It was cheaper and I could've used both heater and simple fan. This one does both but it's considered an "upgrade" at a more expensive price. I feel that this is actually weaker than my previous one. But it's also just one of the few ones available where it'll warm your toes, as others (like the Dyson, which I have) is too high for toe warming.
