The things I really liked about this were the design as it looked really well done. Also filling the water tank and the clean up for the filterless design were pretty well thought out. The main problem is that this unit is super loud and that is inconvenient for spaces like bedrooms. Since this also uses a heating element to add humidity to the room, it was never able to get as much humidity in the room as compared to an ultrasonic version. So while this unit could run all night, I would still have a sore throat in the morning related to dry air.

At the medium (warm) setting a tank only lasts about 8 hours. Can be noisy when the fan is running. Looks good and easy to fill and clean though.

I have had many of the cheap cool mist ultrasonic humidifiers over the years, they eventually break or get super gross after a few years. I decided to invest in something nice this time around and wanted something that didn't look as ugly, and this one does look nice. It is my first hot mist humidifier and it is so much more effective than the cool mist, I was amazed at how much quicker it could raise the humidity in the room. The oil diffuser is also nice, I put a few drops of peppermint oil in and the air has a nice menthol feel to help me breathe. Cleaning seems very easy. The lid of the tank is the entire width of the cylinder, this makes it really easy to fill and easy to wipe down, unlike most with a tiny opening. The one fatal flaw of the product is that there is no way to turn off the LED display, so it constantly shines a bright light at night. It says it has an ambient light sensor to adjust the brightness, but it doesn't seem to do anything. For a product that is so well designed otherwise, it is a massive oversight. Overall I would still recommend it though, unless you just have to sleep in complete darkness. Pros: -Elegant design -Easy to clean -Easy to fill -Adjustable humidity target -Adjustable steam temp -Very effective at being a humidifier -Essential oil diffuser Cons: -No way to turn off bright display, it is a night light -It can burn you on hottest setting, probably not good for kids (but why it is so effective @@@@@@@

I would definitely recommend this humidifier to anyone who's home tends to dry out from time to time. The two different steam settings are an incredible convenience if you've been gone for a while or need to boost the humidity fast! The tank is extremely easy to clean and the handle makes it very easy to tote from the sink to the humidifier! Multiple options for control, the automatic humidity level is a very nice feature to have as the device will automatically shut off once the room has reached the specific humidity level you've selected (shown on the LED screen). On top of all that, it looks nice and modern too!

I like it. . its best if you use demineralised or distilled water to prevent buildup on heater element.

I can start by saying, I truly loved this thing while it lasted. It has a great design, and feels like it was assembled with great care and quality. It has a modern style, while being functional, and blending in with my plants and decor nicely. However, the unit only lasted about 6 months or so. I use this to keep the humidity up in my room because I've many tropical houseplants in my room. Also, my unit tends to dry up with the radiators on in the winter. I'm sad to say despite descaling and cleaning the unit, it has broken down and will not create steam anymore. I've cleaned the heating element, cleaned all visible scale around the reservoir, heating element, silicone fittings, and any other visible deposits - to no luck. When powering on the unit, it attempts to run its fans, and it overheats, without actually creating any steam. Then it gives me error messages that do not apply to the current status of the unit, for example - to change the water, when the reservoir has a fresh and full tank just added. I'm going to contact Vornado, and I'm hoping they will make this right. It truly was a fantastic humidifier while it lasted, but I CANNOT recommend this product. I regret buying it in the first place.

Brand need to listen customers. Never answered my suggestions. Can't turn light off. So bright at night. Water tank is not enough for a night long. Humidity sensor very poor, doesn't read and keep vaporizing non stop. got a beautiful design and a very easy water tank filling. Need improvement

Hey there, this is Jason from the Kleeberg Family Blog. I'm from the old school, where there was never a desire to add or remove moisture to a room. The humidity in a room was what it was, and if you wanted more, you moved to Florida, if you wanted less, you moved to Arizona. I'd always seen these in stores and thought, "What's the point?" , but now we've a baby and when he got sick, the doctor recommended a humidifier for the room to help with his cough and congestion. We chose this unit because of the look and the features. In terms of look, it's sleek and modern. A lot of humidifiers are boxy and white - something you wouldn't want sitting on your shelf at home. I didn't want something I'd have to put away and take out every night. The Vornado looks great - it's a two tiered look, the right is for the water reservoir and the left is the control panel. It's a grey color so it looks good on a shelf. The lights are soft and one small light strip will glow purple, pink, or orange based on the temperature you have it set at. I know some people have complained about the lights flashing when it's out of water, but it didn't effect us that much. I never woke up because of it. As far as I can see, you cannot turn the display off, so if that's a dealbreaker for you, it might be something to look at. For me, it doesn't bug me. It's not as bright as some would have you believe. In terms of features, we've got three different temperatures of water, which I suppose is nice. It's got cool, warm, and hot mists. It's got a digital humidity read, so you can set the humidity percentage in the room. It also has a timer for the night. It's advertised at up to 36 hours on one tank (we've the one gallon tank version), but I'ven't seen anywhere near that - my guess is that you can get 36 hours on cool with the lowest humidity setting. On warm (at 50% humidity), we see about 8 hours or so. On cool, we get longer. Again, not a big deal. It's easy to refill the tank - lift, fill, and place back in. There are no filters needed, which is a huge plus. Personally, I see no need for humidifiers. I've gone my whole life without one, and now using one for a month, I can't tell a difference in sleep, health, etc. Some of you probably can though, and if you're one of those people who get a benefit out of these machines, I'd say this is a good one to get. It looks nice, seems well made, and does what it advertises. Check out the website for more pictures!
