We recently took our first international family vacation with our 7 year old twins. The trip included a lot of adventure days in and out of the water. I wanted waterproof cameras for both kids so they could take their own pictures. This camera really fit the bill. It's much smaller than I expected - it fits in the palm of your hand - and I worried it would get lost but kids managed it well. We only took the camera, strap and waterproof case so I can't speak to the other parts. When the cameras arrived (and quickly, thanks Best Buy) I was disappointed they had video games in them BUT that feature turned out to be a real ancillary benefit. It kept the kids occupied in the car and on planes, and while waiting in line. There are a lot of features in this camera - frames, filters (the "negative" filter was really popular), self-timer, etc. Kids learned the features quickly and we didn't need the manual with us. Negatives: I do wish it was a bit bigger, although it fits in a kid's pocket which is handy. And I removed a star because it needs some kind of stability control in the settings - if the "photographer" or subjects are moving at all the image is blurry. The photos are also slightly over-saturated in color, which reminded me of the old Polaroid pics. I actually liked that aspect but you may not. Regardless, many of the kid pics came out great, and the videos came out even better. My daughter took over 300 pictures in eight days - shots I never would have gotten myself. Now we have vacation memories unique to their perspective. I've included two of my daughter's good photos, one underwater. Overall great little camera, highly recommend.

I bought this item as Christmas gift for my son when he saw it at the store and said he's always wanted this item. It is a little pricey for a kid's toy but it looks to be made well and of high quality material. My son seems to be really happy with it, so I guess it is a great product, although, we are yet to try it under water when we get to Key West in February.

I was skeptical at first, I know some people who have GoPros and was leaning towards shelling out some good money and getting one as well. We primarily wanted to film our little one taking their first dips into the swimming pool and researched the whole gamut, from placing a smartphone into a watertight zip bag to the high end GoPro. But for an item that costs 1/10 the price of a GoPro it certainly does not feel like just 10% of a camera next to a GoPro. This little item is a beast of a value! I was pleasantly surprised how well the video quality was, especially when underwater. It floats too! The still photos quality were so-so, but make sure you use this outdoors with plenty of light and the quality will shoot way up. The interface is incredibly easy, very fast initial setup and we were off and filming in very little time from out of the box. Good battery life, small tidy size even when enclosed in the waterproof case and the overall fit and finish of the product just makes this a very good purchase for the money. And really the best thing about this camera is that it is so kid friendly and intelligently simple. I can hand it off to my child in a few years and they will have their own little hobby cam to play and explore with. Imagine doing that with a GoPro, I THINK NOT!

I bought this for my nephew for Christmas. He could not wait to ripe into the box and start using it. We charged it up and headed for the pool. It was super easy to set up and we all had a lot of fun with it. Next adventure was on the quad. Once we found a spot to mount it off he was making memories.

It's a really practical action camera for kids. I bought this for my 4 year old. She loves it. She carries it around everywhere. She love to take pics and videos. Although you need a SD card if you want to record on 720p. Overall is a good camera has games, filters for video and photo.

The Kidizoom Action Camera is a great concept. The camera comes with a multitude of mounting options, and even comes with a waterproof case (just like a GoPro). That, however, is where the similarities with a GoPro end. The camera itself has a pin-hole size lens, and supports only 640x480 video. A 32Gb MicroSD card (not included) will hold 240 minutes of this 640x480 video. After taking videos/still pictures in a pool, and while riding her bike, my daughter was eager to watch the fruits of her labor up on our 4K TV (just like the video from Dad's GoPro). She was disappointed with the video quality. The mounts provided shaky video, which was difficult to watch. Also, the 640x480 resolution left much to be desired when it came to resolution. Now I know that this camera is roughly $40. And I know that it's for kids. But couldn't they at least provide a CCD that can grab 720p, and provide decent image stabilization? This would have resulted in a much happier child, and I'd be willing to pay the price bump associated with the higher performance. My $0.02.

When the kids said they wanted GoPro cameras for Christmas, my initial thought was, "Nope. Not gonna happen." Leave it to my wife to find a decent and VERY affordable alternative. The VTech - Kidizoom Action Camera - Black/Yellow is NOT a GoPro and doesn't come with all of the accessories and such to allow you to attach it to your head or to a helmet; however, those kinds of things DO exist, and they're also, VERY affordable. The VTech - Kidizoom Action Camera - Black/Yellow is easy to use, easy to charge and takes decent photos. No, they're not the 4k shots you get off a GoPro, but for the money, they do the job, and you get the kind of action photos and videos you would expect to see when you're running, skateboarding, bike riding etc. You can store tons of video with a 32GB microSD card (not included...) The kids... love these cameras. I... love the price; and my wife... she saved Christmas. If you don't mind not having 4k resolution, this is a no brainer when it comes to price; and for the money, you get to have a lot of fun.

Bought for my 7 year old son's mini bike. He loves it. Makes me want a real one for my bike.

This was a surprise gift, and my grandson just loves it. Just learned downhill skiing and they got some great videos by attaching it to his helmet.

It comes with attachments for taking pictures underwater. It can be attached to the handlebars of a bike or on the front of a skate board. It charges on any USB cable, so no batteries to buy You may add a micro sd memory card for outstanding photo storage. Comes with 3 games, picture frames and is also a video recorder. It takes selfies and has a screen to view. You can hook it up to a computer to take off photos and watch videos a bit larger. It comes with a 1 year parts and labor warranty. Add a BestBuy warranty for easy fix or replace warranty.

I purchased it a s Chirstmas gift for my nephew. He loves it and plays with it all day.

Our granddaughter spent hours of fun in the pool enjoying the underwater video capability of this versatile camera.

This camera is a good deal for those seeking to have your child with a camera or video and they don't have a phone.

Our nine year old son loves this camera and actually got it as a gift for Christmas. He has the attachment setup on his bike so he can mount the camera and go. He has a lot of fun taking pictures and videos and watching them on the computer or viewing them. He also really enjoys the different settings for pictures and the way he can edit them with different backgrounds and stickers as well as change the features of the picture. The video footage is actually really clear and doesn't cut out when he hit bumps. The battery life is rather impressive as well. He can go for hours.

If you're looking for a GoPro style camera, but don't want to pay a lot for it, this is a GREAT substitute. There are a number of different attachments for your head, a helmet, bike handle bars, etc., that are also very reasonably priced. This solved the, Dad, I want a GoPro camera for Christmas, bug (we bought 3 of them) without breaking the bank (or equalling the price of 1 GoPro camera).

Make no mistake - the image is NOT awesome, but if you're looking for an easy action cam for your kiddo that can take a beating- this one works great!

Gave my 3 1/2 year old on vacation to keep her from wanting to play with GoPro. Picture and video quality is okay at best. Games included were low quality. She was able to take pictures and videos easily. Holds charge for several hours. Waterproof case works well. Great kid camera.

Our grandson was well pleased with this camera, but I was a little disappointed at the size of the camera. It is very small and I suppose it has to be to be able to attach to bicycle handlebars. It is a good camera for a young beginner, though.
