This fan will be directly compared to its competitor Honeywell turboforce as thats what my previous fan was before upgrading. Don’t be fooled this fan may be prettier, fancier, and more compact but turboforce at its more humble 15$ gives you a powerhouse dollar for dollar allowing you to get two of those cost effective units after tax for still under the cost of one of these. But first let’s understand what both fans are trying to do. Honeywell turboforce achieves what any ordinary fan does. Personal one way directioned air cooling. The usual to the point function of any fan on the market; while vornado goes for its “vortex technology” which basically means it’s pushing air in a wider cone as it’s goal is to cool and move as much air as possible depending on size of the unit to attempt to cool the whole room. Turboforce is quieter and blows more air at you at a distance while vornado sacrifices that air to that wider cone effect but you might start feeling a bit cooler even with it not facing you since it’s doing it’s job to cool the room. Vornado does have an easier and smoother control and 180 angle steel bar adjusted to angle it up while turboforce does have a flimsier plastic to turn up as well. But in my honest opinion it’s all just down to price at the end of the day. And Honeywell without a doubt gives you great cooling for its low price making it such a huge hurdle for this vornado to overcome. I will replace my turboforce since this fan is technically better but do not be a stranger to turboforce when making your decision as that unit has helped me a lot during that brutal CA summer heatwave this year.

This fan moves a lot of air in a column. It has only 3 basic settings . At the highest fan speed it is very loud other the that, this is a good fan. With more settings and less noise this would be tops in a fan this size.
