Overall it's the best option for around $400 out there period . The JBL is no joke and sounds killer I spent two days with both and they sound very similar but the Vizio offered a tad more in options. If JBL came out with wireless rear speakers and fix that horrible small remote and add some type of indication of level adjustments like lights on the sound bar like Vizio I would take the JBL in a heart beat.. I tried the Klipsch R-20 also which had the best sounding soundbar more mids and overall sound quality but once again the subwoofer was lackluster! For $500. You can't go wrong With the Vizio or JBL 450 try them both..

Great sound quality works well with my samsung tv. Super easy setup just plug and play. great for Netflix movies and/or any videos with 5.1 surround sound feels as if im actually in a movie theater

This unit packs quite a punch. Love the LAN/Wireless connection options (I'm using LAN) for streaming music and video from my phone and tablet. I have 2 of them setup in my home and I can easily choose between the 2 where I would like to stream. Setup and mounting was easy and no issues since purchase and setup.

I was in the market to upgrade my soundbar for my wall mounted flat screen. I purchased this Vizio product because of the great deal Best Buy was offering. I was looking for great sound but also for the ability to stream audio from my iPad to the system. First impressions out of the box were that the soundbar was substantially smaller than the unit I had purchased about four years ago. I was a little concerned when hanging the bar on the wall that it couldn't possibly produce good quality sound based on the height and depth of the bar (3" x 3"). The subwoofer was designed to fit under a couch, which was another thing that drew me to the product. Once installed, I fired up the sound and I have to say that I was completely wrong about how much sound the bar would be able to produce. It easily can produce sound louder than I care to hear. It has a handy remote to use, and my existing Harmony remote was easily set up to use the VIZIO system. A couple of things that I really like about this system. It has the SmartCast / Google Cast capability which allows me to set it up to stream from a variety of apps, and even after closing the app, the system continues to stream the music through its wireless internet connection without my phone or tablet. It also has a bluetooth input which allows me to stream music from the apps that do not work with Google Cast like Apple Music and Amazon Music. This has been great. Especially great to just stream a GooglePlay channel like "Relaxing at Home" and let the system fill the downstairs with nice relaxing music. My second favorite feature is that the we have a young daughter that goes to bed early at night. The remote has a "night" setting that automatically adjusts the subwoofer down while still maintaining very good quality sound. This is fantastic because I was always getting up and adjusting the knob of my old subwoofer at night when my daughter would wake up and tell me the TV was too loud. If I had one negative, it would be that I could not find any documentation on the rear channel speakers when I was shopping. I could not find anything saying how they hooked up to the system and I wrongly assumed that they must have been wireless like the subwoofer. The rear channel speakers actually are wired and they plug into the subwoofer. This isn't too bad, particularly if you happened to want the rear channel speakers located near by your couch with the subwoofer under the couch. Overall, I'm very pleased with this system and after using the SmartCast and Google Cast apps, I'm seriously looking into purchasing one of the Vizio SmartCast speakers to use in parts of the house where I can't hear the soundbar. I have never owned anything from VIZIO, so I wasn't sure what to expect with this system. I'd purchased and returned systems from Samsung and LG in the past, and I've owned a BOSE system for many years. Happy to say that this VIZIO system has exceeded my expectations.

The quality of the system is incredible. The low profile subwofer is easy to hide. Soundbar alone is incredible!

I like the sound and the wireless sub and back speakers always seem to work well too. My only issue is when I turn on my tv it turns on the Visio surround system but is often on the wrong input. It should be on the same input as when shut off but seems to have a mind of its own sometimes.

My vizio sound bar is 10 times better than my oldSamsung bar l bought 4 years ago. The bass sounds great

This has such a great sound for such a small package. I was a little worried that the new subwoofer would have trouble putting out deep bass notes since it is flat, but let me tell you, it does a great job and it fits under the couch for some serious butt rumbling action. You can literally feel the explosions! My one and only complaint is the horrible Vizio SmartCast app. It barely ever works and when it does it is not a user friendly experience. However, do not let this dissuade you from making this purchase. If you want awesome surround sound that will take your viewing experience to the next level, then look no further than this bad boy right here!

Amazing soundbar set up. Sound quality is top notch. Subwoofer and surround speakers are amazing.

The overall sound production is great. Had minor connectivity issues with the hdmi arc input in the beginning. The sub does its job and is easily hidden under or behind any sofa.

Purchased this system to go in a living area where we were limited on speaker placement. Sound bar and surrounds provide good imaging. The new sub design is great. This is my 3rd vizio bar purchase. Have the 2.1, 3.1 and now 5.1. We are very happy with the purchase.

Best sound for the buck. Will amaze you the bass and affect it has when watching movies.

Sound is way better than tv speakers but the best part is the bass coming from the sub.

Vizio - Smartcast 5.1-channel Soundbar System With 26.5 Wireless Subwoofer - Black very easy to set up, great sound, plenty of volume, wish I would have got one sooner. even thought the subwoofer is a flat style still has great base to it and easier to find a place to put it.

I have 2 of the SB4551-D5 as well as two Vizio Crave Pro (like Sonos). When they all work in unison it's amazing. The sound is excellent. And I really like the clear sound that come from the SB4551. The speaking voices are really easy to distinguish from background noice. But the Android App, and the IOS App is terrible. I'm constantly dropping connections. Once it's stable I leave it alone...but god forbid I create a chromecast group and try to keep all the speakers grouped together. Recommending to tech savvy...skip if you don't like to tech tinker.

Easy to setup. Works flawlessly with Visio TV. Wife loves it and I’d buy it again.
