    Inferior product

    I brought the item online. The service was great but the item is inferior. The phone and answering machine work fine but the caller ID does not work. I e-mailed VTech Support for help. They gave me suggestions promptly and none of proposals worked. There is nothing wrong with my phone line since I have an AT&T Trimline Corded Phone with caller ID connected to my phone line now and the caller ID is working fine. Given Coronavirus 19, I am not going to bother going to the store for a refund. I just consider the purchase as a bad investment and accepted the lost.

    I was excited after reading reviews on this phone. It was very easy setup and worked well at first but only lasted 6 weeks. I had to return it and get a different brand.

    I purchased to replace another answering machine phone that worked fine but did not have all the features I wanted. The phones worked, but the answering machine would not operate properly. I contacted the manufacturer to see what the problem was, they said that it probably was because it conflicted with other phones in my home. I tried unplugging all of them and still the answering machine did not work properly. I gave up and retuned the item. My old answering machine worked fine, so went back to it.

    The three week phone

    So sad to say this phone item failed after three weeks of use and caused my 90 years old mom much disappointment. Buying on line is a farce. So much is promised but there is usually a catch. For instance when I read all the conditions for returning an item I felt let down. First thing was repacking and the receipt which I totally misplaced because these conditions were spelled after the fact. I did not expect to need or know return policy so soon. My mom does not have a mobile therefore I was forced to go to another department store hand-pick and pay for another phone. And to think I fell for all your smiling chit chat.

    many non working functions

    redial, caller id and other functions not working; I came to the department I purchased it in, guy there knew nothing and lead me to no one. Royal pain. Instructions haven't remedied the issues and considering a return do to defects.

    Phone locks up

    I ordered this phone for my grandmother and it has locked up 3 times, requiring me to go to her house to reset the phone each time. We are currently working on a warranty return with VTech. During two of the malfunctions an incoming call was locked on the screen, and during the third malfunction all the pixels on the screen stayed lit up. I needed to unplug the power and telephone line to reset the phone. People calling her received a busy signal, and she had nothing on her end. We thought the first error may have been a fluke, and by the time it happened again it was outside the 15 day Best Buy return window. We may need to wait up to 30 days for a VTech warranty return.

    Worst phone ever!

    Just starting using this VTech - CS6949 DECT 6.0. It worked for couple weeks but the volume was too low even at full volume. Now it barely works. The outgoing calls - We can dial out, but cannot hear much. The incoming calls - The phone rings, we pick up, and hear almost nothing. The phone volume is the highest possible. We bought it on 5/17 and the return was only till 6/16, which I just found out. We have not used it until recently. I would expect better quality from a well known brand, and buying at Best Buy. I guess I will have to go to Goodwill to find something better. Very frustrating and disappointing!!!

    DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE SET. I purchase this phone set for my mom so she would have the option of talking on the main phone or using the cordless phone when more convenient. First of all, the cordless phone dies after 3 days without even being used. And the main phone sounds ad if the person on the other end is screaming through a tin can. And you can barely understand what the person is saying when the phone is on speaker. I plan on returning this phone and hope to get a full refund.

    Very disappointed in this device. First, the sound quality is terrible, both in the speaker and the handset. Second, the procedure for entering numbers in the directory is difficult because the number buttons are mushy which makes it difficult to actually spell a name for a number.

    not happy with vtech

    I bought this phone from Best Buy on 1/27/20 and today is 2/2/21, 5 days after the manufacture warranty has expired. The phone is making strange sounds when i get a call. I cannot hear the person who is calling and have to hang up, It does not make this sound every time, maybe 1 out of 5 calls. I will be looking for another system but it wont be VTech. If you purchase get the extended warranty, at least you can get another phone.

    The worst corded phone with cordless phone I have ever purchased,Maybe because it was on sale! Many features do not work or non existent on the corded phone, also with the cordless phone. Redial doesn't work, the quiet feature doesn't work. There is no indication of messages received. Also a factor maybe because it was delivered instead of picking up at the store. Normally Best Buy products are Good, especially picking up at the store.

    Poor quality phone system. On the web-site and the package it says it is an expandable phone system, Its not. I cannot find the extra hand set that supposedly goes with it, anywhere on the Best Buy web-site. The instructions are vague at best for how to program the one cordless handset that comes with this phone system. I will never buy anything made by V-tech again

    I bought this phone to hang on the wall. Upon installation, I discovered that the receiver would not remain on the hook. I would say it was a design flaw. I returned the phone for that reason. I have no idea if it actually worked as a desk phone.

    cordless phone works perfect but as far as the corded phone all it takes is one slight bump and it disconnects your line disconnection call would not waste my money on it if you're going to buy a phone by the expensive one not the cheap one

    The phones don’t have a dial to turn up or down brightness. It’s very dim and hard to read caller I’d. For this reason I wouldn’t purchase this Brand again. It’s the second one I have owned both do the same dim screen
