Have an Insignia Roku TV about 2.5 years old, remote quit. This replacement has voice control if we wish to use it. Works great right out of box after installing batteries and very simple set up. Replacement & Upgrade at the same time, plus don't have to aim at TV to use, plus can just tell it what you want to do instead of manually doing it ! Five Stars !!!

We have five (5) TVs which use the Roku remotes and this voice remote is great. Although I have not used the voice command, the remote is great because it eliminates the need for one remote to turn the TV on and adjust the volume; it's all contained in this one. Commands are faster with this model than the older ones. It is also very easy connecting to the TV.

My wife and I now have our own remote by our chairs. Makes this much easier than having to find the remote. The voice feature works as advertised but we actually don't use it that much. I do love the headphone jack, and use that a lot. Easy to set up the second remote, did it in a matter of a minute or two.

Night and day because of the senor, the remote should not be 29.99. You get the voice to text and a great sensor. This remote should have come with the TV, to be honest, but instead, it was determined after the fact how terrible the remotes are that came with the TV and they capitalized by selling it to us for 29.99...how awesome. In short, the differences are you get a remote that can work from anywhere in the room and has the voice to text. If you don't want to spend the 29.99 and have an android or ios mobile device you can download the remote app and use the remote feature on your phone from anywhere in your house which I found out about after the fact.

Daddy got a chicken, mama got a cow, i got a ROKU+ stick. If there was a rehab for Roku I'd be the first to go into it. This product as a whole is very user friendly, has optional choices from box to a stick, making easy for my 5 yr old. nephew to operate all the way to my old-school granny at 95+ yrs old. I don't leave home without it whether i'm locally traveling or vacationing. I frown on ALL cable companies and their rip-off rates. All one really needs is a ROKU+ stick. Be sure to register it, do the software upgrades as they're made available, & get the ROKU app BY ROKU Inc. as the developer, for there will be many other knockoffs made available & promising the same features & but check the "developer" and only get the app from Roku, which allows your phone to become a remote with FULL features & other capabilities.

Bought this as an upgrade for my Roku TV that came with an IR remote which didn’t work well due to the angle and placement of the TV. This remote doesn’t require line-of-sight to the TV, so it always works no matter how I hold it, and it adds voice capability. Very easy to pair with the TV.

I've had these remotes for a month or so, now. I bought one for my Roku box and one for my Roku TV. I wanted to have spares, in case of loss or breakage. Both remotes paired easily and have worked well ever since. I enjoy the voice activated aspect of the remote.

We bought this remote to replace our original unit that came with our Roku Stick+. The original one broke after dropping from a high top table onto granite floors, it didn't make it out too well. This replacement was great out the box. Genuine Roku product. Connected and paired seamlessly with the Stick+ and we were back in business in no time at all. I am looking on Amazon to get one of the many protective silicone covers for Roku remotes to hopefully prevent a terminal fall from happening in the future. Take note though that this remote has the extra mute button bellow the volume switch on the side.

I upgraded my Roku TV remotes (TCL TVs) specifically to add the voice feature. Thankfully, these remotes also have the power and volume/mute buttons needed for the TV. Pairing was a simple process. If you break or lose your remote, then it makes sense to get one of these as a replacement upgrade. Check compatibility though, as this remote may not work with all Rokus (i.e. streaming stick). Unfortunately, the voice search feature isn't as useful as I had hoped. The voice search works great when you are in the Roku menus (home screen), but I found that it doesn't work within many apps (channels) when you use the app's search feature. In the end, the best way to do voice to text searches in the Roku home screen and in the Roku apps (channels) is to install and use the Roku app on your phone, which makes the value of the remote questionable as an upgrade. Now that Roku has Google Assistant integration for input switching, volume control, etc. it makes the voice button even less useful. Also, this remote does not have a headphone jack for private listening, which would have been nice, but seems limited to the Roku Ultras; however, I believe using the phone app also allows you to run audio through your phone to recreate the private listening feature.

Roku voice remote was so easy to set up on a Roku TV. Using the voice to go to certain places on the TV was easy to use since there are no number buttons to key in for a channel.

Works as it should. After we lost our Roku remote it was nice that I could just pick one up at Best Buy. Only thing is Amazon had it 10$ cheaper at the time. Thankfully Best Buy price matches.

I have a 43s515 roku tv and the rc280 remote stopped working. I could not find a remote in stock at bestbuy and shipping from other sites was looking to be a week or longer before I got the replacement. I decided to go with the RCAL7R remote instead because it was instock at my local store and would work with my tv. I was glad I went with this remote, the remote felt more robust and synced seamlessly to the tv. I noticed the improvement over the rc280 with not have to have direct line of site when pressing the button on the remote. I give a 4.5/5. Wish there was a headphone jack and headphones to listen through the controller.

We bought this to replace a faulty remote for our Roku Ultra (4660X Model from 2017). The voice button wasn't working on the old remote and I happened to see this at Best Buy while in to pick up something else. While not a feature I use a ton, it was annoying when I wanted to use it and couldn't. This remote works fine. It's bluetooth with the Roku so it doesn't need line of sight for the streaming box. It also can use the IR functionality (which is line of sight) for the volume and power on the TV. I knew this particular remote didn't have the headphone jack for private listening, and while nice isn't something used a lot in our Living Room, so I was willing to forgo it. I use that a lot at night for the bedroom remote, so the wife can read in peace, while I watch TV). The one feature it does have, much to my dismay, is that it will not work with the locate remote button function on the streaming box. Because of that one function I'll probably buy a replacement of the prior model and keep this as a spare (it's a life saver when the remote falls between couch cushions, behind something, or gets left somewhere it doesn't belong). Still it's better than the IR only third party remotes in my opinion.

I had an older Roku in the Kids room, they have destroyed the remote over the years, finally got them a replacement. It is easy to set up and the remote is thinner than our other remotes that came with our Roku Ultra

Purchased for my wife so I would not have to seek and find mine. Very easy to use and no problem setting up a second remote for one tv. Plus you change the channel without having to point at tv.

I have had many different Roku remotes but this one is the best by far.....everything in one controller. No more using 2 or 3 remotes to turn on my TV, Do yourself the favor and but this one.

Unfortunately my puppy chewed through the original remote that came with my Roku TV, I was hesitant to purchase this remote since I was not sure if it was compatible. After reading the "Features" under the "Overview" tab, I was able to confirm this remote was compatible with my TV. The remote was very easy to pair with my TV and instructions were simple to follow. Shortcut buttons are definitely the key selling point! Overall a great, simple product.

I have the TCL Roku tv and the IR remote that came with the tv was super cheap and you have to point the OEM remote directly at one spot on the tv to work. This replacement is exactly what I needed. The Roku remote connects via wifi or network so you don't have to point it directly at a certain spot on the tv for it to work....much nicer....plus it has the voice button for quick searches on the tv via Roku.

This remote works great !!! We love the voice remote the most. Just say what you are looking for and it does all the work. Saves a lot of time searching for things to watch!

Value for money. Sleek in design and very easy to hold in hands and start using. As soon as the batteries are connected, it pairs with the TV automatically.
