    This is our 2nd monitor. The first one was great. Clear day and night time pic, good connection speeds, and great battery life. The battery lasted for about 2 years before it wouldnt hold a charge any longer. We purchased the exact same model, and now the picture clarity is garbage. The night vision is grainy and blurry. Currently in the process of starting a warranty replacement. If it wasnt for this defective unit, I would give it 5 stars.

    I have liked everything about this system except for the battery not lasting more than 9 months. 2 stars for making me go purchase a 2nd while Vtech customer support processes my warranty replacement. I would still recommend but if you buy get the warranty. this product only comes with a 1 year limited warranty through Vtech and it takes 2 weeks to get replaced without the best buy warranty.

    With this monitor, my daughter feels more secure knowing her two little ones are comfortable and safe while sleeping. The two in one makes it so much easier to observe them than having two separate monitors.

    Everything Is Bad About It

    I hated everything about this. No “cry detection” so my phone was constantly getting alerts because I had it on the lowest noise detection, which also set the monitor off at night when my son wasn’t awake. Awkward attachment to the wall that looked sloppy. The microphone was poor quality and my son couldn’t understand me. The monitor is absurdly large and wouldn’t switch back and forth to day and night mode, so it was always black if I wanted to use night mode when it was dark. Doesn’t show the time on the monitor. I prefer the app of other monitors much better. Returned and went back to my cheap Amazon China monitor that’s much better in every realm.

    Do not purchase, one of the cameras out of the box will not stay connected. We bought this a few months prior to our second child being born, which means we are no longer able to return it. VTech support has been non existent.

    Good Features, Subpar Monitor Video Quality

    This VTech baby monitor packs a ton of features in, giving you a lot of flexibility and options. Unfortunately, I feel like it's let down by the basics, though. I'll start with the features... there are a lot here. You get two cameras, both of which have two way audio, Internet connectivity, built in sound machines and night lights, mated to a gigantic 7 inch screen. Along with all that, the cams have a huge range of motion, rotating a total of 360 degrees (basically 180 in both directions to get 360), and a pretty significant vertical range of motion as well. Honestly, all these aspects of the cams works very well, and given the inclusion of both a respectable sound machine and a feature packed night light, along with wifi connectivity for remote reviewing, you could make the case for device consolidation here. Previously, we'd have two cameras set up (a wifi enabled cam for video history and convenience, and a backup dumb 2.4ghz cam for when the Internet goes out), on top of a sound machine/night light combo. These cams could conceivably replace all 3 of those. However, issues with some of the basic functionality keep me from truly switching to these full time. Here are my biggest issues with the VTech cam set. First, they all connect to power with antiquated barrel plugs, including the screen. This is problematic in real world usage for me for two reasons: it's just another power cord to have to lug around when we travel, and if we ever lose or damage the cords, the units are rendered useless. Every other baby cam we've owned (4 in total) used at a minimum micro USB, if not USB C for power connections. Second, while the screen is nice and big, it doesn't work all that well. It's VERY slow to load from powered off state, the video quality is not very good, and using split screen causes considerable lag in the video of both feeds. These issues are problematic for anyone like me that doesn't necessarily want to use the network connected features for the sake of security, and will rely solely on the 2.4ghz local video feed. Also of note you cannot set the time on the screen without connecting it to the app on your phone, which again is problematic if you don't want to do that. It's a bit confusing why the video quality isn't very good given that the connected video quality is actually quite good. I understand that non connected wireless video has certain limitations, but even compared to others, this one is considerably more compressed and worse looking overall. One final note I'll mention here is that the cameras have zero annoying lights on them. They have the aforementioned nightlights that are highly customizable, but that's it. Anyone that's bought other baby cameras, only to be completely baffled by an annoyingly bright lights (or lights) that can't be disables knows just how great this is to not have to contend with. Virtually every other camera I've used, I've had to retro fit with a ridiculous looking layer of black electrical tape just to make sure the room is as dark as we want it. Overall, this setup is very close to being the best, but is let down by some if the basic features that should work well but don't. However, if you're looking for a jack of all trades type camera that could consolidate multiple devices into one, the VTech cams are still worth a consideration.

    2 months and the remote camera parts (2) get VERY hot, as does the plugs into the power on the wall. Waste of over $700.00! DO NOT BUY! Also anyone outside your home can access the camera(s) that is active.

    What does this system offer: Nightlight Volume control 135 degrees wide angle viewing Two way talk Infrared night vision Temperature sensor Full motion pan and tilt Live remote monitoring lullabies and sound playback Vtech Application In theory this system has everything one would want for a baby monitor. However, this system is plagued with connectivity issues. The application has a hard time connecting to both cameras, and the application has a harder time remaining connected to the Wi-Fi. When you can get the system completely hooked up the video is ok, remember this is a baby monitor not a video camera. The two-way talk-listen feature works well without any distortion. You also need to take care of placement of the cameras. Incoming light sources tend to blind the cameras. The wi-fi capabilities of the system allow for remote monitoring. The application also allows the system to send notifications to your phone in event of movement and sound events, this also saves a snapshot of the event and video to the application. The cameras also have a programmed nightlight feature that allows you to customize the nightlight to your preferred colors and hues.

    Finding the perfect baby monitor is very important for every new parent. I recommend this unit for the following reasons. The 1080p HD video quality is exceptional. The clarity of the image, even in night vision mode is very clear. You are able to see our baby’s expressions and movements in vivid detail especially at night. The pan and tilt functionality of the camera is a game-changer. It allows me to view the entire room easily. You can remotely adjust the camera angle using the monitor or the app on your phone or tablet. The Wi-Fi connectivity and remote access are what sets this monitor apart. Whether I’m at work or in another room, I can check on my baby using the mobile app. The connection is stable and secure. The 7-inch monitor is user-friendly with intuitive controls. The touch screen is responsive and makes navigating through menus a breeze. I particularly appreciate the temperature display feature, which helps me ensure the baby’s room is always comfortable for my baby. The battery life is impressive for a devise with high quality video. It lasts through the night without needing a recharge, which is essential for uninterrupted monitoring. The two-way audio is clear, allowing to hear every sound. The monitor also includes lullabies and white noise options, which are great for helping my baby fall asleep. Overall, this is an excellent investment for parents seeking a high quality, reliable baby monitor.
