DO NOT BUY THE Vortex Electric Heater

The returnable time frame is 30 days after purchase, my Vortex Electric Heater stopped working 14 days after the "return period ended. Irregardless of how well it heated when it worked, it don't now.

Fan stops, element continues heating, unit melts

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these last year when our furnace went out, and used them until the furnace was repaired (2 weeks), and they were fine. I brought them out again a couple of weeks ago to use in a small studio apartment I'm fixing up, and both started going on the fritz immediately. By going on the fritz, I mean, the fan would stop, but the heating element would still be red, and the plastic ventilation grates began melting. I'm lucky to have noticed this before it started a fire, as some of the other models, like the VH101 and VH 110, which are now under recall, have done. I've seen other reports of this happening with the AVH10 here and elsewhere. This model also needs to be recalled.

Good fan, and temp control
